  1. I got married in vegas almost 2 years ago. We stayed at the mirage. it was very nice no complaints but there are cheaper places. I highly recommend staying somewhere on the strip and buying a $7 a day bus pass that you can ride as much as you like for that day. I stayed there for a week and a week was definitely not long enough. You can take a week just walking around checking out the different hotels on the strip. Depending on what type of person you are i would not rent a car. For one i'd be to hammered haha and second theres so much to see good luck keeping your eyes on the road. There are packages for seeing the grand canyon and the hoover dam. I would not buy tickets for shows or anything online. There are discount ticket booths all over the strip with tickets that are much cheaper. Bring yourself some real good shoes you are going to do a ton of walking! If you need to know any other details feel free to PM me.
  2. i've run the bfg all terrains for years on all my vehicles and i live up a goat path bush road thats pretty gnarly with steep icy hills. They have just come out with new redesigned all terrains called the ko2s. You can probably pick up a set of the originals for cheap since the new ones are out. i have a buddy with the generals and he likes them good overall tire nothing real fancy. Alot of guys are going with the duratracs and they get great reviews but they are pricey.
  3. thanks! ya i dont really understand the whole ear spacer thing. i just think its weird! and i agree i see alot of young people with hand and face/neck tattoos. The only place i can see them working is at a tattoo shop.
  4. I'm 27 and I've been doing construction for 10 years. once i have 15-20years under my belt i would like to get off the tools. I don't want to be a sore old man and im not saying guys in there 40s and 50s are old but that seems to be the time guys that have done construction their whole life start breaking down and start hurting themselves doing things they done in their 20s.
  5. thanks alot guys! it is my first tattoo and i am already thinking about more! i thought long and hard before getting something permanent on my body. I work in the construction field and tattoos in this industry are pretty common. In the future i'd like to be some kind of project manager or supervisor before i get to old and sore and i shouldnt have to many issues with some modest tattoos.
  6. thanks, i was thinking of adding on later. i was thinking of adding the northern lights with moon and stars making it a full sleeve.
  7. the trees are there for life. lots of tattoos can be covered by another tattoo but mine would probably be to dark and to big to cover. theres also laser surgery but its not 100% effective and extremely expensive
  8. hey guys just showing off a new tattoo i got today. i feel its somewhat fishing related. everytime i go out im heading for the bush!
  9. wouldn't it be a bright idea to let southern ontario people to use studs(possibly a shorter season then us northerners). seems like every year there are mass pile ups and more freezing rain.
  10. All the brands are making a decent truck now days. They all have their issues so research and pick with what you'd rather deal with.
  11. are you looking for something used or something new? i just picked up a 04 nissan titan a couple months back and so far loving it. i could not believe the prices of 10 year old trucks especially gm trucks. Gm owners are starting to think the resale value is the same as toyota trucks. I had to be different and buy a truck that wasnt apart of the big 3.
  12. i find the fish swipes at it and darts in the opposite direction. they will hit the spoon(not the hooks) with any part of their body and take off. If they are aggressive they will do it multiple times and one of those time you can hook them. Thats why once in a while you'll snag by the side or tail. I find fish dont just follow right behind your lure and just suck it in.
  13. i have the 3.7 in my liberty and it has the power to get the job done. i'd go with the v6 if 90% of your driving is city
  14. i cant complain about the temps its nice. The only thing is that i've noticed around the sault area is that the leaves are already starting to change!!
  15. ya i was happy with my sonoma and it did pretty well everything i wanted it to. i'd buy another one but it would have to be the zr2 off road model and they are hard to come by. i dont do alot of heavy towing, i only pull a 12' tin boat and the snowmobile trailer and the odd trailer to the dump. so i really dont need a heavy tower. i'm leaning towards full size because of interior room. the one sideways seat was annoying and i want atleast a full size extended cab back seat for ppl moving with a bit more comfort or if a baby comes into the picture.
  16. ya i did research on the titan. They put the frontier axles on the full size titan and they are just problems unless you change the diff to a eaton trutrac. also in my reach they have brake judder problems and you need to get the newer larger rotors and pads to fix that. other that they seem to be a pretty solid truck. They are "different" its not one of the big 3 which is up my alley i just need to be different. and if i was buying new i would definitely be looking at the dodge ecodiesel or a new toyota.
  17. ya the tacomas are out of my price range they want like $5000 for an 03 with 400,000km on it. joeytier i was looking at the dakotas i've had 2 older ones that served me well. why do you say stay 04 and older whats wrong with the 3rd gen dakotas? if i get one i'd take the 4.7 or the 3.7 motors. i have the 3.7 in my 08 jeep liberty and i love it. I've been eyeing up the f150s and done some research, the spark plug problems scare me and on car complaints it says avoid it like the plague, although its very popular with millions of them out there so you have to expect some kind of problems. are they really that bad? i've been eyeing up the nissan titans to. anybody driving one of these? im also not worried abut fuel economy with the truck. i drive my work van 5days a week in the summer and in the winter i take my truck on bad days. and i take my truck out fishing on the weekend. i miiggght put 10,000km on it a year and thats pushing it.
  18. also im in sault ste. marie and am willing to travel to southern ontario to pick up a truck. If i buy a truck "as is" what all do i have to do to legally drive it back? i would like to do it on a weekend to avoid missing any days at work( i work mon-fri) Then take it to my trusted mechanic and have it certified.
  19. I've had my gmc sonoma for the past 4-5 years and its been a decent truck but this past winter did a total beating on it. it needs a ton of body work now and the wheel bearings are ready to blow and will need a set of tires. It was at the point of not putting anymore money in it. So i sold it to a guy at work for $600 and hes turning it into a real bush buggy. I'm now without a truck and am searching for another truck. I'm on the search for another truck under 10 grand. I live 5km on a rough gravel road where i have to have 4x4 and something that can take a beating. I'm not brand loyal at all and i believe every brand has had their good and bad. what do you guys recommend? i was tossing the idea of getting something small again like a dodge dakota or a nissan frontier. I'm also tossing around the idea of getting something full size like a nissan titan or a f150. my requirements are 4x4, atleast extended cab no regular cabs. under 200,000km under 10grand. what the truck for me?
  20. on the weekend i was up towards wawa. i was at kenny lake at the beginning of the park and it was wide open with no ice although on my lake here 20min from the sault there is still ice but im betting its gone by the end of the week.
  21. i was up in the park about 100km south of wawa and it was all open. there was still ice on superior but its going to break up real soon
  22. im on a small inland lake in the sault and my lake looks kinda like that. lots of water on the ice the shore lines are breaking up and the springs out on the lake are opened up. i think you could get a boat in 2 weeks with ice bergs floating around
  23. i have a 08 jeep liberty and i love my jeep. If you are looking at used and fuel mileage the liberty might be the better option. brand new the cherokee trailhawk and if money is of no concern and you want a sweet ride for the bush and cruising around with the top off and doors off get the wrangler. if you wont like it the wranglers have awesome resale value.
  24. last year i for a 2008 jeep liberty for $10,000 and i loved it! Its a little tank that it feels like it can go anywhere. It looks wayyy better then the summer mom looking rav4.The only downer is the fuel mileage sucks
  25. i was ice fishing for lakers with another member on here and he uses pieces of lake trout belly for lakers and i tried it and i did get a laker
