  1. I post ... therefore I am. :blahblah1: No really!
  2. No kitty cats this time eh? Well at least you managed to guide Jimmy to a tasty treat.
  3. Wow, can't beat that scenery. Nice trout too. I just read two women in B.C. reported seeing bigfoot while picking blueberries. Maybe it was mushrooms they were picking. That would explain the bigfoot sighting
  4. Very nice pics. That is a great shot of the smallmouth.
  5. That was a beauty report. Well done. You gotta love the Sportspal for those wilderness trips. How do you like the x-trail? It's on my short list for next vehicle.
  6. That's a chubby one for sure. Congrats
  7. Pick up some 1/8oz jigs in yellow or orange and tip them with the pumpkinseed/chartreuese 3" power grubs. Works on everything that swims.
  8. The water levels should still be decent, but the weeds will be at their highest. From shore you'll still have the area near the dam as well as around the boat launch that should be open enough to cast from shore. If you decide to take a boat remember that there is "No Gas Motors" allowed. Don't forget to pay, the conservation staff check the cars in the lot daily for ticket stubs. It's only $10 and the fine is $60 for not paying. You should be able to scare up some hammer handle pike and maybe a largemouth if you're lucky. Good luck.
  9. That's what we like to see, lots of pics. Welcome to the site.
  10. No campground Kenny, just seasonal trailers and rental cottages. http://www.campashtabula.com
  11. Nice fish and report. I recognize that bridge in the back of your first pic, but I will keep your secret
  12. You will definately want to pick up a drift sock. It will make all the difference in the wind. They have Minn Kota socks at CTC.
  13. My daughter, wife & I went up to Camp Ashtabula for a week of fun & fishing on Pigeon lake. Got the car loaded up to the max and started our 260km journey to the Kawarthas. After unpacking, the wife and kid wanted to do some fishing off the dock. The wife caught this largemouth and I caught a small walleye, many bluegill and a few crappie just before the sun went down. The kid caught some perch as well as this WGSF. She really liked the polarized glasses for watching the fish eat her jig. Next day was a rainy one so I put on the rainsuit and went in search of musky in my kayak. I caught this 20" walleye on a firetiger slopmaster. It was still raining in the afternoon so I went back out in search of crappie and instead hooked this largemouth on a 1/16oz jig & grub combo. My 8yr old wanted to try out the kayak for the first time, so after donning her lifejacket, she was off. She went out and around the swimming platforms like a pro. Looks like another yakker in the family. Next morning it was raining again and the wife wanted to fish from the dock. My daughter and I stayed in the cottage to watch cartoons when we heard some excitement down at the water. She hooked this musky on a 1/8oz jig & grub combo and had no way of landing it. I got my raincoat on and grabbed a pair of pliers and camera and headed out to help. Thanks to our host Donna for taking the photo. By midweek my parents and my brother and his wife joined us at the cottage. While the wives went out golfing and my parents looked after my daughter, brother Joonmoon and I went in search of musky in the 14' rental boat. He caught this 35" scrapper on a Mepps musky killer bucktail in black w/gold blade off a windblown point. It jumped 3 times including one where it jumped into my head while I was laying out the cradle to land it. Took the wife and daughter out in the evening in the rental and we all caught perch, rockbass, and small largies before the wife hooked this cute little guy on the same 1/8oz jig she was using off the dock. Next day Joonmoon and Goog took the rental out and caught many different panfish including this bluegill caught by Goog. Brother Joonmoon caught the biggest bass of the week, this 19" largie on a musky killer bucktail. The week seemed to end so fast but after talking with the Carter's we found an open cottage for a week in August so we will be back soon for another week of fun & fishing at Pigeon lake.
  14. Orangeville would be a great baptism for your Sportspal. I've often thought of taking my kayak down to Bronte in the fall to try for a salmon. I will be watching for a wind out of the S-SE before I give it a try just to be safe. I don't want a chinook taking me on a ride to Rochester, not that there's anything wrong with Rochester, I just don't want to go there in a kayak.
  15. Excellent choice. I have the exact same model and colour. It's been great for the last 15yrs so I'm sure you will have a long and happy relationship with your Sportspal. Do you have an electric trolling motor for it yet? Welcome to the club
  16. Nice fish and great pic. He certainly is the crappie hunter.
  17. BMW R100RS - 220km/h - it still had more, I didn't. BMW R65 - w/cruise control on I slid back to the passenger seat and rode no hands at 100km/h. I haven't even started my bike since my daughter was born 8yrs ago.
  18. The cars built closest to me are the Corolla and Matrix. I laugh when guys at work give me a hard time. They buy sunfires, rendezous, HHRs and aztecs built in Mexico and think they are supporting our economy. Most people don't have a clue where their car was built. I had a Ford once, it was the only car I ever owned that needed an engine & transmission replacement. Nuf said.
  19. Admitting to your addiction is the first step in the right direction. Hanging out with more addicts...is always good Nobody likes a quitter
  20. Not saying anything negative about the place. If there were no fish to be had, the white bucket brigade wouldn't be there. Just thought maybe you should take a white bucket along so as not to feel out of place.
  21. Just drove across the causeway coming home from Pigeon today. I told the wife to look out the window at the "white bucket brigade". She asked why I call them that. Then she saw for herself. Maybe a dozen fishermen at 10:30am.
  22. Well done. Lots of good bass in Orangeville, and no gas burners to stink the place up. Lots of rental options Urban, including kayaks, canoes, and tin boats with electric trolling motors. Your inflatable would be fine as long as it is not a really windy day.
  23. Now that's up to date Thanks Smokey
