  1. Are there many good areas on tge eastern end of lake O? I'm coming from the east... Near Ottawa and Montreal
  2. So are they pretty much everywhere along shore or in bays closest to river mouths or at river mouths??? The video I saw the guys were right near Toronto... You could see the cn tower in the background
  3. In early spring... Like end of march?? And correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like they are fishing very close to shore... In about 10 feet of water
  4. Just wondering if anybody targets browns or rainbows on lake O by boat... Ive seen videos on YouTube of guys trolling planer boards close to shore and getting browns and I thought that it would be fun to try and give me a chance to go for a boat ride...
  5. There is an area where I live were this happens sometimes.... The water is usually deep enough to survive... But if there is too much snow you don't get sun penetration to create oxygen...
  6. to curve the rig you can wrap the rig around something like a pop can and hold it over a steaming kettle and the steam will curve the line without damaging the line...
  7. wondering if anybody knows were i can buy halibut pellets in eastern ontario... im not talking about 1kg bags of dynamite hook baits im looking for large bag like 20kg or bigger of small pellets ... 10mm or smaller... i want them for use in pva bags and in my spod mix for carp fishing thnx for any help fellas mike
  8. Salmon river in pokaski ny.... Huge river with tonnes of access and loads of fish... From the looks of google earth it's one of the biggest tribs to lake O
  9. Lebaron has several lines of Wetskins Rainsuits... I got one for about $120 and am pleased with it... Nice bib pants ... Very high collar on the jacket... Very protective hood... And an extra zipper inside for an extra liner...( If you can find one that fits... I couldn't...)
  10. i usualy dont fish on much bait... 5-10 boilies spread out... and 5-10 every time i get a fish the only time i fish on a lot of bait is when i wanna do some pasty bashing... thats usualy when i fish corn... my pb with corn is only 27lbs... but with boilies i get several 30lb+ fish every spring... boilie pb is 36lb 12oz... and the locations i fish corn are known for having large fish in them... one of the fish i have spotted on several occasions was around the 40lb mark... i will try fishing outside the "zone"... cant hurt
  11. dont you find your average carp is smaller on the smaller baits like corn??? im not saying you cant catch large carp on small baits... but if your sifting threw little guys all day your bait wont be in the water as much as if you used a big bait i went from corn to 20mm boilies and my average size of carp shot threw the roof... however... my number of fish caught dropped slightly... i then tried double boilie set up and my average size went up again! my theory is that if smaller fish (10lbs and less) arent able to take in your bait so easily... then it will give the big boys im after (25lbs and up) a lot more time to take your bait...
  12. I'm guessing you got em on tubes in June?
  13. I love strawberry kook-aid on my corn... Does that groundbait you use break up nice in the water... ? how do you find all these ingredients... i have a hard time finding small feed were i live... or do you grind up the larger chunks of feed?
  14. just wondering what you guys are using to land those golden giants ive been leaning pretty heavy on dynamite baits monster tiger nut boilies i also like maize and im gunna try dynamite baits- spicy tuna and sweet chili this season... ive read that it works well... especialy in cold water... im also gunna try groundbait this year for something new... mike
  15. Thanks hammercarp... I'm looking to bait with it so u guess I need some ground bait...
  16. just getting geared up for spring carp fishing and was wondering about baiting with something other than boilies and corn... i was wondering what the difference was between method mix... packbait... and groundbait... from what i can tell you use it the same... but the style of ingredients changes a bit between the types of bait... so is there a difference? what is it? how do you decide wich to use if there is a difference?
  17. I heard that the juice is devastating on boat carpit... I always keep it in my splashwell ... I also rig it on there too... I've had some freeze... No bigy ../ just thaw it out and your good to go!
  18. He's probably thinking about a north American carp tournament series...
  19. ... Not what I meant.... But think of it this way... Carp have been here over 100 years... They aren't going anywhere! So wouldn't you rather see me and my buddies on the bank fishing for "garbage fish" instead of your favorite spot for bass... Walleye... Or musky?
  20. This is the publicity carp angling needs! If somebody in a position like this is calling carp sport fish... Then maybe the closed minded dummys that constantly bash carp fishing will follow suit...
