  1. Brighton Bay has a great launch. Largemounth ,Pike and anything else that swims in from Lake O. protected water. You might get spooled from a salmon . Launch $5 honor system.
  2. It's just criminal paying a guide to shiner fish. Florida bass are stupid around wild shiners.
  3. The salmon are done by 2nd week Oct and the salmon crowd go away. It's true the salmon crowd are a little more low end. I switch to trout fishing, week days not to bad for crowds weekend not so much. Most years I fish threw winter and when the March break hooligan crowd starts I drop in and visit. My goal is 100 trout each year.
  4. Turkey Lake is the best deal $30 for flat bottom boat and trolling motor. No live bait from about 7am to 10;30. Its rite in Orlando.
  5. There's a huge difference between fishing artificial and shiners. I wouldn't pay a guide to fish shiners rent a boat buy a dozen Shiner (very expensive ) and get after it. Live shiners fixes everything.
  6. The last couple years has been much better. Don't think the town has given increased enforcement enough time. I think it's a racist thing. The locals see lot's of lesser skilled anglers show up and would like to blame them for slicing fish and dumping carcass. These lesser skilled anglers want the whole fish. It's the skilled slob anglers that slice and dump. I've seen it over and over.
  7. Can you try your unit on different power supply .
  8. Not having enough from the trolling motor battery is common. Don't turn the key 20 times it won't get better. Check your battery connection. Make sure they are clean and tight. Try the key. Move to your jumper cables. Try the key ounce. Make sure you have good connection try the key 1 time. Now the hard part your main starting battery is just to dead. Leave cables attached and wait 30 minutes and 45 would be better. This allows your good trolling motor battery to charge main. That's 30 minutes of no key turning you do and you start over. And you have limited opportunity's so do it right. I bought my power pack from Costco think it was $100. I don't carry my pack with because your fish finder will tell you to start the main and I've used the above procedure for 30 years.
  9. I have 4 bank charger 15/bank. Just ordinary bass day when I come home it's 3 hrs to top up main battery. That's mostly my style of fishing short runs and extended time on trolling motor.
  10. Go with the copolymer great abrasion resistance.
  11. As stated it's a good idea to charge your cranking battery after each outing.
  12. Hummingbirds seem really sensitive to low volts. My lowrances not so bad. It's not to much problem for finders alone . Add live well, radio bilge, and making short runs with big motor. If your shuts unit off start engine immedaitly.
  13. Being a 2017 I'm guessing a marina wired your electronics into your trolling motor battery's. If that's the case I would careful be with this dealer. When you get them hooked to your main starting battery they will still shut down if you spend a great deal of time in ones spot running a bunch of stuff. Immediately start your big motor if your finder shuts down and let run for a bit.
  14. You never know what Top Gun has around .
  15. Are the tires tracking crocked and how noticeable is it.
  16. Nothing better than being dealt the cards to negotiate.
  17. So you found a bad dealer then you found a good dealer ? Nows the time to start the negotiations that's worth 3 free oil changes on top of the free ones you get.
  18. If you are buying new GM you should be negotiating in exacter oil changes, the most I've got is 6. Couple hats maybe a jacket or a shirt. That's why those sales rep are wearing those shirts. I go to jiffy lube an pull the hood and get and watch buddy take off the filter and watch the new one being installed. I can see buddy go get the synthetic. If buddy says you need a new plug and washer it's no charge Jiffy lube did it. I did plenty oil changes I just don't do them anymore. I've also showed my wife the process. She was mad in the beginning but takes great pleasure in knowing how to check level ect now.
  19. Dalrymple another fun lake. Be very careful the channel between the lakes idle only many many rocks.
  20. The marina is on the Galway rd 10 in 10 out but a very good launch. Thiers another on Crystal Lake rd on Southside by dam. On a downhill and a corner parking for about 5 and dicey at best. Fun Lake.

  22. Hooks are fish passing threw your cone and a line across the screen is a stationary fish.
  23. You would just change your bottom for each lake or situation. And I agree with doing the Transducer thing then move to the installation.
  24. You should run your depth in manual. This way if it will cycle threw 0 to 30 ft and not 0 - 10,0000 ft. Don't run power threw fuse block with all other wiring. The correct way is to run dedicated wires from unit to starting battery. So with my bass boat 2 wires from front to back and 2 more from console to starting battery. I also wrap areas with electric tape for a little more protection. Also my trolling motor wires go down the other side. If I was to up grade these to dual console units and dual units up front I would up grade to 6 gauge wire and a stainless buse up to my console and run all units off this. 1 common mistake is to wrap transducer cable in a ball and tape. This makes a coil increasing frequency's. 2 different makes Lowrance are 200 and Hummingbird 187 frequency . You need to keep transducer cable separate as much as possible and tape area's where not possible. I would run cables down transom at different locations.
