Howdy folks. Looking for any suggestions for a cottage resort that is family friendly with a nice beach and some half decent bass/pike and panfish for the kids. Looking for somewhere about 3.5 hours from Newmarket. Thank you.

Small minnows work well

Finally had a chance here to fish the shad run on the lower Susquehanna river at the coniwingo dam where it pours into Chesapeake Bay. It was a lot of fun and caught many fish. Shad fight really good on light tackle and are acrobatic and jump and give several good runs. It is a catch and release fishery only. I was able to catch American, Hickory and Gizzard shad, along with carp.

Hi All Would like to do a short(3 days) fly in trip early August with some buddies that are not hard core fisherman. Would like to fish for pike, walleye or bass. Any recommendations on an anywhere we could drive to maximum if 5 hours from Newmarket area and then carch a flight? Thanks.

The 400te is the reel I use for double 10s. Just make sure you also point the rod at the bait. Revo toro winch, shimano tranx have lower gear ratios and will be easier to bring In double 10s.

Thanks for all the feedback buys. Sounds like a toss up between the compres and the mojos.

Anybody have any experience with these rods? I was thinking of getting a spinning and a casting rod.
