Nonis picked up a couple of new players from the Ducks. http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=691855 David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Saturday the hockey club has acquired forwards Peter Holland and Brad Staubitz from the Anaheim Ducks. In exchange, Anaheim receives defenceman Jesse Blacker, a 2014 third round pick (it could become a second round pick if certain conditions are met) and Anaheim’s 2014 seventh round pick (originally acquired in David Steckel trade). Holland will report to the Maple Leafs today and Staubitz has been assigned to the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies. Holland, a 22-year-old native of Caledon, Ontario, was originally Anaheim’s first choice, selected 15th overall in the 2009 Entry Draft. This season, the 6-2, 194-pound centre played four games for Anaheim scoring one goal and adding two penalty minutes. In 10 games with the AHL’s Norfork Admirals he registered a team leading nine points (five goals, four assists) along with 22 penalty minutes. In 29 career NHL games he has earned five goals, two assists and eight minutes in penalties. Staubitz, 29, played six games for Norfolk this season and tallied 10 minutes in penalties. In 230 career NHL games with San Jose, Minnesota, Montreal and Anaheim, the 6-1, 207-pound native of Bright’s Grove, Ontario has registered 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) and 520 penalty minutes. Blacker played five games for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies this season collecting one goal and four penalty minutes. He was originally selected 58th overall by the Leafs in the 2009 Entry Draft.

I have shower curtain clips with alligator clips that have rubber tubing on the jaws. They work great!!! My masts (I have a pair of singles) are mounted on my front casting deck on either side of the seat mount.
-
A lot of my friends in Alaska are using them and seem to like them. I use a hub early in the year but when there is safe ice for the snowmobile I use a flip over as it is easier to change spots. Have heard of issues with the windows cracking in the older Eskimo popups but I believe that has been fixed. Ardisam was good to replace any broken parts though so I would not worry. Tell him to go ahead and grab one.

I did some reading after I found the video and there has never been an issue with any Yammy 50 that has been modified in this way. I wonder if I can change my 115 Merc into a 150?
-
This is a pretty sobering piece of video.
-
Yes, that is removing the restrictor plate on the intake. Here's a vid on the process for those of you with Yammy 50's and want an extra 10 hp with just a few minutes work.

I was actually watching the game today and you knew right away it wasn't good.

Best fly in fishing trip. When and Where
DRIFTER_016 replied to lovetofish's topic in General Discussion
The Whitefish River is out of Trophy Lodge. It's at the head of Bydand Bay. The river mouth has shallow edges that drop off into 20-30 fee mid channel. Lots of good piking there. There is also the Pike River that is closer to the lodge. No big ones in there but lots of smaller guys. This spot can save the day when it's too gnarly to hit the main lake. -

Ice usually goes out the 1st week of July but have seen bad pack ice as late as the 3rd week. One year we had to fly people out to open water for the first 2 weeks of July. If you want to fish the early season the safest bet is the second week of July. -

Yep. I spent 15 years guiding up @ Great Bear. There is some good pike fishing and great fishing for lakers and grayling. The Tree River outpost has world record Char. If you want coloured up char and a chance at some schooled up spawning lakers go in August. If you want silver char and shallow water lakers (as shallow as 18") go in early July. One caution is that early season can be hit and miss due to ice limiting traveling. You have better grayling fishing later in the season as the water warms up as well. If you want to go to the Tree you will have to stay @ the main lodge as the trip is run out of there. If you want better pike fishing stay at Trophy Lodge. You can still fish char out of here but it is on the Coppermine river. The fish are smaller but there are more of them. Tree River is an overnight trip while Coppermine is a long day trip. Out of Trophy there is a fly out to the Anderson river which is pretty cool. There are usually tons of whitefish, lakers and grayling here, but the main interest is in the inconnu that hit the river to spawn starting in late July. There is a stupendous fly out for grayling out of the main lodge. Both lodges have the ability to produce 60+ pound trout at any time during the season. Like this one. -
Where's The Boundry On The Ganny THIS Year?
DRIFTER_016 replied to Photoz's topic in General Discussion
I don't know why all of the questions about the boundary. As far back as I can remember (started fishing there in the 80's) the only "open all year section" has been from the South side of the bridge to the lake. The section above the bridge closed at the end of September. -
Yep she's a tad breezy in the Philippines tonight. Not to mention the 50 foot waves!!! http://www.space.com/23513-super-typhoon-haiyan-space-photos.html

Don't you know the first hit's always free?

How do you know you have never done crack while in a drunken stupor? :tease:

Pretty sure things have changed since the 80's. Could be wrong but I doubt it.

That's why we used to keep it on the DL. I remember one fall before the section below HWY 2 closed on Wilmot my 2 buddies and I were just crushing fish @ the first bend below the bridge. A couple of guys came walking down and asked us if we were having any luck. we said nope it's pretty slow. At the time my buddy and I both had fish on but we let off all tension so the rods were not bent and it looked like we were just bottom bouncing. As soon as they walked around the corner and out of site we resumed the fight!! You need to be able to disguise things if it comes to that. If we hadn't thought quickly and gone into stealth mode there would have been 2 more people trying to crowd us out of a really small piece of water. We poked 15 or 20 trout out of that hole in just a couple of hours.

I have an engine start problem, please advise.
DRIFTER_016 replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I usually check spark using one of the spark plugs. Pull plugs out and plug one into a plug wire and ground out against the engine. Watch for the spark to jump across the plugs gap. First thing to do if you find that there is indeed no spark is to test the CDI unit and the Stator assembly. I have info at home on my 1991 Merc that should cover this in the Merc repair manual I have. I can send you the pertinent info if you like. If so PM me your email address and I'll try to do it after lunch today. -
It just keeps getting better and better!!! http://www.vice.com/en_ca/read/rob-fords-office-hired-a-hacker-to-destroy-the-crack-tape
