I never minded the constructive criticism.it all helps... all the best!

  6. BRIAN, MY WALL MART TOP MANAGER GUY IS BRIAN, IM A LOSER FOR KNOWING I KNOW...AND HE IS A WEIRD FELLOW..
  7. BIG FLOATS. my rod is rated 1/8 - 3/8 Oz, 3/8th is 10g, so I dont go bigger to 12 or 14g. can I? but then wont my rod me to bouncy? i have a raven IM8 14ft.. when i first started, i used a 20g piker on the niagara. thats way to large isnt it?
  8. that sounds scary, thats like Niagara river flow.. wading, I know its a popular spot, but I wouldn't wade it without someone who knows it. there is a series of rocks below a low head dam I fish, one section there is about a 3.5 foot gap, only in about 5 feet of water on one side 2 feet on the other, but once the water level on the rocks your walking along goes from about 7 inches to 12+inches ,mid thigh.. its.. well sometimes i don't do it. esp when the water is brown..l water does scare me, but I wont seen to not stay out of it..
  9. try these for your winter outings.. www.simmsfishing.com/site/exstream_bootoots_08_lug.html# if i had the money i would.
  10. well, speaking for myself. my tip top guide on my rod is so small, on a gentle centerpin cast i cant get the rubber float stopper to glide through the top guide. on lakes with my spinning rod, i could set it at any depth 100+feet.know what i mean. larger guides, deeper water.. plus on rivers. even the niagara with my float rod, 12 foot depth is all i use from shore.. thats all you need, cast into a seam, hold it for a couple seconds, let it drift, and BAM.
  11. I have a 14 foot rod, I can run up to about 14 feet(13 better) with out it dragging on the ground and cast it. but prefer a slip float for deeper then that. but then again, I cant get the darn rubber line float stopper to get through my tip top guides on my cast with the float rod, any other spinning rod your fine. so yes you can fish 15+ with a Slip Float setup
  12. 8 years ago I went on a solo back backing trip in BC, the lake I hiked to was great, high in the mountains. went for a little swin walked along the mud shore, no sigh of anyone.anything. the next morning i woke from my shelter, went down to the lake to wash up, b4 I even made it to the lake I saw the huge cat/dog tracks all in the mud and around my camp.. holy smokes I said! looking around, I suddenly got this strange, alone, far away feeling, alone by myself, but there was defiantly something checking me out..still spooked to this day..

  16. those boots sound hi tech, pretty nice looking too. id wear them, but this fall I picked up these ones. I wore them for hours sitting in a tree stand, nice and warm. and yesterday fishing, I stood in about 3 ,4 ,5 inches if water for a couple hours..dry and warm I was. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...5004000_475-4-0
  17. I have a pair of those socks and the blue ones(extreme cold) awesome! great cushion great warmth, i went on a hunting trip this past weekend, i wore a silk liner sock under them to wick away more moisture. my feet were warm and pretty darn dry after walking and also sitting still in a tree stand for 4 hours one cold cold morning. A++ SOCKS GET EM, your feel will thank you, i even wear em fishing in my waders. but unlike T.J.Q I wouldn't ware them AS Waders lol
  18. i use the frog hair 3X AND 4X (8.8lb)(6.6lb) i like it, the diameter is less that then some other large brands, and i find it pretty tough, im happy with it.
  19. ps. no offense to any Germans on here, im from German back ground, and my grandfather was in WW2 he was drafted told, come and fight against America, or we will come back and shoot you and your family.. on on my other side, my other grandfather was in the Canadian army, drafted as well, but not threatened to fight.. well, not with his life..
  20. Interesting! at the least. Humm, Basically, every freedom we have came from the german army 'loosing' the war. if they won, im sure we wouldent be fishing our tribs when we wanted, etc etc...
  21. note, go there i know you hate that one, start at the most legal northern limit to fish, try the runs, riffles, pools, blow downs.and walk south till you get tired or find some fish. hint, rain maybe on saturday... maybe try it on gods day. if you catch my drift! (no pun intended)
  22. you have my vote! ill register and vote in a moment! all the best.
  23. WOW nice! Iv never seen a pan fish that big! way to go, and awesome that you let it go!
  24. well i go up to manitoulin island more then a few times a year. goin this weekend for a deer hunt! iv been in the thick of it. there are claims to be cougars there, iv seen scat and trails. got spookes at night, but never took a knife or gun. i fugure, if it wants to pounce, its gunna pounce. the knife aint a bad idea but really, these cats/dogs dont really let people see them till its to late. i think that the young singer songwriter was a freak incident. maybe young males cocky and immature. but i do believe there is nothing to worry about for you. but like all of us be aware of where your walking. make some extra noise, sing part of a song loud and all will be scared, iv walked through bear paths through the tall grass only to step in scat looking for deer trails, i was ON THE BALL. spooked, but say, if im going to get maulled, well im on its turf, messing with its home land.. so I deserve it!
