Left hand walleye trolling reel w/ line out alarm?
DRIFTER_016 replied to scugpg's topic in General Discussion
If you're looking for a lefty line counter there aren't many options. The Okuma Coldwater CW-203DLX Diawa Sealine SG27LC3BLW & SG47LC3BL Diawa Accudepth ADP27LCBLW & ADP47LCBL Are pretty much the only options. -
Been there, done that. As said, tape it to the next toe over and drink lots of rum!!!

Left hand walleye trolling reel w/ line out alarm?

I know the 5501 & 6501's don't have clickers but the 6601CB I have does have a clicker. The Cardinal C4 6601 has a clicker the 5601 does not. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Reels/Casting-Reels%7C/pc/104793480/c/104760180/sc/104259780/Abu-Garciareg-C4-Round-Baitcasting-Reel/1677874.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fcasting-reels%2F_%2FN-1102352%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104259780%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104760180&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104760180%3Bcat104259780 -
Got some disturbing news on Friday. Seems one of the fires burning here in the NWT is getting too close to Plummers Great Slave Lake Lodge. They evacuated the guests on Saturday as well as most of the staff. This weeks guests have been shipped up to the lodge on Great Bear. The fire is within 1km of the lodge right now and the wind is gusting to 60k here in town. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/n-w-t-fishing-lodge-evacuated-due-to-forest-fire-1.2705205 Over 3000 square miles of the NWT have burnt already this year.

Looks great TJ!!!!! Got my dock done so I can start lumber jacking and lay out my foundation @ my place.
-
Thanks Cliff. Got out today and got the deck installed on the main dock so now I have a working dock. The winds have been pretty bad the last couple of weeks and the dock came through in great shape. My guess is there must have been 3+ footers as the water came far enough up the rock to lift and move three of the four 5/4 deck boards I left at the head of the ramp. Here are a few shots of the mostly finished dock. Still have some dock edging to put on and a couple of tie off rings.

I upgraded from a 90 two stroke to a 115 four stroke last year and it lightened my wallet by $14.5K!!!! The whole boat/motor/TM/trailer combo was $19.5K when I bought it new in '91.

Smoke? All is good here other than not being able to breathe. There was a fire close to my lease a few weeks ago but it was doused quickly. It was @ a hydro dam a couple of miles away. Seems a raven landed on one of the transformers got fried, burst into flames and ignighted the forest!!! The smoke has been thick all summer here. Woest I have seen since 1999. The view here in YK this evening. Over 1,700 square miles of the NWT has burnt so far this summer. Fire Map http://www.nwtfire.com/cms/nwt-fire-map

Does that mean anything over 10hp needs to be registered?
-
I believe you are correct. If I remember correctly anything over 10hp needs to be registered in Ontario. I know my first boat (12' with 5.5 didn't need to be)

Go to the apps page and it will be under accessories I believe. Don't 8 here and will never run it on my day to day 'puter as it's crap!!! Got it on a test machine @ work so if you can't find it let me know and I'll check tomorrow.

There are a couple of ways you can tackle the PDF marking. 1/ print it off, mark, scan and email or send snail mail 2/ Open the doc on your computer, do a screen capture, save as an image file ie JPEG, open in a program like paint and mark the areas and email the file back. If you have Windows 7 or 8 you can use the snipping tool to do a screen capture.

Yep, when I'm working on it around the house I use my floor jack and lift off the corner and then place a jack stand in front on the side rail. If I have to jack in the field I do it using a bottle jack just behind the tire.

Won't have to wait long.

outboard issues - intermittently loses power
DRIFTER_016 replied to bare foot wader's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like and electrical issue. Did you replace the spark plugs? Had an issue with a plug a couple of years ago where it was cutting in and out. Brand new plug was defective. Could be a coil pack or a loose connection in the ignition circuit. Check ignition wires as well. -
Exactly. One road I travel every year is 700km long dirt road. That's the one that trashed my camper. The alternative is an extra days travel in each direction. The road to my cabin has about 10kms of gravel right now. 8kms is new road that they are still working on so there is lots of loose stuff and lots of traffic both ways. Oncoming traffic does as much damage as your own vehicle. Hopefully it will all be paved by the end of summer. The frost heaves are hard on trailers too. Saw a guy with a pig pontoon boat snap a spring and lose an axle on the road North of town last summer. T'was an ugly scene.
-
Lew, they don't do jack on our roads. Had one on when I was towing my camper to Alaska. Ended up with broken electric brake wiring, broken drain valve on the water tank, broken clearance lights, broken battery box, the front of the trailer looks like a midget sat on the tongue beating on the front of it with a ball peen hammer and I had a rock bounce off the front of the trailer and through the back window of the truck!!! The only thing that will save a boat from rock damage up here is one of these: http://www.trailertux.com/ Even with one you will still get chips where it doesn't cover.
-
If you think ramps are the only issue, try our frost heaved gravel roads!!! Given enough time I will be able to repaint with out having to remove any of the old paint!!!
-
I jack off the rear corner of the frame when working on the wheels of the trailer for my 18' Aluminium.

I got my 2wt from Cabelas. It's one of their PT blanks. Nice rod & reasonable price. If you're looking for a good rod I'm sure any of the good fly shops can get to a Sage or other brand. I bought mine to use on the pond trout that I stocked out back of my place when I lived in Ontario. Caught rainbows to 6#'s on it. Unfortunately they no longer make them but there are other choices that are reasonably priced. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fly-Fishing/Fly-Fishing-Rods%7C/pc/104793480/c/104721480/sc/105573780/Cabelas-TQR-Fly-Rods/712113.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffly-fishing-rods%2F_%2FN-1102568%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105573780%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104721480&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104721480%3Bcat105573780#productChart http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fly-Fishing/Fly-Fishing-Rods%7C/pc/104793480/c/104721480/sc/105573780/TFO-Lefty-Kreh-Finesse-Fly-Rods/710839.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffly-fishing-rods%2F_%2FN-1102568%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105573780%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104721480&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104721480%3Bcat105573780#productChart http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fly-Fishing/Fly-Fishing-Rods%7C/pc/104793480/c/104721480/sc/105573780/TFO-Lefty-Kreh-Signature-II-Fly-Rods/1309656.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffly-fishing-rods%2F_%2FN-1102568%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105573780%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104721480&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104721480%3Bcat105573780#productChart http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fly-Fishing/Fly-Fishing-Rods%7C/pc/104793480/c/104721480/sc/105573780/Echo-Carbon-Fly-Rod/1570859.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffly-fishing-rods%2F_%2FN-1102568%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105573780%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104721480&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104721480%3Bcat105573780#productChart
