  1. From now on all yer posts must contain at least one fish pic!
  2. So tell us more about this free lunch, is it decent? any BBQ and what aboot drinks?
  3. I checked out the mouth of etobicoke creek just for the halibut and did see a nice sized salmon porpoising around on the shady side, went up to the old dam and figured I would see a few. Oh well that was a waste of time well until two chicks flashed me on the path --- WOOHOOO! when I returned to where the salmon was it was already on it's side and gasping it's last few breaths, all that and ready to die alone without doing the nasty? Awwww Oh and is the salmon run over? Naw give it more time.
  4. Well ya sure can paint a purdy picture T.J! Two questions, why is one partridge a bright color? and second can you get those rainsuits in a bullseye pattern?
  5. Not to change the subject guys, but has anyone seen my keys?
  6. The question is how much grease is leaking from the seal. Follow Bob's advice and raise the wheel again and listen. Any binding or grinding noise requires bearing inspection to qualify repair apart from the seal. Also clean all the grease on the outside. Will your trip be ok as is? No one can answer that question without inspecting the assembly.
  7. Direct word from Mercury: *OptiMax Oil is ONLY for use with OptiMax Outboard engines and is NOT approved for use with EFI or Carbureted engines manufactured by Mercury Marine, nor is it recommended for use with engines from another manufacturer. That being said, the OptiMax oil is formulated to lubricate the bottom end under different conditions than a regular carb or FI motor. A direct fuel injection engine does not mix oil with fuel so the aditive package will be different. That being said why not run a full synthetic blend with compatible specs? It will most likely be cheaper to buy per gallon than OptiMax anyways.
  8. Rizzo alright! alright! stop twisting my arm! Yes I will help you catch the monster just give me a few days notice OK?
  9. By the way there is a review on Daiwa models as well. I am kind of leaning towards the Shimano myself but let's see what new product improvements come out for 2009 http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwaluna.html
  10. Does anyone have opinions on game cameras? I take it they are great for hunting purpose but what about cottage and boat security to pick out who is snooping around. Whadyathink? Game Cameras CTC On Sale
  11. Alright Jed just how strong is Granny brewing the coff syrip ?
  12. A respectable catch Cliff and it's a purdy one! Sure looks dark out there though how well does the LED light up the area?
  13. Cabela's CDN/SIR still does not carry the full Cabela's brand name. Let's see what happens when they open the big store next season.
  14. The Woods dining shelter purchased at CTC is now rebranded as Nordic Cross made in Bangladesh! Perhaps I should do a test setup on this one. The woods sleeping bags are made in China.
  15. MEC? I keep forgetting about them
  16. New models are coming out soon and the Daiwa Pluton looks promising. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwaplutonpreview.html
  17. The only problem I have with a mattress is the height, one family member needs a high mattress at least 17 inches. Otherwise quality is king with me, I'm not buying any cheap fall apart crap good for one trip only.
  18. Thank Barnie I will check out the store. Actually this Coleman mattress can be adjusted for firmness and has coil chambers sort of, pretty good lay if I do say so. Hay Jason I want a tent not a second house! I like the design and the high sidewalls, plenty of room for a wide screen TV too I see, but would a provincial park allow me to bring in a wood stove?
  19. Dan depending on how large the crack is you may be able to have it welded to last long enough to use up the oil and decide what you want to do. The question is; are there gasses such as carbon monoxide entering the house? All methods of heating have their pros and cons but long term I prefer propane but you have to factor in the tank.
  20. Regular gas should drop to around $1.13 for Friday Sept19 so wait until after midnight if you can to fill up.
  21. Smitty with market volatility right now just place the bonds into a short term GIC. Do not invest in stocks, do not invest in gold because a good rally has happened already. Mutual funds are an uncertainty right now and due to the huge accumulating USA debt with no secure backing for their bond issues I believe that they will have to increase the interest rate to secure further money as the credit rating continues to degrade. Which means that interest rates will begin to rise long term so don't lock in right now.
  22. We know it's a project Bill However attention to details will make the difference between a C or an A+ And this is the place to get opinions! Not only from customers but business owners as well. Let's first get the store named Sugarpacket Tackle
  23. Considering our economic troubles both here and in the US make sure that slow periods such as off season and reduced consumer spending is factored into the business plan
  24. Well the gear is slowly coming together, I now have the Woods 5 pound fill sleeping bags which are great especially for the sale price, Coleman 3 burner stove, trying out the Heater Buddy, Coleman air mattress - I like the idea of cots too at least they won't leak air. I still want to buy The Cougar flats tent which would be great for the summer but the only store in Ontario that sells it is Bass Pro and when I went there last Thursday I was treated like crap instead of a valued customer! Man that store has issues So instead Cabella's get's my business and future $$$ do you think this tent is overkill? Ground sheet is as important as the tent itself so thanks for the advice guys. I may still buy the Cougar Flats as well next year. I still want to buy local so are there any recommendations for a great place to shop with good selection? Glen I tried the Holiday Inn but they claimed they were out of stock on most camping gear, did I miss their sale or something?
