Tried for some lake trout in Cobden today on muskrat lake with little success... Other than two pike... Two rockbass... And a nice smallmouth... But no trout... These lake trout seem very hard to locate and catch... But then again... I don't know lakers... I'm a walleye guy... Any tips?

I have a location were I have seen several carp get hooked up... Mostly on small panfish bugs... My buddy actualy landed one... A healthy 15-20 pounder on 4 pound test... Ice been told in the cold weather you don't want to bait much and your hookbait should be small and spicy! Tabasco... Cyenne pepper... Etc... And if you can't see bottom you should use a very small float to detect strikes... Carp move too slow in tge winter for bolt rigs... Good luck in your hunt... I'm starting my carp hunt thus weekend...

Anybody out there with an iPhone... You need to get this app! Fish calendar It uses the sun and moon phases in a formula or something and it shows you all the times if day for bite windows... It also gas a general estimated efficiency for the day... I've been testing this app since about October and it is incredible how accurate it is... Keep in mind this is a guidline... Local weather can still trump a full moon or a sunset... But I highly decibels this app... I think it's 5 bucks... It's worth it guys... And if you pair this app with the navionics app you'll be unstoppable...$15

I walked it before and I'm nit too pumped about doing it again... But it was worth it last time... We caught fish and had a couple pigs on as well... Maybe I should spread my wings and try another area till I buy a toy to help get me out there... Any ideas on an area with a shorter walk...

You can pull them folded up no problem... However bringing your gear out with you is the problem... It will take both your hands... Unless you always have company with you or a third hand... You should look for a flip over style shack
