Hey, that's a nice load of fish if. I kinda figured it's hard walking out there with all the snow. You toughed it out and were rewarded nicely.

Sweet ride, but I prefer vehicles with a back seat.

I hope it works out and the big oil companies finally get a kick in the pants. There's a company in Mississauga that makes a hydrogen fuel unit to attach to cars and trucks. Looks like more than one group is doing something about the petrolium giants.

Another vote for the Ugly Stick. One of the first rods I ever bought as a young teen about 24 years ago. 7ft. medium action spinning rod. A bit thicker and heavier than todays rods, but I've used it for muskie and pike trolling. (it'll pull some large lures with ease) Fished the rivers for salmon (30+ pounds), no problem. Still have the rod and it's in great condition. Tough as nails. I've checked out the new models of Ugly Sticks and they get my vote too. ABU, Mitchell and Shimano reels always did their job for me. You should be able to find a good combo approx. $75 or under as already mentioned.

At least you got out, even if the snow slowed caused some delays. Some of us were stuck painting kids bedrooms and re-arranging furniture.

I use a Raymarine VHF radio. The model escapes me at the moment. It's a mounted model an does have the 25 watt capabilities. I have no complaints. A good quality antenna is a must.

I only fished Nosbonsing once maybe 15 - 18 years ago. It was fall and we were after the eyes. Did well with the smaller fish, but the big girls weren't very co-operative. Thanks for the report and good luck your next time out.

Thanks for the info on your new hours and fishing report Sam. Must be nice to live so close to all those eyes. I'd be going stir crazy waiting for my next chance to get at 'em.

Tough day for you. A list would help for sure. Bummer about the ticket. I got speeding ticket years ago because I was exited about going fishing and was trying to get to the lake 5 minutes sooner. It happens. Now I'll take the extra 5 minutes and more. You'll get into fish. Just make sure "all" the gear is packed and ready to go.

You did the right thing by going home. No fish is worth getting into an accident and possibly injuring yourself. There will be other fishing days.

The weather report was calling for some winds yesterday and today. Too bad it was enough to put a damper on your fishing. You'll get into some fish soon enough. Keep the reports coming. .....and don't forget we like pics.

Excellent Tony. I think the exact # of entrants in the derby was 83, but lots of others who didn't enter were hanging around and quite a few spectators on shore. Cliff's suggestion for #'s are pretty good. Having a bit extra seems better than not having enough. Thanks again Tony.

I watched the first few UFC's, but haven't seen any lately. When it's something new, there's always some excitement. If I get a chance, I'll watch a bit, but it's not on my "to do list."
