Hey Addicts, I am heading down to PORT PERRY/SCUGOG tomorrow.... I was just curious of the following.... 1) How is the CRAPPIE fishing? 2) What are my odds of catching a MUSKY/PIKE there? **Never caught a MUSKY!** and finally... 3) It's assumed that its going to rain tomorrow...Any tactics anyone can suggest in terms of fishing? Thanks Folks! RoB

My prayers and thoughts with you all during this hard time. I'm sure she knew how much you guys really loved her!
-
I'm hittin' the BOG on Saturday... Hoping to lay into some good slabs!
-
I gotta learn to tie a hair-rig and other rigs "Carpers" use... NICE FISH!
-
As far as what I've learned from here.... I've seen/noticed guys catching fish on the following... MEPPS in SIZE 0, 1, 2, or 3. **Even on the PINK BODIED ones [Not Shown]** Or this... MEPPS COMET Or if you prefer to do some "Float Fishing", and letting it drift down stream naturally... If you use the SEARCH TOOL (Upper Right-Hand Corner of Website).... search keywords like "river" "river baits"... something specific to whatever your looking for, You'll be surprised how many results come up. Also, keep in mind... This search engine looks for posts with whatever "word" you chose. So, if you chose "Bass".... there's gonna be a TONNE of BASS results....but if you put something like "River Bass"... the search engine will look for posts with both "River" and "Bass" in its results...Essentially "narrowing" the search down a bit.

Try using small inline spinner (Mepps)... in size 3 at largest. Bronze/Gold work well... So with one's with a Pink body. Checkout their website: http://www.mepps.com/products/browse/ Also, Float Fishing is a great idea... using worms (even real)...or even some of the Berkley Gulp stuff....

Hey OFC'ers, Was out fishing on FRIDAY... Headed to a trib nearing the mouth, but saw the river conditions and didn't like what we saw.... TOO MUDDY. Couldn't see worth a damn 4" in front of the fishes face! So... instead we decided to hit Lake Scugog.... AWESOME DECISION.... People all around us were catching... not as much as we'd like... but at least they were co-operating for the short period. Manage to land a few decent sized fish....Fished there for a good 3-4hrs. On the drive home to drop off my cousin at his place....we get pulled over....(for running amber light)....PO comes up to the window and says "You know why I pulled ya over?"... I reply "Yeah, cause I ran what was ALMOST a red light".....I continue to say..."I couldn't slam on the breaks as hard as I would like... my Truck is almost at 400,000kms... I wouldn't dare test her breaking distance"....He then asks "So, where are you guys headed"... "we replied home... after fishing".... he asks "Oh yeah? Where'd you guys fish"... We tell him where...He continues to ask "Oh yeah! I fish that area... any luck?".... we then reply "...Yeah! some of it is in the back to take home and eat"....He then goes to say "...Ok guys, Just drive safe...".... I honestly think he let me go (without a ticket) because he was a fellow angler... and knows the area we went. hahaha... Pretty awesome tho, eh? Anyway... Here's a pic taken at around 11:30pm....Pardon the clarity... it was taken off my cellphone. Anyway... that's my report....Enjoy the pic

LoL! Funny... I JUST realized that!! Hahaha... leave me alone!

I've caught a few Largies in the area before... mostly by the dam.... not many large ones... but when you DO find one, they're of decent size.

I was @ LeBaron in Mississauga last night.... They had a sale on Power Pro as well....I believe it was $14.99.... They're also having a sale on Braid by Stren (Sinking Braid) for $13.99...... http://lebaron.ca/pdf_files_sp09/specials/...ials_page_f.pdf

I love using Baitcasters.... used to own 4 of 'em... now only 3.... 2 of which are spooled with Flourocarbon.... last one is with 50lb. Power Pro. My 1st baitcaster was a Shimano Citica combo. Bought it at Lebaron..... starting loving Baitcasting so much.... started looking into buying seperate rods and reels... anyway... ABU's are great too - I've got 4 of those too....

Those are some serious looking swimbaits?! Who are they by? Where can I get some?
-
I almost always see Alewife swimming around ALL THE TIME... especially around PORT CREDIT area to the EAST parking lot. I've also seen them around LAKEFRONT PROMENADE Park.... to the EAST Marina.
-
I've fished a lot of times from shore there - never been bothered once. If that's the case... I don't see any postings about "No Fishing"...
-
Whoa!! Those are some SERIOUS SIZED MUSKY!! Way to go!! ....Can't wait to hook into my 1st still

Found another good website... http://www.lindylittlejoe.com/fishing_tips..._Care_101.shtml Just search online - There are tonnes of info to read regarding Leeches...
-
Leeches are pretty hardy creatures and will survive quite a while if kept in cool, fairly clean water. In a covered container kept in a refrigerator they will live for weeks or months if you change the water once a week or so. Keep the container covered or they may crawl out of the container and die without being in water. SOURCE: http://www.sportscomet.com/Fishing/187113.htm

If you've gone to Promenade... the marina is a good spot... just be sure to cover lots of water. Tons of fish to be had....

Hey OFC'ers, Last night, Jip and I drove around looking for other spots along Lakeshore in Toronto that we could fish. Came across THIS SPOT along BATHURST and LAKESHORE area. I was just wondering - Has anyone ever fished there? I noticed its a terminal of sorts and that there's pay parking...but I'm sure with a lil 'charm' you can convince the attendant that you're only there to fish. I even spoke with a driver that makes regular stops to the area - he told me he's seen pike swim through there.....hmmmm?.....Anyway....back to my question(s)... 1) Has anyone ever fished there? 2) What kinds of fish have been known to be caught? Any and All input would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in Advance, RoB PS: Click HERE for the map; incase you missed it the 1st time.
