Do the Flip Flops ever come off?
-
This thread is awesome

Apples and oranges. FNC shows you where to go and how much of a great time you can have if you follow their co-ordinates. Extreme Angler is a much more in-depth look at the techniques and tools to use in an appropriate situation. The target audience is probably a little different, too. FNC= casual/recreational X-Treme A= more than casual... much more.

Seeing as this is one of the hardest winters to hit in a long time, I think we need to take a look at some summer pics and stay positive about the upcoming seasons. Because eventually summer will return. I know it seems a little far-fetched, but trust me on this one. Lets see some of your favourite summer pics...

Yeah, I didn't see the sticker on the blades. Beauty bait. When are we going to be able to get our hands on some of those?

Whoever said that in-lines have fallen out of favour with the musky diehards is way off base. The inline that raf showed has been in every mag I've picked up in the last two years. Guys are throwing them during the day, At night, summer, fall, all the time. I think they're well over the 250 fish over 50in mark now. Also, again like Lew said, sand and reeds near known spawning areas hold some good fish and alot of them will go after a spinnerbait burned through those areas. On opening day, I won't head out on the water without a selection of both baits.
-
I like both equally. More often than not, I'll throw the in-line to cover water real quick. If there are any snags like timber or, like Lew said, heavy weeds, the spinnerbait gets the nod. I haven't been musky fishing that long, but I'd say fish caught are 50-50 spinnerbaits vs. in-lines.

There are lots of places that you can watch Lost on the intraweb. If you're patient, the previous weeks episode airs one hour before the new episode every week. The cool thing is that they put up captions while you're watching, relaying all sorts of tidbits that tie the characters and plotlines together.

Is that Beech lake in Haliburton? Small population of lakers in there. You'd be better off hitting Maple or Boshkung/12Mile.

Wasn't Walter a rainbow trout?

I really like KVD and Iaconelli as well. Tight leaderboard. Thanks for posting that! I'll be keeping an eye on the tourney this weekend.

Is the muskie in your AV OOS too? Otherwise, I like the one in your AV better. Nice bag O' Crappie, they probably tasted great. Congrats on a good day.

Bucktail, you said it. No Shimano products? I was really hoping that they'd have a deal on the Stradic. Guess I'll have to get another T.Daiwa.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned lipless cranks yet. One of my favourite approaches for spring trout. Like troutologist said, look for current areas. Also sand flats are good too. I look for expansive flats that drop fairly quickly into deeper water. Fish can be anywhere depthwise, so I like to hang out over deep water and keep an eye on the finder to see if theres any action off the structure. The cranks really turn them on. Use ones with lots of sound. I like the 3/4oz Berkly Frenzy, casts like a bullet and makes TONS of racket!!! Thanks for the heads up Bob D. I'll be watching that for sure. I've tried drop-shotting with limited success and think it would be a great technique in anyones bag of tricks.

Theres a movie with Luke Wilson called Idiocrasy. The whole premise is theres a guy who's part of an experiment. He gets put in some sort of sleep chamber and forgotten for a bunch of years. When hes awaken, the world around him has changed for the worse. I can't remember all the details, but essentially all the people are as stupid as they come. The presidents name is Beef Supreme and a drink company has replaced water. They can't seem to figure out why plants won't grow using the stuff. The guys in the picture look EXACTLY like the guys that started everything in that flick. I kindof hope that the outlet got submerged shortly after that pic was taken.

My daughter isn't old enough to date. But when she is, I'll have a few of those waiting to be handed out. Thanks for that, walleyemen!

I don't fish it much. But I know there are some good sized Largemouth and Smallmouth in there. There should also be some Lakers and Whitefish. I've only ever shore fished there, but the results were good.

LOL Roy..."...If you could just swipe your card, no, the stripe goes the other way. Now enter whatever amount you feel comfortable with. Thank-you sir. Have a nice day..." And on to the next car.

10 Things NOT to Say When You are Pulled Over

My old boss used to raise spinner/tumbler pigeons. Very cool bird. Every now and again hawks would take a pigeon. Very cool how they would do it though. The pigeons would be flying and tumbling, doing their thing. When the hawk showed itself, it was always beneath the pigeons. This would push the flock up a little further. The hawk would dissapear and the flock would start coming down to land and the hawk would fly under them again, pushing them back up again. This would happen anywhere from one to maybe ten times, depending on how strong the birds felt that day. Sooner or later though, the pigeons would invariably be too exausted and would land on a house and POW!!! The hawk would do its thing. Awesome creatures. Truly an Apex predator in the air.

No-one can trade with A.Silva. Theres always a punchers chance(see Serra vs GSP 1), but I just don't see him getting stopped standing. IF he were to drop down, I would say GSP would have to do what Henderson will try and do. Get inside and try and get the fight to the mat. I think Hendo may take that one if he succeeds in getting Silva down and keeps him there. If he can't, it'll be a long night for Dan.

Looks like a good year! Congrats on the sturgeon. I'm sure you were more than a little surprised when you got that one up to the surface! Right on.
