  1. I don't have much knowledge of whities outside Simcoe, but with that amount I do have, I'd try flutter spoons and Meegs jigs on structure right next to the deep basins. Spoons for suspended, chasing fish, and jigs to slay them once they're located. Scattered boulders don't hurt either. But without electronics that can be pretty tough. Anchor with plenty of rope is a must, like mentioned above. Good luck, go get em!
  2. WOW! What a great report buddy Killer pics, great fishing, a couple PB's and time well spent with pops...what more can you ask for?!?! That's the trip of 2 or 3 lifetimes!
  3. Well the rain didn't really cooperate for us Sunday but we set out anyway to see what we could find. Our travels took us up Hwy 11 to Washago and we ended up at the town park. Perfect for the kids and we were content to just let them roam for awhile in their rain gear, playing in the slop! We were next to the public launch with a great dock so we hung out there for awhile and got into a couple perch and a rock bass! The carp thing didn't work out but the kids had fun and it was a good day in the rain!! Trying to attach pics from my cell, but not working. I'll try again later Jesse
  4. Thanks guys, maybe we'll give it a go in Collingwood.
  5. Hello all I'm looking for direction on where I could take my wife and 2 girls shore fishing for carp? We've never targeted carp before so it will be a learning day as well as a fun day for the girls. I have no idea where to start but was thinking the park in Wasaga near the mouth may give us a chance at carp or even a kitty-fish! We live in Barrie so Simcoe to Georgian Bay is where we're looking. Any direction is greatly appreciated Thanks gang! Jesse
  6. Nice report! New waters are always rewarding to figure out The pickerel you speak of is a nickname given to walleye. Chain, grass and redfin pickerel are of the esox family. Sometimes also referred to as Southern pike. When we go pickerel fishing down home in N.B., it's grass/chain pickerel we're after
  7. I've been using my X67c ice ducer on the bottom of my boats for 6-7 years. Anything over 10-15km/h and it's not ideal but will mark bottom contour and depth. Over 20km/h and you're lucky to mark depth. Hope that helps...
  8. ^^ yup I just did the same lol Nice fish! Good call on the location change
  9. Nice little rig Are you thinking of a production run of some sort?
  10. LOST ROD THIS MORNING BETWEEN 7:00 - 7:30am between 9th of Oro boat launch and Oro Reef. Noticed it gone when we stopped to check Navionics. It's a 32" MH Zebco Rhino with a red tip section and a Mitchell Avocet reel. If found you can call or text 705 795 8121. I can offer a handful of new style Meegs jigs as reward Thanks, Jesse
  11. X3Knows his stuff and puts clients on fish! Class act all the way
  12. ^^^ yup, exactly where I was headed with my last post lol. Some guys...
  13. After reading the posts by those that offered help, it seems you're well on your way with this project. Free skis in Millbrook, and the offer of a damn fine handyman, BigCliff, in Lindsey. So for probably half a tank of fuel and a half days time, you've got yourself a Smitty sled... I'd say OFC/C just showed some wicked hospitality
  14. Great day out my friend :-D We'll do it again real soon, only a few more weeks left now. Cheers until next time, Jesse
  15. What a day dude! Nice going on the dinner fish A machine is deff in your future for next year!! Let's get more Monday I think #720 rings a bell... He's paired up with a plastics supplier - Impact Baits.
  16. Here's my ice fishing ride, a 1988 Yamaha Enticer 340. Purchased Dec 2013 for $750. Ran great last year right up to closing day March 15 when I attempted to run from Oro Line 11 back to Barrie. I made it right to my front door, but had to stop 8-10 times for overheating plugs. It's getting a new coil, fuel pump and lines this week. A late start but there's still plenty of fishing to be had
  17. Awesome report Emil!! Great to see your boys slammin fish with you I knew that good thing could only last so long after all the "trolling" they did around us last week. Now I don't even know if I want to go there tomorrow... My fuse and patience is a LOT shorter than yours! And I won't have my kids there to make me think twice lol.
  18. Fun fun morning...for you guys!! I missed all the action and had to settle for one 3lber around noon. Great report Ice And thanks for the K-9 transportation Back in Meegs, that ice was way slippery for the pooch. So she rode in a toboggan lol

  21. Word from a local I spoke to down there at noon today said yes, they are. An apparent suicide is the rumor, one last walk...

  23. Hahahaha! I keep misplacing mine, and my wife always asks where the hell all the butter knives went! ... But I can't remember
