I run 1000 and 2500 series spinning reels and 5500 or 6500 series ABU baitcasters with 15#-30# braid plus a flouro leader.

Actually his favorite food is Fritos and spray cheese!!!! :rofl2:

I figure it's about 500#'s lighter than my big sled.

This has to be their worst performance so far this season. Standing around puck watching, give aways, lack of emotion and no hitting.

And here is my latest winter project. I'm also going to be working on my cabin lot removing trees and cutting trail as well as putting my dock together. Started on the dock part on Saturday by removing a one year old 14'X16' pressure treated deck from a house that is slated to be knocked down shortly. Spent 5 hours dismantling and hauling it home. Will wait for late winter to assemble and haul to the site just before ice out. Got to like free stuff (too bad the floats and hardware won't be). When the go ahead is given to knock the house down I have access to the rear door (a new steel insulated one) and the electrical panel as well as some other goodies. It will be nice to have a good door with no $$$ spent.

Can't beat splitting wood when it's -30!! I was heating with wood the first year I was up North of 60*. Would go out in the yard to split in track pants and tee shirt @ -35 and would not be cold plus the wood split waaaaaay easy!!!!!

I have it's big brother the RS Venture GT. It is heavy but runs like a dream. Running my sled across the lake is like riding a Harley down the interstate. Getting it stuck sucks but in the 5 years I have had mine I've only really been stuck once and a couple of minor inconveniences two other times. I get great gas mileage and nothing out of the ordinary (read regular maintenance) has gone wrong with it in that time. Since it's a 4 stroke (like a car or truck) you want a block heater and battery warmer if you will be running it in very cold temps as they can be a bit finicky when the temps drop to -30 and below, but if you will be mostly riding in temps -20 and warmer it's not really needed. It's also only needed first thing in the day when the sled has been sitting overnight in the frigid temps. My sled is not fuel injected (they changed the following year ) so the newer injected ones may start a little better at colder temps.

I think it is more than likely that the rainbows and specks were caught in the pine and were likely under 10" in length. Not very likely they were steelhead. This certainly doesn't make it right but it's not nearly as bad as it would be if they were steelhead. I used to fish that piece of water all the time and the only time I was able to get anything of size was on opener.

Just picked up a 1988 Ski Doo Citation to restore.
