yup my 12foot fits perfect in the back of the truck and i've jumped a few beaver dams hahaha always super fun gunning it towards them pulling up the motor quick and going down them hahaha! just gotta watch those little buggers will attack you! theres one out at tilley i'd love to put some dynamite in POW! they may be strong but they don't hold together well after 7 sticks of dynamite, and no never done it

hahaha ohhh i know tell me about it Dara! my boat has been beaten off sooo many rocks, trees, through the mud and bush. it really takes a beating but still floats with no leaks and could still sell it for $500. i'd love to buy one of them porta botes but i definitely cant afford one. i guess the southern ontario ppl dont have as many places and dont have as much use for one as we do in this part of ontario.
-
to me it looks a little dorky but DARN nice to have and you'll be laughing at all the other suckers out there while you can sit back and relax plus you'll probably get more fishing time in which is a bonus

and wouldnt a feedback section help with unknown ppl and really bring out the great guys on this site?
-
that is a very good price, well in sault ste. marie anyways! if that guy brought that boat here to the sault that thing would probably be gone in 1-2hours. 12 foot tinner are a really wanted item and almost impossible to find locally even new ones. My buddy went last week to the local princecraft dealer and he said hes all sold out and ordering more 12footers cause he sold 25 that week alone.

i seen those on ebay last night before i seen this post. i was gonna bid till i seen the $10 shipping costs but i guess its still a good deal at $11. lots of great deals on ebay, keep the fishing deals on the down low i dont need more competition then i got already haha!
-
hey, either i can't find it or we need a feedback section in the classifieds for good dealings with fellow members and if someone ever gets screwed over they can put to watch out for the guy. just a suggestion!
-
they are an awesome store! i got my old minn kota 40lbthrust from there last year and shipped for free! to bad its sitting at the bottom of a lake right now hahaha! i also use the trail tourny medium heavy baitcaster with the diawa megaforce i got as a package deal for $120 which was an awesome deal with good quality rod with 2 year warrenty. and my buddy that lives down in the states shops there often and has lots of their lures and they do quite well. he was using some cheapo cabelas crankbait and was out fishing our rapalas this past weekend! cabelas is definitely the way to go if the shipping isnt outrageous

i've heard of that and also colours of pellets being used on section fish being planted in lakes. i was told from a few ppl that the splake planted in our local lakes get red pellets and bright red lures, spoons, etc work best and are most appealing to the eye for the fish even after they have "oute grown" the pellets or have been out of the hatchery for a long period of time. I have not tried it myself and it may just be a tall tale. Also i heard of guys ice fishing and putting chicken bones in pop cans and dropping them down the hole if you plan on returning in the next few days and its suppose to keep the fish around haha cant say i ever did that myself, that littering i dont want a thousand cans at the bottom of the lake and i didnt feel the need that i had to put something down there cause i already know hot spots.

i joined a couple weeks ago and i competed once for smallies on opening day and all i got was 9 tiny smallies and a pile of walleye, i think signing up and paying jinxed me! i'm waiting for them to put a pike tourny on there!

SSM Report- from the past week or so.....
pike slayer replied to TDunn's topic in General Discussion
hey those are some nice fish. i was out fishing around pine island this past weekend for the first time and we got a bunch of largies(first for me) and my buddy with the camp out there says hes been getting them for as long as i can remember. My buddy has caught largies in the carp river and batchewana river north of the sault. also i've heard of the odd catch of a largie or 2 in the st.marys. i haven't heard to many ppl getting largies in the inland lakes. Maybe they could work their way up into some of the lakes their river systems like the thesslan river or something but ya they are around! -
if he has a small boat and wants to head to head to some inland lakes pm me for info. i was down at the locks the other night with a few buds and gals and my buddy got a 6-7lb rainbow on a freakin twister tail and a girl that was with us got a 2lb walleye, it was like her first time ever fishing. i havent heard to much about the atlantics yet, i think its a bit early. and ya hiawatha for more nature and belleuve for more kiddy stuff
-
i dont know how many times i've headed out fishing early early in the morning like at sunrise and i dont catch a thing till about 10ish, the fish sleep in like i do. i find pike and bass bite best during the heat of the day, walleye usually in the evening but i still do well mid day for them. i find trout like lake trout and specks from around 9am-to lunch time.
-
i prefer to club my pike with the pike popper or the fish whacker instead of just holding them by the eyes
-
i'd also love to pick up some of your mercers magic lures but can not find them! dave you are a good man and give how tos and such. keep up the good work and don't let posts on here get to you, everyone has their opinion.

i gotta say rapala still has the best product out there even if they brake easier then other companies they do catch more fish. I have around 70 rapalas and probably 20-30 other cranks from different companies and i gotta say i dont use non rapala cranks to often. if rapala some how went under and all rapalas got sold out i'd have to go to with probably storm, although doesnt rapala own storm?? i sometimes use the hot n tots, thundersticks, etc. you cant beat a good old rapala, they are like cars, you get some that last forever and you get some lemons. i got rapalas that have been through hell and back a dozen times with hardly any paint left and had to change the hooks a number of times, then i've had some that have lasted like buddys and have the lip snap off first couple hours or get bounced off a rock and crack it.

i wish i could get the fishing channel and your complaining, be happy you can watch something like this sure it needs to be ironed out but enjoy it
-
haha sorry next time i'll ask and ya definite paradise called the bush haha with nothing around for miles you can make all the noise you want haha!
-
haha i'm not gonna ask how the lake got its name, your pics looked like Ess lake up inbehind lonely lake. popular dale?? hmmm i'm not exactly sure where that is. ya give leechman a go, its a ways in there and you need a 4wheeler to get to it. i've personally never fished wolfe but my buddy fished it last weekend and he only got 5 bass and the largest was around 4lbs, there is alot of bass in there and good sizes to. I've been told the lake trout fishing in there is going down hill and its not like what it use to be and you can get a 4x4truck in there if you dont mind trees scratching the side of the truck. i've never heard much of prugh. Theres also hawk lake back in there and i hear its loaded with big bass and monster lake trout.
-
haha! well we fished leechman past wolfe lake and we camped out at a clearing just before the tupper/pickard turn off on the side of the road cause my buddy didnt wanna go any farther with the truck cause of fears of scratching his truck, i would have drove almost alll the way to lake with my truck but ooo well. whats the lake you were fishing the other day getting those dark bass to or is that top secret? lol
-
yup, just north of the sault, wayyy back in the bush, 4wheeler accessable only
-
Hey guys, yesterday after work we loaded my buddies camper on the back of his truck and hooked on the boat behind and we loaded the 4wheeler in the back of the truck and we headed off. we got aways back in the bush and we setup camp. there was dark clouds and thunder and lightening so we moved the bonfire and made a cheap little tarp roof thing, but most of the rain missed up and we just got off and on light rain while the sault got hit hard. the next morning we hooked the boat on the 4wheeler and the 3 of us were off to find a bass lake that we havent been to before. It wasnt hard finding but it was a good hour ride and we were glad to be there. as soon as we got in the boat my buddy casted out and hooked into a 2lb bass first cast, so we figured it would be a good day or a very bad day haha!! The lake is a tea stained colour and the bass are really dark and we call them black bass, definitely some neat looking fish. we went around the lake in the minn kota and we caught bass on just about everything in our tackle boxes. we caught around 25-30bass from 10am-3pm when the wind picked up and decided to pack her in. There is also pic of the big hog i got on a rapala dives to 6 in black/silver. all in all a good day, also theres a pics of the little guys we kept for dinner. hope you enjoy!
