  1. HT acucast is by far the best ice real I have used... $30 It is even angled specifically for ice rods... Due to the close proximity of the real and the first eye... Those are my two cents... I really hope you go with my advice... I own 5 myself
  2. I have one ... It's not bad but very hard to see in daylight...
  3. Gander mountain has there own brand of rod... They have planer board models... $30.00 usd I bought two last fall and paired them up with diawa accudepth line counter reals ... I got size 27 and they hold a tonn of line... Both combos cost me $180.00 total
  4. Long sault... 30 minutes west of the famous Lancaster but just as tasty... And lots over 10"
  5. I have a clam fish trap pro and I've had my girlfriend in there with me.... It's a large one man flip over and it may fit into a car with flip down back seats... Just put a new tent on it... I'll take $250
  6. ended up with 5.5 pounds from 35 perch!
  7. hers some of the jumbos i caught on new moon last week and old faithful...the micro jigging rap including one canibal...lol... i think perch pattern is my new go to for perch?
  8. I have a 16 foot Lund with a 40hp and love my roller trailer... I can launch in less than a foot of water by myself... As long as the bottom of the lights are touching water I'm in good shape!
  9. Be a good dad to my new fishing partner who should show his face on walleye opener... A little baby boy... Connor
  10. This is true... But like I said the shack is pretty high up... Anyways the previous posts were a great help and my extension is on it's way....
  11. I built an ice shack this year and once I was fishing in it I realized that once the ice gets to be 12 I dont think I'll make it threw the ice... I have a 8" fin bore auger that does not fold... I was wondering if anybody knows if there are extensions for this auger and were I might find one... Thanks to anyone that leaves me some info...
  12. I'm having issues with my ice shack skis... 4x4 s were too blunt and didn't have enough clearance... Today I put 2x10 s on now my shack looks like a sky-scraper...and it will be hard to drill holes when my plywood is 1 1/2 feet off the ice. What do you guys think is the right height???
  13. i believe the original add said "nothing throws a dog like a st.croix"... meaning nothing throws a bulldog like a st.croix...thats why there is a dog and not a cat or squirel or baby duck...etc...
  14. Oh yeah... I bought a 1998 Lund explorer1600 with a 40 Honda tiller and dad bought a 2004 ranger 620t 115 Johnson tiller...
  15. If possible... Come back threw quebec... You save enough on taxes at the border to cover the cost of your trip and cover the vehicle transfer fee on your trailer... Also get the bill of sale separate for the boat... Motor... And trailer and get the seller to put most of the cost on the motor.... This will also save you tax money... Me and my dad have both bought boats in the us it's so easy I can't believe more people dont do it Also method of payment usually has to be cash unless you wanna stay for 48 hours for the bank to clear an "international check"... Bull right... But if it's less than $10,000 you don't have to declare the cash.... If its over that you have to fill out a form... No biggy
  16. very strange and frustrating...guess i'll have to drive to gander mountain in platsburge and SMUGGLE em back...
  17. sweet story...just the kind to warm you up during this poo weather...
  18. what the hell... i was doing my christmas shopping at cabelas.com and when i whent to "check out" i was notified that they wouldn't ship sparkle crappie nibbles to canada...? but regular crappie nibles were OK does anyone know why? and does anyone know were to get em near ottawa or montreal?
  19. Sorry... My vexilar was $300 American at gander mountain
  20. i picked up a vexilar fl-8 ultra pack and had a blast with it... the only downside is no zoom mode... but most of my fishing is in lessthan 30 fow so its ok for me... threw the ice the flashers are in ther element because you stay on top of what the flasher is reading...in a boat you are usualy passing over fish and structure so you require a sceern that holds some kind of image so you can see everything... believe it or not...last year i was jigging for walleye using my vex and watched one come up to my spoon... i changed my cadence to a faster action and i watched my minnow fall of the spoon and begin to sink... dropping just as fast was the walleye chasing the minnow and after the free meal left the area...without my vex i would not have known that anything happened at all
  21. If you have an iPhone... Navionics great lakes map is only 10 bucks!!! And your iPhone is a gps... I tested it and it was bang on... $10 I was a little upset because I paid over $200 for my navionics map!
