  1. last week at Lady Simcoe
  2. Stainless is better but I just use the cheaper ones. Replace as necessary usually when I lube the prop shaft yearly. Mostly to hold the castlenut in place, same as your trailer hub.
  3. tire repair kit and small 12 v air pump. Also, outboard motor lock if you leave the motor in the boat. Cheers!
  4. Great to be out yesterday. We're catching lots of perch, mostly dinks until we changed our pattern. Drifted across from around 27' and that's when we got better sizes. Marked lots of baitfish, you can actually see them near the surface. Threw the jig right at them, let it sink quickly and whamm, big ones just below them. If you can follow the bait clouds, ur into some big ones. We saw the anchored boat using minnows catching perch on the small side though, but fun none the less.
  5. assuming you have the right size prop and motor is set up correctly on your boat....change to a higher pitch prop than what you have now. u go faster at top end but suffer on take off.
  6. better to install a replacement when you remove it. but it can run without it but u will not get temp/optimum performance ur motor is designed to run...
  7. bumpers on the side when launching or docked....
  8. some tough hide these guys, no shirt in the middle of the lake...today a bit breezy and 16C ? must really be getting a workout hauling fish.
  9. assumming all the assumptions are right, then it got vandalized.....some people are jealous and will do crazy things. Boat near yours with hose attached to their livewell pump (some use to clean their boat) and pumped to your new boat. I know this is distorted but it had happened to us while we were docked and returned unexpectedly. We caught the idiot in the act. He was almost drowned and charged with mischief...Funny thing was, the wifey dropped kicked him to the water and asked question later. We returned the favour and gladly took the hose to his 30' cruiser while he stayed on another boat. Cop showed up about 2 hours later. He had more water in his boat than ours. You/Your boat will survive this misadventure.
  10. could be the thermostat not letting water thru...but I'll check the owners manual.
  11. and when you're boating, make sure you carry the registration with you...without the registration, a $300 fine...another grab!
  12. was down there and slow, slow, slow is the key for us today . 4" body bait (red/white and silver) tied direct, flatlining. Watch some boaters vertical jigging and they were doing alright. Left at 2pm, done for the year.
