Not gunna lie... I didnt read the report... But oh man those are some nice gar.... They're huge... Nice angling man...

I know guys that have tested the red hook theory by putting one on the front of their cranks and one on the back of the other persons cranks... They swear It changed how the fish hit... If it was on the back the fish were lightly hooked by the back hook most of the time.... And the cranks with the red hook on the front... The walleye would take in the whole bait or T-bone it... But I dont think it more fish in the boat them using black hooks... Just changed how the fish hit the bait... But that's in shallow crystal clear water... I just use black hooks...

I've fizzed fish and from what I can tell it works... Got a 30 inch walleye jigging in 45 feet of water... Bladder came up... So I "fizzed" it with a needle I keep in my box... Fish stayed alive and well and upright in my livewell for several hours before I figured it would survive... When it was released it took off like a bullet... I've also done it with smaller fish I wanted to keep alive till I was done fishing... Works fine... Mind you I hope I never have to do it again on a big fish... But I wasn't gunna eat a 30 inch walleye... So I figured there was no harm in trying...

Usually of you have to burn to keep em spinning AND the blades keep skipping you got a bad product.... You may be able to fix it by bending the blades or flattening the cup of the blades with some pliers.... But next time I'd go with a Handlebarz inline instead....

I didn't say it was true... I said according to the link someone else posted it was true... And what the heck do I know about pike dancing across tge surface of the water...? That's why I asked...
-
According to this site... http://www.fish.state.pa.us/images/pages/qa/fish/musky_odd.htm ... He's right... I thought he was kidding till I read the info in the link... Now I'm thinking there may be something to it... I see musky jumping all the time... And I don't mean busting the surface in an attack... I mean like clear the water by a few feet sometimes...

Don't need a license till he's 18... Other then that I can't help... -
And ive never broken a rod in a vehicle...
-
Just run the rods up the middle of your car... I have a pickup... Ex cab... And I can get 8.5 foot one piece musky rods inside it... So I'd imagine they shoul fit in your 4 runner...
-
And if all else fails... Fill some 2liter pop bottles and put them in bow storage compartments until it runs the way you want... Then pick up some weights of equal weight to the water... They take up less space...
-
Did you try getting on plane and then backing off the throttle? That helped when I was playing with my boat weight... Were you by yourself in the boat...? A second person might be all the weight you need... Is there a bow livewell by any chance??? If so you could fill it for weight...
-
Yup... Usually a weight issue... If I remove my bow mount AND battery from the bow I bounce like crazy.... But if I leave the battery up there its ok...

Thanks guys... And thanks for the link grimace... I've seen gar swimming with beaks out of the water... Bit not the entire head... Choking down a meal sounds like it makes sense... Very cool sight to see

Was fishing yesterday and saw what I thought was a muskrat or beaver... Until I looked closer... It was a pretty big pike swimming with its head out of the water!!!! Over 10 FOW... And I don't mean I coul see the top of its head... I could see tge whole head right to the gills... And it swam like this for about 100 feet... I've never seen this before... Has anyone else ever seen this? Does anyone know why it was doing that?

Glad your effort payed off... Good job ...

YouTube is pretty good but there's too many people with video titles that don't match the video... ... -
NO BANANAS!!!!!!!! Definately no bananas in this guys boat.... But that's not a myth... It's a superstition.... Myth... You need to use large lures to catch musky... Not true... It helps... But I catch plenty of musky while walleye fishing with 3-5 inch cranks...Big ones too... Myth... You can't catch walleye at high noon with bluebird skies in "shallow" water...Nonsense... I don't start catching fish untill around 10-11am... And they bite the rest of the day and into the night without slowing down at all...and I fish less then 20 FOW in very clear water... Myth... Walleye stop feeding for a period of time at dark... Nope... They consistently bite right through sunset and into the night... They are however on the move for a period of time... You just have to intercept them... These are my opinions based on experience... I have nothing other then experience to back them up...

Jacks getting so big/older Great report and amazing pics... Paradise -
Nice catch... As for the gulp... As a hook and bait set up gulp is hit and miss... But gulp being jigged...casted... Trolled... Etc where it's a more aggressive method... That's when this stuff shines... Try those gulp minnows on your worm harnesses for walleye... Or on a jig/float for crappies... They do work...really well...

If I knew what the heck these lures were or where to find then I would help... But I can't... No black list with me...

Anyone know the results of the fishing tournament
mike rousseau replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like an awesome tourny... Our walleye tournaments are amateur at best... All fish are released at the weigh in dock... Cooler for a pre weigh in tank... Fished weighed in a plastic tub on a deli scale.... And the only fish that seem to die do so before the weight in... I've only ever seen one dead walleye(that I can remember) on the river...in my life... And it was decapitated... -
i agree the government could probably care less about the education side of it... but some people that are taking the test and studying and learning... and to this guy... thats sees crazy amounts of stupidity on the water all the time... even if a few people out of a hundred learn a bit... thats better then nobody learning anything...
-
yes and no... i believe its the government wanting money... but on the other hand i have friends that knew nothing about boating safety and they studied and passed... now they have at least some common knowledge... they didnt even know what a buoy was before the test... sure i could have done the test for them... but i wouldnt be doing ANYBODY any favors...
-
and its people like you that make the card a joke... for every boater that gets a "friend" like you to take the test... thats another uneducated weapon on the water that may hurt or kill my family... thanks champ...
