Lew, I know that exact spot. Most often you will see some boaters go ripping "around" the back side of the church because it is NOT marked as a no wake zone! I have been fishing right in the spot & have had some LARGE boats darn near swamp me...amd I'm in a 16 footer!! FT

Charging deep cycle battery with a 2-bank charger
Fishn Technishn replied to Jackie's topic in General Discussion
Bought mine at BPS couple years ago. It's a GUEST 2610 and it says in the manual that it is fine to hook both leads up to one battery, and it will simply supply 10 amps. Has been working GREAT for the past few years. I also can go with one lead to each battery if I choose. FT -

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago. See these links for some very helpful info http://www.jasonhalfenoutdoors.com/2010seminars.html click on I Pilot Index http://www.crappie.com/crappie/fishing-ele...rolling-motors/ Ipilot sticky LOTS of Opinions Sounds like putting one on a PD2(Power drive2) is a bit of a job, but a Terrova is a snap. Gotta get me one!! There are some deals out there but make sure you get correct one for your Minn Kota! FT

Tying your own leaders / Storing tied leaders

I crimp anything over 50 lbs test. It works great. I store them on a piece of foam "pool noodle' , BIGGEST one I can find....and it floats! FT -

Ok lot of good advice so far. I go with the wife every year( she loves to play poker) I CAN"T BELIEVE NO ONE HAS MENTIONED......there is a BASSPRO in Vegas!! I am not much of a gambler either(wife makes enough playin poker !!!) so I spend a good DAY in the BASSPRO which is attached to the SILVERTON CASINO...yup that's right!!. The wife can play in the casino while you shop in BASSPRO!! It doesn't get any better.....oh, yeah it does! There is a FREE shuttle to/from Caesar's Palace to the Silverton. Go to the Silverton Casino site and find the shuttle schedule, it is free but you just thro a $5 into the driver's tip jar and he will drop you wherever you want ..if he can! This BPS has some really unique stuff that we can't get up here in Canada. Their big thing is for Striped Bass in Lake Mead. Good news is ...they use Musky /Salt water stuff for them and it is AWESOME for MUSKIES!! I always come home with something that is NOT available here!!! FT

Man, this one will NEVER end!! I started out reeling biatcasters with my right 'cuz that is all there was....or so it seemed. Kinda like watching a lefthander using a right hand baseball glove LOL we've all seen that one , where the guy throws the ball LH and then puts the glove on the L to catch it! A buddy let me try his lefty musky reel and it was a MAJOR epiphany!! I have been slowly selling off all of my righty reels and replacing with lefty's. I was once told by a BIG name fishin' guy that " if you're castin' spinnerbaits with your right hand and then switch the rod to your left hand to reel with your right.... just what is your bait doing while you are a switchin'?? Sinking!! Not good, unless that is what you are TRYIN' to do! Kinda like juggling....sooner or later you are bound to drop the dang thing" Has been that way ever since. I throw RH, golf RH( not very well tho) bat RH, cast Spinning rods RH but ALWAYS reel LH Makes sense to me cuz' I can't throw ANYTHING with my left.. look like a real spaz!!LOL FT

WOW! Johnny Bower was a BIG HERO in London when I was a kid. I have a ltd edition print of his, hangin in the family room! I remember Wally sticks!! My 1st "curved" stick was a Wally! My dad wouldn't let me use a Wally Warp until I scored 3 goals in 1 game. Took some trying but I finally got it. My dad took me to the store that day!! Not sure who was more proud....me or dad!! I had to use a Green Flash up until that day....now that was HEAVY!! Good luck on the value of that old "AXE" , lol, it is a real BEAUT!! FT

I too was looking for a 52", did all the research etc and read thru ALL the pages of advice offered here ...and elsewhere. Had to go LCD as my family room faces south and glare is BRUTAL from the windows. Ended up buying a 52" sony Bravia 120HZ for 1700 at best buy! yup I coulda saved $50 bucks somewhere else....BUT they are going to installed it on a tilt wall mount and hook up the whole system for that same price. They even threw in a "Monster" wall mount surge outlet and the 12' HDMI cable. RESISTANCE WAS FUTILE!! I too am on Bell Expressvu and the main reason I went for the 120HZ was that I did not want to see ANY blurring on MuskyHunter!! Good luck on your decision, Lew. FT
-
OK. I finally decided to take the plunge and ditch Rogers and now have Bell Expressvu WITH WFN!!! Now I need to figure out the EASY/BEST way to tape shows on the VCR. I know I am gonna fell real silly after someone points me in the right direction but I am having trouble getting it to work. ....HELP!! FT

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but there is an antique fishing tackle show just outside London on Sunday Nov 22nd. 8:30 -200?? It is in Mount Elgin Community Centre on HWY 19 just south of the 401. I went to the very first one last year and was very happy I did! Some very cool displays of lures/reel/ rods etc There are dealer/collectors buying and selling. I took a couple of old lures I could not identify and there were several "experts" there who helped me out. Some VERY unique items on display. Here's a link to the associations site...just click on "shows" http://www.cafta.ca/ If anyone is considering going, it is totally worth the trip. They normally have their shows near GTA or Ottawa. We need to support them to keep them coming back. These people really help to educate our young(and not so young) about what was and maybe what will be...if anyone gets the itch to make something. I already have that itch and my wife thinks it has turned into a RASH!! LOL FT

Thanks Roy, I knew it would be something really simple but I was just over complicatin' myself!! I will call the buddy and ask him just where he read that number!!! Thanks, FT

Got a buddy who has a Stainless steel prop that will fit my motor. Apparently there are NO markings on it that tell what the pitch is!! Only thing visible is 698099-1 Anyone know the best way to measure the pitch accurately? I know there must be some simple method but I can't think of it HELP! FT

Cheapest place you will find Nauticus Smart Tabs is in Port Dover at Texpro Marine. It's actually "just Outside" Dover. John is great to deal with. Gonna get me a set for the new boat this winter.....once I finish paying for the daughter's wedding! FT

Thanks all. They are indeed load range C and the inflation pressure on the tire wall is indeed 80PSI. I am an absolute fanatic when it comes to tire inflation and such. Been looking around for Goodyear Marathons but haven't been able to find any 12" ones!! Anybody got a better idea as to where I can find the 12" ones?? Have located a local dealer who will sell me 145/80/12ST "carlisle" radials for $69(tire only) or $109 with a galv. rim,....whaddaya think?? On my older rig I had 12" radials from Walmart that I got for less than $25 each and they were even ST rated. Checked them out and they are no longer available!!DANG!!! FT

Well, I was at Kasshabog last week and decided to check over my trailer while the boat was docked. I usually check all the bolts/bunks etc. Walked around the trailer and noticed a softball sized bulge on the sidewall of the one tire!! Went to get my tools etc to put the spare on and ...BOOM! The bulge popped and I nearly crapped my pants!! Changed it out but the weird thing is, it is still holding 80PSi which is what is reccomended for these DURO 5.30X12 C load rating bias ply. They are only 2 years old and look like new!! Anyone got any suggestions for a better tire, Space is limited to 12" but may be able to squeeze a 13" in there. Thanks FT

They also have....THE BARGAIN CAVE!!!!!!!! 1st time I went to Dundee store I spent the 1st hour in the Musky section...WOW!! Wife got bored and went into the Bargain Cave....WITHOUT ME!!!! She found a St. Croix AVID rod for herself for $109!!! Warranty tags were still on it. Gonna go back in a few weeks!! WOO HOOO!! There is also a Canadian Cabela's now but they don't carry all that much yet www.cabelas.ca FT

get her a Berkley GORILLA STICK! it is 2 peices and will handle just about anything you wanna use it for. I have 2 and I personally prefer a cork grip( they are eva foam), so they used to lay there...until my wife/daughters tried them!! They are their FAVEs now!! I am not allowed to use them anymore! I just get to rig them etc. Both are paired with Shimano Spirex 4000 series reels and you should be able to get rod & reel for $100 CDN! FT

transducer suction cup and fiberglass boat
Fishn Technishn replied to scuro2's topic in General Discussion
I always have a small tube of Vaseline to coat the suction cup. Keeps it there until you pull it off! FT -
I used to smear a little Vaseline on the cup....never came off until I pulled it off FT
