  2. Go to Lebarron's. Some canadian Tire Corp stores carry some half decent winter clothing, the one on Dundas St East in Mississauga just down the road from Lebarron's is worth a look. To go with the good winter footwear, invest in the proper socks. I bought some at Lebarron's fer about $15-$17.00 per pair and they are worth it. Stay away from cotton socks at all costs, save those for Summer. If you need winter snowmobile pants complete with bib, I have an XL pair I can let you have fer free. They are in good shape. Just PM me.

  4. Reminds when I was 13 years old, a friend of mine, Claude Castilloux, and I decided we would walk the mile out to the 1st point on Cache Bay, ON Lake Nipissing to try our luck ice fishing. We had borrowed some gear like tip ups, and an ice chisel. The ice chisel came from Moise Prudhomme. a local wine connoisseur. I remember it was a nice chisel, hand-made, three razor sharp teeth, long tubular steel handle, and a leather wrist strap. Claude had borrowed it, so he began chopping the ice. As the ice was only about 4 " thick, he only made about 5 jabs at the the ice before he was through. As he made the the last spear at the ice, the chisel broke through and slipped thru his unstrapped, hands down the hole! Goodbye nice chisel. I was glad I did not borrow it. Do any of you have a similar experience to share?

  15. It was probably made in China. Many times they have difficulty coming up with the correct word/expression and that is the result. What they were trying to convey was that the item was made by adults and not by children, as may have been the case.
  16. I feel your loss. I lost my father when I was 13 years of age, and my mother passed away in the year 2000. We can have hope of seeing our loved ones again in the provision of the great resurection mentioned in God's holy word the Bible.

  18. Dec 21, 2008 - 04:26 PM Chris Hall NORTH DURHAM -- A search was carried out at the northern end of Lake Scugog this weekend as authorities scrambled to find a Little Britain man missing since Friday night after he ventured out onto the lake on his snowmobile. According to the Kawartha Lakes Ontario Provincial Police detachment, rescue efforts to locate Grant Turner, 46, began on Saturday morning after he vanished late Friday evening. Police say the Gilson Street resident left a McGill Drive address in Janetville and was making his way home across Lake Scugog while travelling on a yellow, 1996 Bombardier Skidoo MXZ. Police received a missing persons complaint around 11 a.m. on Saturday and an extensive search of the area was conducted on land and from the air by both the OPP helicopter and an OPP fixed-wing aircraft. As of Sunday afternoon, according to an OPP website, authorities have yet to locate Mr. Turner or his snowmobile. Mr. Tuner is described as a white, six feet tall and weighing 185 pounds. He has short, black hair, a fair complexion and an average build. He was last seen wearing a yellow jacket, black snow pants, a black, blue and silver coloured helmet and black Skidoo-type boots with red duct tape on the toes Police are reminding the public to stay off Lake Scugog until a significant freeze-up has taken place. Authorities add that the heavy snowfall that has taken place over the past few days has created slushy and unsafe conditions, in particular areas where there is still open water. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Mr. Turner is asked to contact Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment at 705-324-6741.
