  1. Hey guys, just came across this cool video and had to share it http://wimp.com/nightphotography/ I think the concept behind "light painting" is really cool. How long do these guys leave their shutters open for? Hours?
  2. Great Shot Brandon
  3. Nice fish Mike. Definetly looks like an Atlantic, but I'm sure the experts on here can make the call. With all of the trib action these days I love the occasional big lake report. Keep em comin!
  4. I want to land a few species that I've never caught before. - My biggest goal is to land a nice brookie on a a dry fly. I started to get into the small stream stuff at the end of last year, but I couldn't find one bigger than about 8". - I've never caught a crappie or a Musky. These are polar opposites on the gear and style spectrum but hopefully I get a chance to at least try for either. - I want to top my PB in for SM bass. I have access to a great smallie lake that gets very little fishing pressure at my cottage. Last year, my family put in a new floating dock with a detachable 8x12 piece that has a build in transom. Basically, it's a perfect casting deck, and my girlfriend can just suntan all day while I fish. My PB is a 21"er, but I know there's some pigs in there. I will target them on a fly for the first time. - Lastly, I hope to catch a Pike that isn't tiny. I've caught tons of pike, but never one greater than 30". I want to try getting out up north for some nice post spawn pike, possibly on flies. As you can tell I have flies on the brain. I'm addicted.
  5. lol, Lookinforwalleye, I thought of you when the fans at the ACC boo'd Chara whenever he touched the puck. Despite our oldschool rivalry, Leafs fans clearly have your back. I don't know why or how the bruins failed to show up tonight but this game is very fun to watch from a leaf perspective. As soon as Leaf playoff hopes are lost, the next best Canadian team becomes my focus. Hopefully the first round matchup is Habs v Bruins that would be awesome.
  6. This year my goal is to target some nickels on flies. I've been putting together a nice 8 wt setup and looking at some fly patterns. On that note, can anyone walk me through a basic mayfly pattern? The bass in my lake just annihilate these things mid summer. My brother and I termed them "bass candy" as kids, before we knew what they were called June can't come soon enough, but like many have noted theres tons of good fishin before then. I can't wait for the trout opener to break out the 4 wt for small streams. Also, I've never caught a crappie, so this year I hope to get out early and put some in the boat. Given how good the steeleheading has been lately it's easy to keep waiting
  7. Luke looked a little more like Braydon on that one. Great goal for sure
  8. Because Reimer can score goals, right?
  9. Haha, I want one of those ^
  10. So many brookies! Nice catches Doc,
  11. Nice fish man, that ice will be gone soon so good on you for getting out 1 more time.
  12. I think we should let the financial experts determine what the value of the company is, rather than make ridiculous claims backed by nothing on a fishing forum.
  13. great stuff man, I'm itchin to get out myself. Keep em comin!
  14. Looks like you did better on the hard water than I did Mike! Good to hear and thanks for the update.
  15. I'm a leafs fan but this made me laugh Since 1994 when the Teachers took over majority ownership, the team went from competing in conference finals, to being a steady playoff contender, to not making the playoffs, to the bottom 3-5. This year...well we'll just wait and see. All the while, over that 16 year time span, they earned a 1,600% return on their investment, assuming a sale goes through for 1.3 billion. Who says a team needs to win games to make money? Either way they had a sweet game last night. Go leafs go
  16. I'd use those in a heartbeat, they look great What kind of pike flies can you tie? Could you take some pics of them?
  17. Nice fish dude!
  18. Agreed, seems like Habs fans have a telepathic 6th sense, they can all clearly read Chara's mind as they claim "he knew exactly what he was doing". I'm just surprised it wasn't Subban who got drilled. Ever heard of ringette? Sounds like you would really like it. Or if that is too violent for you, there is always CIS Women's University hockey. Go Lions.
  19. DAVE CHECK YOUR FACEBOOK
  20. Congrats Brandon, your work is fantastic and you should be extremely proud. Keep em comin!
  21. CANT WAIT!!!
  22. You never wanna see that happen, but I don't think Chara's intent was to plow his face into the stanchion. I think he tried to finish his check and ride Pacioretty into the boards, taking him out of the play, but instead put too much into his check. Don't get me wrong, accidents still have consequences and I'm sure the league will come down on him, especially if Pacioretty is seriously injured afterward. But to me, it's just a crappy accident that can happen with hockey (like getting your face sliced up by a camera hole. I consider a check from behind 2-3 feet off the boards to be a much more egregious offense. Hopefully the kid is ok.
  23. These have probably been posted already, but these both got me really pumped up for this years pike and bass openers. This will be my first year targeting both on the fly rod. Does anyone recognize what kind of rod/reel this guy is using? Bass on the fly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlpVVKvrnu0 Watch how these Northerns stalk these long topwater flies, the jaws theme is always playing in my head Pike on the fly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NXj7tyJtto&feature=related Hopefully I'll be able to post some of my own vids this year!!
  24. I lost a childhood dog this way, I only hope and pray for the best for that family. Please, please be careful around heavy thaws and high rainfalls.
  25. I can't wait for this to air! Here's a sneak peak I saw on a different website. These guys take ice fishing to a whole new level
