If it has compression it is probably worth fixing! Apart from that spark and fuel is all it needs, both easy fixes if need be.
-
That is why I wanted to post it on here, if it even saves one person from going through it will be worth the time.

Just be careful when adjusting the carbs on any two stroke, too lean and the engine will run better than it ever has but not for long, the engine gets it's lubrication from the unspent fuel getting past the rings and into the crank case. If you lean it out too much then you don't get enough lubrication and you can take the piston, rings and cylinder out of an engine very quickly. To do it properly it should be done with a tachometer to Manufacturers specifications. If you are going to do it by ear (not the best way) once you get the high speed adjusted, open it up a little more (counter clockwise)just until you hear it start to hesitate a little. You will hear the RPMs start to drop as you open the high speed jet, keep going (won't take much) and you'll hear it change from the wine. That is where you want it if you want that engine to last. I have done it this way in the past and know lots of mechanics that do but I really prefer to use the tachometer to get the best performance out of an engine.

Anglers Haven treated me very well a few years back, if I was going again, they would be my first choice.

Two days of this cold and then back above normal again for a couple of weeks at least. Even the nights aren't getting (apart from last night and tonight) anywhare near as cold as they usually do for this time of the year. Last year at this time we had a good 24" of ice out in front of our place, this year might be 14" and that is with no snow cover at all.
-
Yup, even stabilizer is only good for about 6 months (even though they claim UP TO TWO YEARS)the key word being up to Drain your fuel out of it, put fresh fuel in it, it might still be a little hard to start the first time but should be ok after that.

Just heard today that two guys were in their ice hut when it broke through the ice. Fortunatly they got out ok. Seems they opened up the locks in Lindsay allowing a lot of water to flow down the river which undermined the ice where their hut was. They were driving cars and truck out there just a couple of days before that.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if the one in Lindsay is open.

OK, anyone in the Kawarthas, Pickering, Oshawa, Ajax, Uxbridge (or points in between or in those general areas) that want me to pick up their shirts and deliver them for free. PM me with the number of shirts etc. and your address. I will pre pay them, pick them up at the Tyler event, and deliver them to you and collect the money the following week.

All the way down to Lunge Haven and then some!

Where the Scugog River enters into Sturgeon Lake has just opened up in the last couple of days, that is several weeks ahead of the normal. Last week there were cars driving around out there. I have a feeling this could be the earliest ice out we have had in the eleven years we've been living here. Anyone venturing up this way, please be careful. Where there was ice one day, there is open water the next.

3 large any colour is fine with me, How much and where?
-
If the money is going to Tyler, you can count me in for 3 shirts minimum. Graphics; I would suggest. Ontairo Fishing Community Fishing For Tyler 2012 But you can count me in for whatever for a minimum of three. Now, if anyone in the Kawarthas wants to get involved I would suggest Earnie at The Shop would be an ideal place to drop of funds and collect shirts. He is a long time OFCr, in a good location, and a true die hard fisherman. Sorry Earnie I did this without your permission! Apart from that, I would be most willing to step up and do it.

Just wondered where this whole project is at? Anything being done or has it just been dropped!

Well, so far touch wood, we have had excellent service from CP out here, in 11 years I think we might have twice had a piece of mail addressed to someone else stuck in with our mail but I'm sure not going to complain about that. In fact a couple of weeks ago, the lady that delivers our mail actually came right to the door with a package for me because it said "do not bend" and she couldn't get it into the mail box without bending it. She didn't have to do that at all. With that kind of service being the norm, I'm inclined to cut her a little slack if there ever is an issue. FishnNAutographs, you need to find out what your mail man drives, if he is that careless with the mail he is probably a careless driver too. Just saying

I never really had much use for it before Roy, I know it is big in the US for phone service but back when this whole VOIP stuff started we only had dial up so I never really bothered with it as the quality wasn't very good. Now that we have a good quality high speed internet connection it's a little different. Our daughter was having so much trouble with her phone service from Bell that she finally cancelled the land line so now we are using Skype to call when we want to chat. Nice and easy for me to figure out and it's free. I was just wondering how many others use it on a regular basis.

He has a really nice shop there and he helped me out big time with a problem I had. I think he'll do well! Fair prices, good workminship usually = success. A little support from fellow OFNrs wouldn't hurt either LOL.
-
Well, I'm not in that area but if I can help I'd be happy to. How long do you need it for? You know where I live.
-
That is one darn smart young lady you have there!

My daughter and I talked about using Skype the other day, I have to admit I thought it was just another phone provider (ok, ok, I'm old). Little did I know we can talk to each other via the internet anytime we want and for as long as we want for free (I'm also cheap in my old age). So we tried it tonight and it was wonderful!!!!! I have a really good high speed connection and hers is a little slower but it was still wonderful to be able to sit here and talk with her. Call quality was really good as well, nice and clear, a little pause sometimes from when I'd say something and she'd respond but apart from that I was very pleased with it. I was just wondering how many others on here use it?

We haven't been there yet but we have a gift certificate, I know where we will be using it! You know Lew, might be nice to send the manager an email with the link to this thread. I'll bet he'd be really happy to know that his actions have resulted in so many positive posts!

Get ready to watch a big ole redneck cry, Billy Bob sure is going to shed a few when NY looses this game LOL. Oh Billy Bob my friend, I sure am going to hold this one over you for a long time to come :rofl2:

Cost them a steak and gained them a very appreciative customer and some good press. Good on them! Good for you for taking the time to post about it! Looks like a win win deal to me!

Well, I have been using Garmin GPSs since they first came out and other than the HDS5 that I use in my boat I still use the Garmin MAP 76. So as far as which one to buy, I would stay with Garmin, they do have a good selection and they have made several improvements since the 72 came out.
