  1. Wildest thing I have experienced on the ice was when a pressure crack let go near the shore on Simcoe back in the 80's. We were fishing the lake trout grounds 12 miles out in an outfitters hut when around lunch time there was a huge vibration, the hut jumped in the air and water came gushing out of the hole!!!! When we went in at the end of the day the outfitter said he had to drop us off near shore and we had to walk into shore to their place. There was a 15'-20' wall of ice pushed up right near the shore that wasn't there when we went out!!! It was pretty impressive!!
  2. Lets stand around looking at the pretty little back disk instead of trying to take possession of said disk!!!!
  3. Doubt they will void your warranty seeing how my local Polaris/Yamaha dealer sells a package with them.
  4. Call Ardisam and tell them the choke lever has broken and you need a new one. They will most likely send you the parts. I have one of the CT rebranded Makos and it broke before I even got to use it!!! Way too much plastic on those augers. Anyway, I called customer service and told them the issue and they immediately sent me 2 replacements in case I had another problem. Good customer service from them. http://www.ardisam.com/contactUs/ If I remember correctly the lady you want to talk to is Eva.
  5. USPS in the states does do pickups. You can also arrange the pickup on line just like the couriers do. We get all of our Cabelas and BPS deliveries through CPOST up here. The only time we don't is some over sized items come Purolator and there are no extra charges above what you pay @ checkout on line.
  6. Cliff To get a proper 8kw solar system you will be paying more than the cost of the generator installed. Been doing lots of research as I'm going to be installing a smaller system to run my cabin with a generator backup to help recharge my battery bank during the darkness of winter here. You can do a grid tied system which will pay you back $$$$ for power sold to the hydro company but you will need a transfer switch, battery bank, solar controller etc....... For a proper system for your home you will be looking at double or triple the cost of the generator plus you have maintenance that you must perform on the batteries to keep them healthy. Go with the generator if you only need it for backup power.
  7. For the cost of them you would be better off buying an inexpensive sled.
  8. Yep, what you see is what you pay. No hidden fees just like Cabelas.
  9. Yep, I stream at work too. Been listening to CFNY since the "Spirit Of Radio" days back in the late 70's. The Late 70's through the 80's were definitely the best. IMHO
  10. PFFFT, y'all got into the GPS thing late. This was my first "portable" GPS.
  11. Not new any way. He may be able to pick up an '03 or '04 for $10K I'm pretty sure he could pick up an '05 like mine for his top range of $15K if he looked around. I bough mine used in '08 for $30K
  12. Can't forget Pete & Geets either. Probably the best morning drive show Toronto ever had.
  13. I hear ya Cliff!!! We have already had more -40 days this winter than the last two winters combined. Luckily I have already secured accommodations for my get away. I'm heading down to St. Pets FLA for 6 weeks in mid February. I have buddies that live in Tampa so will be having a good old time. My one buddy is a guide and is going to supply me with a small flats skiff to use during my trip. We are probably going to head down to the keys and chase bones for a few days too. Got 4 Tampa Bay Lightning games to go to while I'm there as well. I did a lot of searching on the web for a place as well. Here are some of the sites I used in my search. http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/south-carolina/myrtle-beach http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation-rentals/south-carolina/myrtle-beach.html http://www.flipkey.com/myrtle-beach-vacation-rentals/g54359/ I ended up finding my rental on Craigs List. They also had the listing on one of the above vacation rental sites so I wasn't worried about it being a scam. http://myrtlebeach.craigslist.org/vac/
  14. The show was tolerable when Jason was there but sucked after he left. I miss the Humble and Fred days. Those guys were fun.
  15. My Honda Pilot with 3.5L V6 would tow it no problem with 1500#'s to spare.
  16. Yes, 4 season tents have the fly go almost to the ground. This is my Eureka on Great Slave in mid January.
  17. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO, two whole days? I'm surprised there wasn't a mass die off!!!
  18. Yes, there can be damage done to the front of the sled due to sharp pieces of ice and rocks. I had the bolts tear out on me and since have used 1/8" aluminum sheet to sandwich the front of the tub. No issues since this has been done.
  19. Who said I was awake? A balmy -37 here, -44 windchill.
  20. Get a good sleeping bag, pad and tent and you won't need a heater. The only heater I would use in a tent is one of the Buddy heaters as they have 1/ a tip over system that shuts them off if knocked over and 2/ a system that shuts them off if there is not enough O2 in the space. I have camped on the ice outside of Yellowknife in January with no heater, you should be able to camp down South without a heater too.
  21. It's obvious to me why they lost out......................TOO MANY SENS DRAFT PICKS WERE ON THE TEAM!!!!!!
  22. Almost forgot, the best spoons are glow in the dark.
  23. Best fishing for ling is at night. Dead bait on bottom and jigging spoons tipped with bait are the best producers.
