Might be worth looking down South if you don't mind the trip to pick it up. Seen quite a few on CL in Florida when I was boat shopping.

That's the only consolation. Pick #4 should be Dylan Strome which would not be a bad thing.

Options/opinions for slowing troll speed
DRIFTER_016 replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
If I need to really slow things down like I did last summer laker fishing I troll using my bow mount electric. It enables me to slow right down (slowest I could get on a flat calm lake with the big motor was 2MPH) I dropped down to just over 1MPH with the electric @ about 35%-40% speed. Caught me a bunch of fish using this technique. T'was nice and quiet too. -
New to me Mercury Mariner 2 hp 2 stroke outboard!!
DRIFTER_016 replied to northernpike56's topic in General Discussion
I run the Mercury stuff in my new engine but just run the stuff from Canadian Tire in my older engines. I change lower unit oil in the fall when putting the boat away for the winter. Depending on how much use your engine gets and the quality of the water you run in will dictate how often you need to replace your impeller. I generally wait longer and replace about every 5 years. I don't suck a lot of dirt or mud in my engine though. The guys out West that run glacial rivers need to replace them every year because of all the silt in the water. If you don't use the motor for a long time the impeller will take a set and not seal as well any more. -
Amazing how he got 2 assists with an arm that's snapped in half.

Mine did not come with a primer bulb and in the installation instructions it said not to install one. It has 2 fuel pumps a lift pump which primes the system and a high pressure pump that supplies the fuel injectors with fuel. Maybe on smaller FI engines this could be the case. My 2013 115HP 4 stroke also does not have a built in water separator as far as I know just an inline fuel filter. Of course I could be wrong here as it's been many months since I was under the cowling. Next month she will come out for preseason maintenance though.

Stone has a microfracture of the wrist. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/p-k-subban-avoids-suspension-for-slash-on-mark-stone-reports-1.3035607 http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/mark-stone-suffers-fractured-right-wrist-on-slash-by-p-k-subban-1.3035802

Actually I thought that too and I'm not a Habs fan.

It applies perfectly. Just remove the aux tank and 3 way valve from the equation and the OP will have what he wants.

What 'signals' the true beginning of spring?
DRIFTER_016 replied to Beavertail's topic in General Discussion
The sure sign of spring here is when the first batch of skitters arrives. Usually there is still ice on the lakes and these slow, dumb pterodactyl sized skitters hatch. They are easy to defend against since they are slow and the numbers are low. The later hatches are another story. They are small fighter plane fast bugs that come in huge squadrons!!!! -
I'm using a Racor with see through bowl and dual inlets/outlets. Don't know the exact model but it's similar to this one but it has the dual inlet/outlets and this only looks like it has single. I went into West Marine and looked through what they had in stock and picked one with the dual ports. http://www.westmarine.com/buy/racor--10-micron-spin-on-series-fuel-filter-water-separator-o-b-320--484964

The 3 way valve in my installation does not isolate the the engines, just the tanks from each other. This way I know if running on the aux tank and I run out of fuel I still have 22 gallons in my main tank. I could have just plumbed the second tank into the aux input but then wouldn't have the control over where the fuel is coming from that I wanted. The unused port has a brass plug threaded into it. The housing came with two of these incase you only have one tank and motor.

Don't know what criteria they used to pick the payload but I think a Boston Creme would have been a better choice!! http://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/swedish-brothers-launch-a-donut-into-space/49264/

A bit of hair spray and a match!! You can also try a ratchet strap around the circumference of the tire as this pushes in on the middle while forcing the beads outwards. I like the explosive approach myself!!!!

I run a Racor fuel filter system that has dual inlets and outlets like this one from Sierra. http://www.westmarine.com/buy/sierra--fuel-water-separator-kit-1-4-stainless-for-yamaha-outboard-motors--5327093?green=AAD15C8E-D1A3-511C-BA5C-3A62F7BC0EFD&cm_sp=Onsite-Recs-_-MB-_-PDP I have an auxiliary 12 gallon tank I run on long trips but don't use the dual inlets as I put in a 3 way valve so I can run off either the rear or front tanks separately. With the two line out ports, one goes to the main and one to the kicker.

When I lived in Ontario I had my boat insurance through Dominion of Canada. Great rates and had full replacement value. Had them on my boat for for 15 years before moving out of province. My insurance agent @ the time hooked me up with them.

The best thing about the Habs playing the Sens in the first round is I don't have to cheer for the Sens. God help us all if the Sens beat the Habs though!!!

Alright Richard Here is my short list of lodges you should look into. You can't go wrong with any of these lodges. Katmai lodge is amazing. If you go make sure to take some giant flesh flies. 6"-12" long. Fish them behind the cleaning table after dinner. You will get into some piggy 30"+ rainbows that hang there to gorge on scraps from cleaning. The Goodnews is a has a great king run as well as having all 4 pacific salmon species present (You will only get into a maximum of 4 depending on timing) and it also has rainbows and dollies too. Hoodoo has great fishing for all salmon species as well as the ever present rainbows and dollies. My buddies brother in law runs the lodge and another friend is the cook there. The Kvichak, Naknek & Aleknagik Rivers are another bunch of great fishing destinations you could hit. So there you have it 6 different rivers with first class lodges for you to choose from. Let us know what you come up with. P.S. book early as these lodges all book up during the prime runs.
