  1. I dunno bout Raycroft but Kessel's working out ok, thanks.
  2. I predict they'll be on top of the league after one game.
  3. "Girls are clunky." -Beaver Cleaver -
  4. Obviously my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail??? lol Congratulations Joey and Paul with my very best wishes!
  5. Ya, looks like a Pleco. I've kept several in an aquarium and you should always have a piece of driftwood in the tank cuz they use if for roughage.
  6. Good shootin' as usually Crew! Nice job on 'em and that 19-inch plus one is a PIG! You put in the time and you deserve 'em.
  7. I do a lot of trout fishing and just hate the little buggers myself. Having said that, I don't think you're allowed to just leave 'em on shore to kill 'em. I find, though, that they occupy differnt parts of a stream than trout. Usually the areas with a bit slower current. If I'm catching a lot of chub, that usually tells me I'm fishing in the wrong spot.
  8. Hey Skinny, anytime I'm looking for recipes now, I do a google search. Just type in the fish( or meat )and the prefered cooking method( ei; grilling, poaching, oven, etc. ), and the word 'recipe' and bang!.. a TON of recipies. I don't know why anyone would buy a cookbook anymore. PS.. What time's supper and what's your address?
  9. Great points by charlesn. Maybe we're still a few issues away from implementing catch, record and release for larger, big money tournaments, but for smaller, local events.. wow!
  10. That's a terrific Smallie and sounds like you enjoyed a nice fight on that light equipment. Congratualtions!
  11. Just don't know which I like best! They're fantastic. I love your style of work, Bushart. I can almost tell a painting when I see it that it's a 'Bushart!'
  12. That's funny that you mentioned Pinks. I remember how they'd show up in Erie tribs back in the mid 80s. At that time, we'd be fishing for Bows and didn't like hooking into Pinks because we were told they were such terrible tablefare. Anyhoo, I also remember being told they ran the tribs every 2nd year. Is that true??? Out of sight, out of mind, but it would be nice to know they're still around.
  13. I was watching 'em busting on the surface a couple of days ago while trying for bass so I switch over to a little spinner and caught a few. They really have the look of a ocean fish like a snapper and they're so quick. Fun on light gear. Oh and I did see a bunch of flyfishers after 'em as well.
  14. I love those little Mooneyes. They're usually willing to scrap when the Bass aren't. I think they really tire themselves out, too, because it seems like you need to spend a bit of extra time to revive them before they take off.
  15. Hey, there's a woodworking club close to you in Waterloo! I think you can join for something like $100 a year and you can use all their equipment whenever you want. Here's the website: KWWCC.org Here's the phone number: (519)513-9782
  16. Well, I gotta agree with Swordfish on this one. Saltwater fish, most every saltwater fish, tastes better than freshwater. High marks, however, to Lake Erie and Lake Simcoe Perch.
  17. So there's still a faint bit of hope you'll have some pics on that camera, eh Ryan. My fingers are crossed for ya. Otherwise, you'll just have your memories( and this journal on OFC )to remember your outstanding day by. Thanks for the report anyway and congraz on a very productive day on the river!
  18. Now THAT is some good times on the river, that there is! Nice report and pics Bill and way to go Musky Or Specks and Tybrad. Can't imagine a better way to spend a few days, and some nice river fish to boot. Thanks for posting.
  19. I just use it to find out what Chris Bosh is up to.
  20. A fun contest, and thanks for that! Congratz to the winners, one of which should have been me! lol
  21. Ummm, I'm gonna say 11 pounds 2 ounces! Goodluck to all!
  22. I'll bet that place was in 'move in' condition. Looks like the previous owners were meticulous about their yard. May you enjoy many great years there!
  23. I primarly fish that long bay where the boat launch is. As summer draws on the weeds get up and it difficult to really work from shore. Plastics rigged weedless is what I use alot. I always thought those islands along the walking path by the railway tracks would be a good area to work, too. Maybe some of the guys who fish the harbour in their boats could chime in here, cuz I'm not very familiar with the rest of the harbour area.
  24. Hey Jim, I think your problem is negative thinking! lol You're already looking for a place to buy walleye in anticipation of not catching any! Who was it that said; "Confidence is the best lure you can have in your tackle box!" Hey, good luck to you and family!
