  1. Over the years I have caught tons of good pike here. Any of the bays and narrows are good this time of year. There are also some giant crappie to be caught here now too. https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Honey+Harbour,+ON/@44.875937,-79.8201529,2097m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x4d2ae7a34a9fdca3:0x73782744a5fe9b47
  2. You do realize yer not supposed to drink it, right?
  3. Here you go Pete. Find the panel you want and click on where to buy for a list of dealers. Pretty much any marine supply place should be able to order you one if needed. https://www.bluesea.com/products/category/DC_Panels/WeatherDeck
  4. My guess would be a plugged relief hole.
  5. Had a bearing cap fall off once while on a trip. As a temporary fix I used a cut off pop can and a hose clamp until I could get a replacement.
  6. Somewhere I have a picture of 32# and 18# lakers on the same rig. Landed too.
  7. Use a paint scraper and elbow grease. I replaced all the carpet in my boat and every piece is/was glued to aluminium. All the floor boards in my boat are aluminium as well. The only wood on my boat is the core of the transom and two pieces of teak on the top decks.
  8. This what you're looking for? http://www.stephensons.ca/index.php/2011/05/24/pipe-cutter-6-soil-ratchet/
  9. Sure you can!!! Open your drivers door!!! Problem solved!!!
  10. I just pull right over to the curb so they can't pass me. Last thing I want to do is pass them at every stop light. Each time I worry about clipping them with my mirror when the road is busy and there is no room to pull over.
  11. When I rebuilt the helm in my boat I put quick disconnects in the wiring harness for easy removal. I also installed a new power center and VHF as well as new gauges, steering wheel, steering wheel and helm...... This is what it looked like before. And my wiring on the back side of the new helm. And the after view. The cover on the switch plate comes off and there are fuses underneath it. Saves having to crawl under the dash to find out which one is dead if there is a problem.
  12. Your in it far enough that you should do it right. The steering cable is easy to disconnect from the helm. The wiring, not so much but is not a big deal if you take your time and make good notes of where all the wires are supposed to go. Looks like no issue removing and reinstalling the straps over the gas tank. Why not replace it with a plastic or fiberglass unit? FYI, this is the kind of project you do in the garage in the winter.
  13. Shanny & Babs are talking. http://www.tsn.ca/babcock-shanahan-talk-coaching-position-1.279834
  14. If you are looking for an even smaller knot for heavier leaders try this one out. For light leaders I use a back to back UNI knot.
  15. Sinker, we don't have any of that crap on our roads up here that yooze guys in Ontario do. I agree with the steel over aluminum for durability. Especially on our frost heaved roads and the portages through the bush on our ice roads. If I had the $$$ to run out and buy a trailer better than the home made job I run it would be similar to this but steel. I like the drive on/drive off trailers. Enclosed trailers that they seem to sell out West are big $$$ and take up a lot of room.
  16. That is pretty creepy, looking at those Jr commies playing instruments bigger than them.
  17. Have you forgotten already Matt? It was only 2 weeks ago you had that feeling.
  18. I generally use Seaguar Blue Label flouro leader material. It's a little more $$$ but is tough as nails. I use 40# on my trolling outfits I use for lakers and pike. http://www.seaguar.com/saltwater/fluorocarbon.html For lighter lines I use Sunline FC Super Sniper as it comes in bigger spools and really works quite well for me. I use a lot of the 8# when fishing steelhead and trout in rivers and it works great. http://www.sunlineamerica.com/super-fc-sniper/
  19. There are different sizes for different sized flatfish. See the link I posted.
  20. The same thing happened closer to the dam years ago and it did the same to the fishing. It has all been washed out now though. Didn't take too long if I remember correctly. A few good floods pushed all the trees out and washed the sediment out into the lake.
