  1. I'm starting to worry that he didn't read these posts and did go out. Let us know if you are OK would you niagra.
  2. I think he just did LOL
  3. Thought this might interest a few of you: Sony Rear projection being discontinued
  4. I'll put your name on them Pete.
  5. Thanks for the update, that will make life a lot easier for quite a few people.
  6. I have a couple of down rigger balls (weights) that a friend gave me years ago and I don't use. They have been sitting in my garage collecting dust and thought someone here might be able to put them to good use. They are free to the first person that wants them but you'll have to pick them up here in Lindsay.
  7. All good here in Lindsay, a few short bumps yesterday but that was all. Sinker, if you are ever in a jam and need a generator let me know, I work for a rent all place so I can probably get my hands on a rental one for you on short notice and at whatever my boss would charge me for it. (probably free but if not, at a good discount).
  8. Moe, you know I'll be there and help anyway I can, it's one of the things I look forward to every winter. Do you still have the food list I sent you last year? I think that if we can keep it to the burgers, saussages, and hot dogs it will make things a bit easier but a big pot of chilli wouldn't hurt and wouldn't be too hard for the cooks to handle. If I remember I gave you an estimated list of quantities that would be required based on past years. Might be easier to get the food donated if we could give specific quantities of what is required.
  9. What a beauty! Glad to hear everything went well. Judging by the covers on the chair and couch, your house is like mine; if you want the best seat in the house, you'll have to move the dog LOL.
  10. DON'T GO! check out the posts on the board "BOG WARNING" it was dangerous before yesterday but with all that rain and wind we had yesterday going out there for a few fish would not be a smart choice, conditions can only have gotten worse. Be paitent, temperatures should be returning to normal or a little below normal in the next few days. I'd still give it about a week for things to firm up though, there are going to be some big holes through the existing ice that will take a while to re freeze and 2" of ice over a big hole is still only 2" of ice.
  11. The roofing from my neighbours boat house is now all over my back yard, what a mess!
  12. If you don't like the meds they give you let me and Beansey know..... heck between us we could probably start a drug store LOL. All kidding aside Jack, I know a couple of people that have been through a similar procedure and they say that it is all worth while! We're thinking of you and as I told you before, if you or Jackie need anything, just ask!
  13. I've made many trips through there, the last one on Monday afternoon. What a mess but as long as no one gets hurt, the insurance should cover the damages. Glad to hear your parents are OK though.
  14. True or not? How can I say but it was a good read. A few years ago a couple of friends asked me to go out on Simco one nice early spring day, they assured me thay had been out the day before and there was plenty of ice and it was still solid and the fishing was the best they had seen all winter. I reluctantly declined but something inside me just sit well. Chicken I guess! Well, they went anyway and had a wonderful time. By about noon, they had their limits and decided to head for home. They found out the next day that the ice in the area where they had been fishing broke up about 1:00 the day. Had they had been out there they might not have still been alive today. I've had a couple of close calls over the years, fortunatly I've always made it through. Guess someone is watching over me but I now tend to err on the side of caution rather than chance. I've seen too many stories about fishermen that have thought everything was good and found out the hard way that it wasn't. How many examples do we need?
  15. I am so sad to hear that news, you really didn't need more things on your plate to worry about but you are a strong family and we will pray for a full and speedy recovery for all involved. Keep us posted and know we are thinking of you and the kids.
  16. Mine started to act up a couple of months ago, I opened it up and found a layer of dust all over my CPU (Vaccuum cleaners should work so well) so I took the Vaccuum and a soft brush and cleaned it and it has been working perfectly ever since. I guess the CPU was just overheating, fortunatly it doesn't seem like there was any perminant damage.
  17. I bought a 37" LCD Acer about a year ago at the Source, $1200.00 and we love it! Our house is open concept and there is a big window with lots of light that use to reflect off our old CRT TV and at times it was hard to see the screen. The LCD doesn't have this problem at all so it was perfect for our room. My computer moniter is also an Acer LCD and again, I really like it. I have had no problems with either.
  18. Well, fishing for walleye opens in the Kawarthas 2nd Saturday in May so anytime after that would be a good time. I live in the Kawarthas (about an hour drive North of the 401) And when you figure out when/if you are going to come up here for a visit let me know and I'll help you out with a place to park and perhaps even try to get you out fishing and show you a few spots. PM me if you want more information.
  19. Well, I've checked CTV News, 680 News, and the Toronto Sun hoping to hear that he'd been found but so far nothing. Every hour that slipps by brings a less likely chance that he will be found alive. The fog seems to have lifted durring the night, that might help them in their search today.
  20. LOL, Now that sounds like fun!
  21. Good luck in that interview today! HH is one of the reasons that this board is so wonderful to be a part of.
  22. Good morning to you too! I'm on my second cup already but I might crawl back in bed and try to get another hour sleep.
  23. Just got back from my drive up to Sudbury and heard about this on the radio. The fog was so thick that at times it was hard to see three car lengths, I can only imagine how bad it must have been on the lake but it wouldn't be hard to get turned around out there and end up walking into a dangerous area. As I was coming from Orillia down to Beaverton the rain was so heavy that I had to pull off the road a couple of times until it died down. If he is still alive out there somewhere, ice conditions will be getting worse fast! last report I heard was that they were now expanding their search to Cooks Bay. All I could think was" I hope he is OK and it isn't one of our OFC Family". As fishnsled said, I think prayers are probably in order!
  24. Now that's worth spending a day on the ice for! WTG
  25. Well, I'm hoping the weather forcast changes. Sounds like we could be in for a wet couple of days, not much fun when you are standing out in it all day. I'll check in Monday evening as soon as I get back from Sudbury. I've got everything ready to go just in case.
