  1. I was going to suggest Alex start a Goby farm, but that'd be pointless since Ontario is basically one big Goby farm.
  2. That is hilarious - I'm going to have to do that. Ryan
  3. Very cool V, thanks for sharing. I've been hearing these bugs since I was born, but have yet to see one. At least now I'll know what I am looking at.
  4. There must be no mussels or gobies in Lake Ontario in that case . . . got to love inferences like that.
  5. Spiel just cost me $400 - $500. Three more posts like these Spiel and I'll be drawing up a Plaintiff's Claim
  6. I'm fine with having to order WFN to watch fishing shows . . . I don't think I ever tuned into ESPN for one. It will be interesting to see what happens to BASS though . . . I suspect it will be sold.
  7. Great report guys . . . sounds like a great few days out on the water with good friends. Thanks for sharing.
  8. There was some hillbilly in at Troutfitters the one time I was there and he was ADAMANT that Belwood houses THOUSANDS of walleye. (You frequent Troutfitters Tightline? . . . Joking). Regardless, I'm not planning any pickerel trips to Belwood lake in the near future. Regardless, I was hoping Guelph Lake would stay out of the conversation as it is definitely the best lake of the three . . . but I guess it can enter the conversation with no harm done since no one with a boat will fish it.
  9. Whoa . . . I knew it was just a matter of time this season after talking to all my salmon buddies and seeing all the reports. What a beast.
  10. Yeah, I bought a few at Dollarama to let my nephew use when I'm fishing crankbaits and we're fishing heavy cover. He's 7. He's only allowed to use lures that cost less dollars than he is years
  11. You said it about G-Bay. I know where I'm buying my cottage . . . that's for sure. I was at Frying Pan Island all last week and there were some monster Bass . . .nothing smaller than 2lbs, average about 3lbs, and I saw twin 5lb SMB on a double header. It's epic up there. Nice fish and thanks for sharing
  12. Im in KW area and we're definitely getting hammered right now . . . lots of rain, thunder and lightning . . . .just on time to blow the rivers for the weekend I was out at a local resevoir and watched the storm roll in . . . pretty intense.
  13. Well if he is referring to the truck incident (which I don't think he is) the accident was reported, no charges were laid, and it took OPP 4 hours to respond (again, freak frost that caused many o' accident). If you're referring to the boat accident then he doesn't have to report it to anybody as you've been told. Regardless Polli, I don't see how police reports are your business in either case.
  14. What does a camera like that cost?
  15. Canada has great fishing - it's just not always reasonable to expect fishing to be great in an overcrowded spot that sees intense fishing pressure all year long. Mix in all the recreational boat traffic, the Pike derby, and the White-Bucket types and you have a recipe for over-fished and under-performing water.
  16. LOL I'd compare him more to "The Pain-Train - Terry Tate (Office Linebacker)" if you remember those commercials.
  17. Also - these look like the lures you can find at Dollarama for $1 a shot. I've bought a few, never fished them, would have minimum confidence while fishing them . . . time on the water is just too valuable to fish garbage lures. Go to Ebay, but bulk Rapalas, and be sure that the lures you're getting is top-of-the-line. Ryan
  18. Hello Folks, This is my first post in the photography forum. I was out last night and was bored while carping. It was cloudy, the sun was shining strong, and it was raining . . . an interesting night indeed. Sunny, Cloudy & Raining: Duck while drinking with Reflection: He swam over to us and shook off: Mother Duck: Some Feeding Ducklings: They've had enough of us: And lastly . . . my favourite: These were taken with a JVC Everio Camcorder/Camera. I'll be looking to upgrade to a professional camera should I continue to enjoy taking pics while fishing! Ryan
  19. Absolutely Not for Lots of Reasons.
  20. Thanks for the help Dave. It does have a 4L engine, and to be honest, a big bass boat might be out of my range at the moment. I might end up with something like the rig you mentioned - 14-16ft Smokecraft with 55-65HP. What kind of problems did you run into? Will the 4L help get rid of those problems? Ryan
  21. Now that's a great piece of advice. It's true, the fact is that neither lake is ideal, but they can both get the job done. A crappy day on the water is better than a good day at work or in front of the TV, so give it a shot.
  22. I agree, buggers are definitely a good ticket with SMB. Thanks for sharing again, I need to bolster my popper box and this should help. Cheers
  23. Glad to hear you're both safe JP. I agree that this is no joking matter. The same people joking about this now are the ones who'd be offering their "condolences" if there was a worse outcome, which there very well could have been. Point 4 - It's funny how the human psyche reacts to these situations - you laughed it off and fished - that sounds crazy, but it isn't. I barrel-rolled down a hill off a highway with my buddy in a freak frost, tools were flying around in his truck, we flipped 5-6 times, nobody stopped to help us, and the truck took about 5K worth of damage. We were in good moods, laughing, and later we went and played some poker - elated. There were consistent jokes about "I don't want to see you with a lawyer and whiplash next week" etc. After the shock clears, you're really just thrilled to be completely uninjured and you're amazed at the luck of it all. Thanks for clearing these things up, and thanks for whoever changed the title to this thread - it was a little classless before. Ryan
  24. I'm sure Dave could look a lot less flattering if he wanted to lol. He doesn't exactly have the physique of a titan.
