  1. Yeah, I saw your recent report MTBF - The perch are pretty tiny; or was that just "stroke of luck"? How big do the perch get there? I'm asking - also because its a tie of either hitting SIMCOE or SCUGOG. Separate question to everyone.... Which place would most of you guys/girls out there hit - if you had either option??
  2. Hey OFC'ers, A buddy and myself are planning on going fishing tomorrow @ Port Perry's Causeway... Was just wondering what can we expect to catch around that area? (mainly, for this time of year) This is my 1st time to ever fish there - so I thought I'd ask others who has had experience fishing there.... I was planning on bringing some FROZEN DEAD BAITS (Sardines and Minnows)... and a few Jerkbaits. (in hopes for some PIKE!) What other baits/lures should I bring? What can you suggest? Any/all input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! RoB PS: Hopefully we'll be coming back with an awesome fishing report....
  3. a great video on the different styles of RIGS for this type of TROUT BAIT. Click to watch the video. EDIT: The only problem I have with this video, are the size of TROUT BAIT he puts on the hook - looks almost enough to catch a largie!
  4. LOL - So, I was watching "Getting Hooked w/ Aaron & Barry" and they were fishing for Freshwater Drum... It had me thinking - Has anyone been crazy enough to ever eat one?! LOL - If so, what do they taste like? This really peaked my curiosity, so I thought I'd ask! Great day for fishing today - Too bad I'm not heading out! Brother's BDAY....
  5. Great Report! Yeah, I've seen those Spinnerbaits before... What's the name of that company/manufacturer? I saw them once @ the Sportsmen's show... 1st time using them?
  6. Looks like its back to basics... SHORE FISHING! hehe... and then, while your at that... you can admire other peoples nice boats.... At least that's what I do!

  17. Yeah... my parents are friends with 1 of the priests there... EDIT: I just checked the regs for ZONE16... found nothing regarding Marie Lake?
  18. Hey OFC'ers, I'm heading up with my family to King City to a lake called "Marie Lake" - I was just curious if anyone's ever fished there before? And what fish can we expect to catch there? Any thoughts would be much appreciated... Click HERE for the map. Thanks! Rob UPDATE: So, As you all know/read - I've been recently granted temp. access to fish Marie Lake (AKA: Mary Lake) at the Monastery. My apologies in advance, I don't have any pictures (cause my camera died! ) ARGH!!! Anyway, I was able to fish the lake for maybe a total of 2hours (on a small tinny). I have NEVER fished a lake with SOO MANY ACTIVE FISH! Mostly PIKE (hammerhandles) but MAN was the action intense... We were using 4" Yellow Tubes and basically just dragging it along the bottom w/ the occasional pop. Our lures would get a hit every 5min - SO MUCH ACTION!! My little cousin (13yrs) was having so much fun - but didn't like the teeth on the pike! LOL!! The best part of this whole experience - The guy that took us on the Tinny (works for the Monastery P/T) is a Tournament Fisherman. He's offered me the privilege to fish with him on his boat sometime - and maybe even in a tourny with him! :| (I'm not counting on the tourny - considering money is involved & I wouldn't wanna be the reason why he lost! ) Anyway, if you ever are granted temp. access to fish this lake - bring your PIKE gear. According to the 'guide' that took us out - there are some trophy sized pike and bass. From what I can recall - He's told me there are PERCH, PANFISH, PIKE and BASS in this lake. Well, that's my report - again, sorry I couldn't attach any pictures!
  19. OMG! That's a BEAUT.... the fish isn't bad looking either! Seriously.... nice catch tho! Congrats to the GF!
