  1. cool video! What camera is that? I like that one bass who tuns back to say,"Hey buddy, why you following me?"
  2. imo a cowgirl type inline spinner and a plastic curly tail lure would be my choice of what to get next.
  3. Man that is a good tip . You are like that smart velociraptor in Jurassic Park that outwits the hunter who says "clever girl" before he gets eaten alive. Except you're a guy and human.

  5. Way back in the day when I use to fish for ski using suckers we ended up using dollar store small 6-10" yellow or orange balloons knotted to the line. We would blow them up to size based on the size of the bait.
  6. For example, If I went to the states with my RV and while on holiday caught a few bass and came back to Toronto with them. Wonder if informing the border guard would make things better (I'd have proof (border guard witness) they were not caught in Ontario and OOS).
  7. Wonder if telling the border agent on your way back would make things better or worse.
  8. I have a few plastic beads and spare skirts. I was just going to take a dremel to a plastic bead to carve out a groove for the skirt. I wanted to buy them but the price
  9. dark blue/black bladed spinnerbaits (or inline spinner with black marabou) for casting from a boat over a deep weed bed 30-40ft. Spinning it just above the weeds and let in dip in occasionally. Then follow up with long rod sweeps when the lure gets near the boat in case there are any followers.
  10. you checked ebay, aikmans reel repair and posted a WTB ad in the OFC sales forum correct? AIKMAN SPORTING GOODS REPAIR3010 Novar Rd, Mississauga, ON L5B 1S4 T: 905-277-3595
  11. btw remember to put some electrical tape (not on the inner arbor walls) or the foam tape they include in the braid line box or else your line may slip on the spool when you hook a good size fish.
  12. A nice ballbearing (my preference) swivel is a necessity especially if you are trolling inline spinners for pike/muskie, or worming for bass. Hell I pretty much use a swivel all the time except for some crankbaits and ultralight fishing with a cricket top water. Even spinner baits I am forced to use a swivel, because if it fouls up, the whole spinnerbait starts spinning. The modified albright is a great knot for flouro to braid or the uni knot too. tying to swivel I'd use the doubled uni knot for the braid and the floro but I'm going to try the triple loop for the flouro because there is proof its a really strong for floro and it wastes less line when tying it. Tying to the lure with flouro is another story. Looped knot for wobbling cranktbait, snell knot flipping in heavy cover punchbaits, triple loop knot worming. So it depends on the lure you are using imo.
  13. Might be of some use to soccer fans Tune out the World cup vuvuzela HORNS buzz on a Samsung TV
  14. The colour wears off somewhat anyhow on most braided lines. If you have trouble seeing your line, yellow is a good choice. I like the green braid with a few feet of flourocarbon. There are "clearish white" braided siperlines such as Stren Microfuse, Spiderwire Invisibraid, and Berkley Fireline. Tempted to try them but my suffix braid has not been used yet this season (oh boy does the green wash off so easily).
  15. He was just showboating trying to impress the females.
  16. Great pictures with amazing results. Bookmarked.
  17. I heard good things about that lake for muskie. Was watching a fishing show and they caught a few nice muskies there. Here's a general map. http://www.anglersat...om/lakes/25177/ Found the fishing show video. Start it at 4:10 http://www.gettinghooked.net/08Episode07.wmv
  18. With proper drag setting and good fish fighting technique (not trying to horse the fish) a weaker knot eg 13 vs 15 won't break anyhow. lol tying a complex knot is easy to do at home but out on a windy lake with the waves its so much harder. edit: This is why a walleye fisherman with 8lb line can bring in a 40" muskie. Of course I would not want to tie on a weak knot purposely just because its easy to tie. I would have loved knot wars much more if they had tested the lines soaked under water for 10 minutes.
  19. Depends on your lure: for crankbait or lures that have a wobble action, a loop type knot gives the lure the freedom to dance. A good tip I saw on a fishing show: while searching for fish eg bass using crankbaits/ spinnerbaits and switching frequently use a snap then after you learn what they are biting on, get rid of the snap and tie directly. I'm waiting for my decoy egg snap #2 Tying directly to say a punch skirt with a 1/2oz-1oz weight flipping and pitching, snell knot seems popular http://www.tackletou...punchskirt.html because when pulling, it causes the hook to pivot into the fish improving hookups. for tying to a swivel I'm not totally decided yet, I want a small knot that does use up too much line while tying it and minimizes friction when tightening up. doubled line through the eye seems to be on the strongest knots though. If you're really interested check out knot wars videos 2009-2010 http://www.fishingcl.../knot-wars-2010 but cross reference the results with their pdf http://www.fishingcl...202009_2010.pdf Also depends on how thick the flouro. For pike muskie leaders80 lb+, some of those knots are incredibly hard. I'm going to experiment with the triple loop http://www.fishingcl...-wars-episode-4 for direct tying flouro with no loop for worming and tying to swivel and see how that goes. I've used this knot all of last year, and never broke at the knot with flouro http://www.youtube.c...h?v=OGZ8SBI8sGI I tie a similar knot to above for braid and its crazy strong. too bad its wastes some line.
  20. i remember those stupid 1mil/hr electric motors. Took forever to get any where in a head wind.
  21. very cool, thanks for sharing that.
  22. radioworld.ca check prices, call BPS to compare. If its only a few bucks difference then Radioworld.ca all the way. Great service from them. Pretty sure you could price match with RadioWorld anyhow.
  23. lol I got a few from charlier2753 too. Good guy . He even asked me if I wanted to try a leader with the glow beads for night muskie. Good idea!
  24. yep been there while fishing for bass. Blue/black 1/2 oz spinnerbait letting it fall deep over 30ft weedbed and reel and pausing it, letting it fall 3-5 feet before reeling again. Trouble is the spinnerbait was made for bass and uses .035 R bend wire. Shes gonna break.
