  1. And the filter was $5 And tge primer was $6
  2. I'm taking all the advice given... And thanks a lot... You've all been helpful... But once I realized my gas was draining out of the line back to the tank... Made me think that it is the check valve in the primer... If not... New lines.... I haven't done the lines because I hate the cheap crap lines at CT stores... Stiff as hell... The stuff I use stays soft and suple for years and years... But can't get it on the weekend...
  3. Why not replace the whole fuel system...? I'm doing one thing at a time trying to save money...
  4. changed the filter and ran the motor at low rpms for a bit... and it seems my filter is emptying way to fast... like its draining back to the tank... so i think you guys are right about the primer bulb... so im gunna go get one and change that before i take it for a ride later... and the old fuel filter seemed to be clean... i blew on the intake of the new and old filters with equal resistance... also... some of my fuel line connections only have the spring type clamps... and i watched the fuel filter when i primed it and the connection leaked a bit... so im gunna get some small hose clamps to tighten up those connections properly... hopefully ill have an update later today...and hopefully its good news...
  5. Congrats... I'm in the same boat... Getting married in 2 weeks... And we want to go on an early summer trip as a honeymoon... But having a hard time finding something we will both enjoy... Me fishing...her...I don't remember...I wasn't listening...lol We are leaning towards a trip to the adarondacks in NY state... Only an hour or 2 away from us... Great fishing...hiking...shops... Other then that I can't find a place we will both enjoy...
  6. Air was open... I've forgot it before and my Honda will colapse the tank before it effects performance... I'm gunna try a new fuel filter today since I already have a spare... If that doesn't work I'll borrow the tank and line off of my dads boat... Hopefully one of those 2 works... I'm really hoping the fuel filter works do I don't have to go to the cottage to get dads tank... And they do make fuel pump kits for outboards... All makes except Honda...lol... That's why I changed the whole fuel pump... ...
  7. From my understanding...wich is based only on Internet research... Is that if it was a problem at the tank (portable in my boat) the primer ball would go soft... And it's staying firm... At least there are only so many things to slow down fuel... Thanks
  8. I find temps matter in spring because that's how fish know when to do things like stage or spawn... And with some fish it will determine fish activity levels... Like carp... I've found they get really active in 50+ degree water... In the summer I couldn't care less about water temps... Then it the fall it matters again... At certain temps walleye start moving to fall/winter holding areas in big numbers...
  9. lol ive seen some pretty big complicated panels before...pretty intimidating...hundreds of wires... makes it hard to color code...lol im just saying... the wiring could be made way more simple then it is... i know... i rewired my lund front to back... now if something goes its super easy to figure out what happened... 2-3 steps....max...problem is solved...
  10. until you have to troubleshoot something i prefer having a terminal strip with a power supply and 2 wires a red and black... one piece wire all the way to the electronic equipment... with a fuse depending on the equipment... very few connections... at the power and at the equipment... but im a big guy and dont like twisting into tight places and standing on my head with a flashlight trying to figure out what harness broke... but thats just me... i like things the easy way....
  11. got out for a bit this morning for some perch... they were biting REALLY good... they were hitting everything we threw at em... all kinds of plastics... and the plastics were almost keeping up with the shiners... however... the temps and the winds were a bit too much for me to fish perch... wet hands when its 3-4 degrees out and blowing 30+km/h sucks... so we packed up after only an hour and a half of fishing with 25-30 keepers... no pigs...but nice fish... so we decided to go give carp a try... we THOUGHT we would be warmer on shore... nope still cold and the fishing was really slow... only had one bite and saw one fish jump... but we did manage to warm up a bit... we collected some dry grass and some dry wood and had a little fire on the bank...that warmed us up for a bit until the rain came...then we packed up and headed home... so i guess its March again...lol
  12. its amazing how complicated they make it... that wiring looks overcomplicated to me for boat electronics... all those plugs and harnesses... glad you got her figured out Lew...
  13. very cute... now you have the mamas boy and the daddy's girl... your a lucky guy..
  14. same here.... also got my fuel filter in the states... shipped to the border for $90 total... to buy in cornwall... $190+tax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! always trying to save a buck
  15. im leaning towards fuel filter... ive been running seafoam in every tank all fall and winter... so i dont think something got gummed up.... and my boat was used all winter...so gas didnt sit... i think ill try the filter tomorrow... keep the suggestions coming guys... thanks
  16. ok... so my 2000 honda 40hp 4 stroke seems to starving for gas after running wide open for a minute or so... it idles fine... planes out and runs at full power for about a minute breather on gas tank IS open primer ball remains firm ive already replaced the fuel pump fuel filter has fuel in it when it starts to lose power if i pump the primer ball it gets some more power back... thats what made me think it was the fuel pump... please help... thanks mike
  17. thats actually a technique in carp fishing...lol i call em blow ups... you can see bubble trails on the surface and see where the carp are feeding... then cast in the area they are feeding... it actually works... the bubbles are coming from the rotting debris on the bottom... im 100% serious...
  18. unless you use one of the many spinnerbaits that have a twist at the eye forming a complete loop...
  19. welcome... feel free to ask questions...there are some good carp anglers here that fish different styles... youll get lots of good answers to most questions...
  20. also in situations that require really heavey leaders or metal leaders...... like musky fishing... its easier to have a snap on one end and a swivel on the other instead of trying to tie a blood knot from your 100lb braid to your 100lb floro... then try tying a knot to you lure with 100lb floro... snaps and swivels are way easier...
  21. depends on your fishing technique i would think... i use these for cranks... and i love em... http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Terminal-Tackle/Swivels-Snaps-Clevises|/pc/104793480/c/104779980/sc/104616180/Cabelas-Premium-Duolock-Snaps-Black/702222.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-terminal-tackle-swivels-snaps-clevises%2F_%2FN-1100372%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104616180%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253Bcat104793480%253Bcat104779980&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104793480%3Bcat104779980%3Bcat104616180
  22. try replacing the horn with something else... maybe a light or something... if it works... your horn is no good.... only so many things that can be bad...horn...connections...broken wire...switch... powers supply...
  23. well... my next step if you have access to the horn would be to put alligator clamps from the connections on the horn directly to a battery to test the horn... other then that... sounds like a strange situation lew.... do those orange and white wires go to a panel of some sorts... i had something similar happen to me with my lights... ended up being a corroded connection on the switch panel broke off.... just me playing with the wires was the straw that broke the camels back i guess...
