  1. Well I had some time to kill tonight so I decided to head out, try for some carp and take the little ones for a walk. I got to my spot around 7:45 and threw in my line. This time I brought plenty of bait to chum the water. My son decided he would make sure the carp ate well tonight and tossed in a good half pound of corn. I think I will take him with me next time because as soon as I told him to stop BANG fish on. I think everybody within a square mile heard my son screaming in excitement . It ended up being my first ever carp and I am now officially hooked. It was just a baby 19"er but it still put up a decent fight. I will be out a few more times this week and would like to get one over 30" Thanks to everyone for their help on carp fishing. Dan
  2. Congrats! Looks like you'll be busy for a while
  3. My legend is great and doesn't leak a drop.
  4. They make meters too. http://www.satpro.tv/index.asp?PageAction=...OD&ProdID=7
  5. Great Report, sounds like everyone had a great time even with the winds causing problems.
  6. I've fished there too, then I quit drinking!
  7. Thanks for the help guys!
  8. Next time I'm down I'll come visit for some lunch!
  9. It's the same as cars. Do we really need to have 300HP in our cars? If I had the money I would have a 300 horse motor on the back of my boat and I would have 500HP in my tow vehicle. I believe in tourneys you want the power to get to the other side of the lake as fast as you can so you have more time to fish. But right now I'm happy with my fuel efficient 50HP four stroke.
  10. No I never made it out, I was hoping to make it out Saturday afternoon but I was helping to build a deck in Dover and it took a little longer than expected. Hopefully next weekend.
  11. Went out for 30 minutes tonight looking for carp. Managed to hook into one but it got off just as the baby started crying and I had to head home. I am curious what people use for a setup. What size hooks, float, weights, line etc. I am using a basic 6'6'' rod and spinning reel. Chumming the water with corn seemed to attract them pretty good. I'm hoping to get out tomorrow night before I leave for the week so any help would be great. Thanks, Dan
  12. Got my old Johnson out today. I was a little worried because I haven't used it in about 1 year but pulled her once and she started right up
  13. Had a great time. Made it home by 12:30am (and I only live 20 minutes away). My wife and kids were happy when they saw the fridge full of Subway and T.J. my son took ownership of my hat so I need to order a new one soon. For anybody that hasn't been to an OFC get together, make sure you get out to one. Oh ya, hometown how many reasons did we find why people shouldn't sing in public? 758?
  14. Great to meet ya! Thanks for the lure, I will be using it soon.
  15. It was a great time! It was great sharing some stories with everyone and having a drink with Dave, JP and some OFNers. T.J. I had to share your poop story with my wife this morning, I am still laughing
