install a fuel/water separator kit.

I had an attempt a while back. The boat was a new 20' Crestliner Sportfish that was parked beside the house and alarm installed with 3 bullhorns in the boat. I also installed a on/off switch on the tilt motor and switch to off when parked in the house. I lower the front of the trailer and tilt the motor full down, then switch tilt motor off. Five thieves kept trying to hook up my trailer with the alarm going, they had covered one horn, got thwarted by my neighbour who heard the alarm. Damage to the skeg, but saved my boat.

did you attach the kill switch?

don't matter if the brake lights are not working, u will be charged with following too close if you hit him. You hit him, it's an at-fault to your record.

Posession Limits-for non license holders
didoban replied to asdve23rveavwa's topic in General Discussion
It only state the possession limit for those that have the fishing license. It doesn't state possession limit for non-licenced person. Since it is not stated in Ministry, the non-licensed person can accept and keep as many fish as that person want. If you gave your fish away and you have less than allowable limit in your possession, then you're good to go. I don't condone it and subject to abuse, but that is the way it is written. It should be revised. This is only my opinion, and how I see it. -
We use mostly Fin S in 3" or smaller. We also have variety of small baits, what works now might not work tomorrow. I keep changing until i find a pattern.

I thought my boat couldn't get any more ghetto

looked weak...and dangerous. the torque on the motor will bend those angle aluminum in no time. -
consider pre-fab...you have lots of options...just my 2 cents

congrats! nice boat..I was at the award ceremony... now get insurance for the boat...

check the tongue weight (10% of total weight) before driving away, front heavy will fishtail, not safe on the road. Bring a bathroom scale, good enough for now. Bow ring should be below the stop, not above. A bit small for LO, but I've seen smaller craft out there. U pick ur days, and have alternate plans. May look calm near shore, but off shore may be different. Good luck!

Outboard motor lock, of course. But I remove the cowling off and place outboard cover/bag over the motor to protect from element. If the thief wants it bad enough, they'll take it.

A 19 year old in '75, a 1967 mustang, paid $600 certified, $100 roadworthy insurance... wished I kept it. didn't have a picture of it.

I will be at Port Perry area tomorrow for bbq and probably go fishing after. Do you think the boat launch will be busy due to bass opening weekend? Is there a fishing tourney tomorrow?

Getting boat onto plane - am I doing something wrong?
didoban replied to allbusiness's topic in General Discussion
balance the load in your boat and try different pitch prop. I say lower pitch (will get you higher rpm, more punch at take off, slower top speed). -
had one. when i traded it in, i asked why the trade in is so low, the stealership said, its a ford! glad to get rid of it. enough said.

..just bought a bowmount minnkota 24 volts, 70 lb. power drive V2 and will be buying 2 new batteries. I'm looking at 140 or 180 reserve capacity. How long will I use it before recharging if used at med to high, stop and go fishing...mostly for positioning the boat rather than trolling. Will it last 10 hours running time before recharging? The 220 RC is a bit large in size for the limited space in my boat otherwise, I will get the higher rating battery.

maiden voyage for us this year, a bit late due to work. We'll be launching at Bluffers Park tomorrow, do you think we'll get into bow or salmon? I know its a bit early this at this part but u never know... using dipseys only...

Happy Easter!! Minnkota bowmount 70 PD, 24V, 60" Will be used mostly on small lakes, rivers, etc...not into tournament fishing. Is this good enough for my boat (crestliner alum 19 1/2', fish/ski type)? I previously had a Minnkota 80 lbs in this boat and it was ok. A friend is selling (to me only) came as packaged with his new 17' boat purchase.

have a Fx4 crewcab 04 f150, bought new. great towing capacity, ride is good, but.....had the muffler rusted prematurely and replaced, had problem with stalling, stealership keep flashing chip (didnot work) until they agreed to replace the throttle body. Replaced oxygen sensor. Replaced brake disc prematurely due to excessive wear and dust, need driveline lubrication periodically since new, they have bulletin for this work but Ford will not replace driveshaft, stealership couldn't figure out where the noise/clunk is coming from until I provided a bulletin from Ford truck forum. Spoke to their customer service dept. and they promised to call me back, but that was 3.5 years ago, I'm still waiting. I guess I'm stuck with this truck ... my first and last ford. Dealer will take it as a trade-in for 17K, bought new for 45k plus tax. Talk about depreciation. Had a Chev Suburban diesel before this and I am going back ...

For and against Water separator/Fuel filter
didoban replied to icefisherman's topic in General Discussion
go for a water/fuel separator. Its' a good cheap investment...especially for those boaters that do not use a lot of fuel during the season or those that keep less than full tank will collect condensation. I have a vmax with a see- thru separator and at different times during the season I get water in the separator. -
you only had it running a brief 10 seconds? Call the previous owner and ask if there are tricks up his sleeve. Do you have enough water pressure to the muffs when you started the motor?
