Point Au Baril area is really nice. Lots of resort cottages like you're looking for, tons of scenery, good fishing for bass and panfish that time of year too. You've also got Parry Sound close and so is Killbear for day trips. I took my wife to Rock Pine Resort last year and we had a great weekend. Solid, reliable boat packages with 16 footers and Yammy's. They had a fantastic beach area too! We went around pike opener but with the early warm weather we couldn't key in on a pattern in 2 days. We got a few plus a handful of really nice OOS bass. Check out that area, you might find something that suits your family's needs. Cheers, Jesse

I will for sure! Good luck up there and take lots of pics...we like pictures lol!

Those all sound like winners to me! I'm itching to hit Algonquin Park for my first time also. When my uncle was alive he and my cousin used to do the opening weekend trip for 4-5 nights. The stories they'd come back with left me in awe, but I have yet to tackle it myself. Maybe next year will be the year Good luck getting your daughter into fishing! I pushed mine a little hard a couple weeks ago and she got cold feet I may have turned her off ice fishing for a while lol. We'll still have a day or two left on Simcoe to try and make up for it! With all these trips planned, we'll be in store for some killer reports this year! I can't wait for them to start rolling in

Good score on the job buddy ....although, won't it take a lot of time away from ?? lol Maybe we can set something up to fish there again this year. My wife is very jealous of this trip we're taking and demanding that I take her on at least one fishing weekend this summer! Maybe once bass season opens up in PAB, we'll make our way up. She really liked Rock Pine last year, we just wish the fishing would've been better. But what can ya do? lol This thread is turning into a fun read, so many great sounding trips in the works! And a few fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants gigs as well...I love both and will be doing some of the same myself throughout the year.

I'm in the process of planning our first outpost trip in September to celebrate my Dad's 50th birthday. We'll be staying with 7 Lakes Wilderness Camps on Marshall Lake which is just north of Nakina, ON. We'll be there from August 31 to September 7, targeting walleye and big pike. The lake also holds a healthy population of whitefish and perch, so we hope to have some whities to bring home for the smoker! With 7 Lakes Outfitters having the only camp on the lake, we're excited to enjoy the seclusion of the north and the fantastic fishing it has to offer. Does anybody else have trips they're planning for this year? Where are you going and what will you be targeting? Do you have any tips or tactics for "newbies to the far north?" Let's hear you plans!! Cheers, and stay safe this next week Jesse

Hey Bill, I'm up for that! If you can get in touch with him by other means, apart from here, feel free please. I'd like to try and have this done ASAP. Thanks guys. And for the heads up on HD Art. Jesse

Yes, we got it from Home De-pot. They offer removal and replacement, but it was suggested we could get ours done cheaper by finding our own guy. Maybe we should just call one of their guys, and go from there. Thanks for the responses guys, cheers!

Hi all, I'm looking for someone in the Barrie area to install a new dishwasher my wife and I bought Friday. It will be a new install not a replacement, there was never one in the house. I got one response from a contractor site that was shady right off the bat, wanting to "tap into" an existing power source. I have a friend whose house burned down from this kind of install so I'll be damned if I let some fly-by-night contractor do this to us. Especially with a child in the house and another on the way! Any good references out there guys/gals? What should we expect to pay to remove cupboards, run water and electrical lines? Should we be looking for a plumber, electrician, or both? Thanks guys, Jesse

Start them with a hammer, twist them in by hand 3-4 inches. Takes all of 3 mins to get it anchored and banked with snow

I just ran into Mrs. Canning, who is a long time friend of the family and former hut rental operator. She has just informed me that they will be selling minnows this ice season to supply anglers in and around the Barrie area. They are located at Minet's Point in Barrie, on the south shore of Kempenfelt Bay. Great to hear a local business still making it here in town! Good luck to all this ice season, stay safe and may your catches be plentiful! Jesse

Show them where the water is, show them where the forest is and tell them to keep an eye on each other. They'll make their own fun, just like I'm sure you did at that age! Don't make the simple life harder than it needs to be -
hahaha! I coudn't stop laughing at this! I have a maroon bucket, a blue bucket, and.....gassssppppp.....a black bucket! Where the hell do i fit in???
