  1. Thanks Tyler for the taking the time to put together all those wicked photos. Seeing pics of my old stomping grounds brings back a ton of great memories.

    Spring 2012

I'm having deja vu looking at all these pics Really amazing shots Mike. You're becoming quite the photographer my friend.
  3. Jose has a nice 385 Humminbird with GPS for sale in classified for $250. Its a bargain at that price.
  4. Awesome Mike! A epic trip well earned once again. I'm a big fan of video (ask my friends!) because I love going back months, years later to relive the moments. Hope to see more of your fishing adventures on film!
  5. I grew up fishing that river and that awesome report reminded me that I really need to make a trip back to the place that gave me fishing. Love the multiple methods you used on the trip. Thanks for sharing!
  6. Thanks for sharing your trip Juli. I had no idea Lloyd could put people onto fish!!! Been out with him several times and my friends still talk fondly about the absolutely awesome times we've had with Lloyd. Will never forget the two 20lb plus Chinooks we boated and the fights that ensued.
  7. Thanks for the fix. Indeed Roy I had a good laugh at the comments, especially when the author had to explain the article to some readers!
  8. Thought you guys might find this a good read. Fishing doesn't come first, it comes second. Looking the part comes first and foremost! How to Look Good
  9. I'd stick with the 550, much better unit than the PirahnaMax. I recommend getting the portable kit and a portable transducer mount. Then you can take it in and out of the boat as needed and use it for ice fishing and other boats. I use it this way all the time all season long. http://store.humminbird.com/products/322967/PTC_U_NB http://www.lebaron.ca/pdf_files_sp12/tite_lok.pdf

    Report!

That was absolutely awesome. The variety of fishing is what it is all about. I grew up in Nipigon. You'll enjoy that water regardless of the action.
  11. Nail Knot is a must know as stated. Looks overwhelming using that straw so I use the Nail-Less Nail Knot which makes it real easy to do anytime. Double Surgeons Knot is another good one to know for attaching tippet to your leader. Triple Surgeon as well which is just an extra wrap over the Double Surgeon, when using fluorocarbon tippet.

    Trout fun

Mike you should come follow me around for a week this fall! Killer stuff bud! Love it and miss it.
  13. Nice fish to add to the resume Mark and the photos are great as always. Next opener I'll have to make my way back home and hook up with ya.
  14. Now's that's some real fishing! I had the old guys from Toronto huffing and puffing when fishing the rivers here. All I kept hearing was "What is this mountain goat stuff?!?" I definitely had to accept that you walk a lot longer and on much less beaten - and often steep - paths to fish here. Your determination is a testament to your commitment to this great pastime. And those moments of "good luck" often seem to happen for a reason when fishing - reminding us how lucky we are and the satisfaction of helping another and being helped. In the past year alone I got swept down a river attempting a tricky river crossing and got stuck in the snow ice fishing a remote lake where I saw no one the last two times I had gone. I was over 20 km away from the nearest highway, solo, and with absolutely no cell service. I thought I was royally screwed and I had just arrived. To my "good luck" someone actually showed up that day, had me out in a few and I was on my way fishing once again. Thanks for the reminding me about those lucky moments.
  15. That is some crazy shore action! Wicked stuff!
  16. Wicked stuff Dave! Would love to tackle some of those fish on the flyrod especially a Tarpon! Thanks for sharing!
  17. I'll second the TS3. I have the TS2 and the TS3 is a great evolution. New GPS feature makes it great for fishing. You said picture quality and video are important and it does both amazingly. HD video is probably it's strongest feature against direct competition and picture quality is top notch. I use it for my business all the time. My website pics were taken with it and I am by no means a photographer. TS3 Test Detailed review here. So the water and shock protection would be an added bonus that I'm sure you'll find some use for But that said non-weather Panasonics are cheaper with same creative quality.
  18. Nice camera work and edit! Nice to see MJL was there lending a hand. About time he gave back!! He already catches too many Steelhead!!
  19. For those interested in learning more about said scams and seeing how some people flip the script on these scammers and send them junk, heavy junk, by convincing scammer to pay for delivery thinking they'll get a bunch of laptops check out www.thescambaiter.com. Tons of great info on all sorts of online scams and the baits are absolutely entertaining.
  20. If you all watched Formula One then the rain would only make things more exciting! But I agree they should run it for prime time or at least later. However it's the logistics they are most worried about with their weekly schedule. Been rained out at Michigan International Speedway. Not fun at all. Been to the 500 too. Most interesting thing was watching 400,000 plus leaving at the same time!
  21. Beauty Lakers all around! I totally get what you're saying about the Laker that wasn't the biggest but most impressive. I felt the same way after landing a larger sized laker outside of Simcoe. I've caught bigger in Simcoe but that one was much more memorable.
  22. Check Dan's ad in the classified. Just got mine and it works great!
  23. Great photos! Man I really miss laker fishing. Keep it coming.
  24. Totally awesome stuff Mike! It's funny how bad days motivate us to go back just as much as good days. And what a payday you earned for yourself! I'm sure those sonar chases are still replaying in your head. There's really nothing like it. Now wouldn't it have been so awesome to capture that PB tank battle on video???? I'm sure Ant has heard enough of me harassing him to capture it all on video. I need something to watch while passing the time out here in BC!!!
  25. Nice stuff Ant. Go search for Eyes in the meantime! The spot is calling you!
