  1. Upgrade on Moore..... nothing wrong with having depth down the middle. Probably a rental though. I love that TSN all over the Sens and how much of a tire fire it is there. In all the times over the years where the Leafs have been bad, and the jersey throwing and paper bags and all that......it never got as bad as it is in Ottawa right now. The team sucks, the coach sucks, the GM is a puppet, the owner is a complete goof, the fans don't show up (only 13000 fans at least one game this year), they might trade the best player in the history of the franchise in his prime, and then the fans that do show up are being told what signs they can hold up. Just an absolute toxic environment right now..... and I love it. GLG
  2. OK so an update. I got out into the garage and starting screwing around and testing a few things. It looks like I am sitting at 12.1 volts at the battery when I have every accessory on in the boat. At my fish finder (at 100% brightness) I am reading about 11.6 depending on volume of the Sonic hub. Once I turn everything off except for the fish finder and sonic hub the battery is sitting at 12.3 and the fish finder is reading at about 12 volts. All battery terminal connections were cleaned and re-seated. Is that acceptable drop through the fuse panel? If not I guess I know where the issue is... which is unfortunate because its a nightmare to work.
  3. G, Totally get what you are saying and that’s always what i thought was that the voltage doesn’t change so how do you stop the drop? I checked the boat and I have 10 gauge wire from the panel to the battery at about 6’ max.
  4. Art that makes sense. So if I wire in another battery in parallel do I need a selector switch or can you just wire everything directly. I did a quick drawing of what I think it would like like without a selector ( I can’t draw) Batteries are both 2017 CT AGM deep cycles with similar production dates Also I have a hydrometer but they are sealed AGM batteries. Edit. There is a fuse from the rocker panel as well.
  5. Ok Dan so if I am hearing you right if I have another battery wired in parallel to the house battery it will increase the capacity and therefore the voltage will not drop as much?
  6. I have a load tester and the bettery is fine from that standpoint. The house battery is separate from the starting battery so it is not being charged at all out on the water. Also I am on the trolling motor most of the time anyway. But even after a fresh charge on the house battery if I flip everything on it drops the voltage. The alarm on the HDS doesn’t make a sound but just flashes on corner of the screen. Running them in parallel is tough since the batteries are not in the same hatch but I have thought of trying that. I have done some tests with with a multimeter and the voltage reading on the HDS screen runs true with that I am getting at the battery. Maybe it’s just battery size? Thanks for the replies so far.
  7. As I sit here in Ottawa dreaming about open water fishing I always like to think about things I can do to my boat. Last year I was running into some low voltage issues on my house battery when everything was running. Aerator, livewell pump, HDS 12 and 7, Lowrance sonic hub, NMEA 2K and lights would drop the voltage to around 11.5 and set of the Lowrance low voltage alarm. Obviously turning a few pumps off would bring the voltage back up to 12-12.3. I have a dedicated group 24 agm battery (largest I can fit) for a accessories only. This battery is brand new and runs to a rocker panel on my Lund. Is this just something that will happen when running that much load or could there be another issue such as wire gauge or something? Reaching out out to the master minds on this site for sound advance as per usual. Thank in advance Don
  8. Sounds like your finances and in order and you can afford to have a little debt so go for it man. Another option is to use a line of credit to buy a boat "cash" and then you can create your own payment schedule.... depending on the rate obviously. This is what I did and it gives you the flexibility to either pay the minimum or pay as much as you want. Also depending on what boat (size and model) you are looking for, 15-20k can get you a Lund or an Alumacraft.. you just need to find the right deal. In my opinion dealers will always be at the higher end of the used boat market... you are probably better off to go with a private sale closer to the end of the year for your best value. My best advice..... CONSTANTLY be checking boat trader and Kijiji for boats. The good deals are gone within an hour of being posted. Good luck man... fun times
  9. No these are all in store "clearance" items with that yellow tag on it. Can't find any of it online..
  10. Yup posted this topic 2 weeks ago. 2 of those float rods left at the store in Ottawa as of Saturday last week. Cabela's here in Ottawa is going crazy. NRX's and Legend Xtreme's & Tournaments - $199 Hummbird Helix 12 Sonar GPS - 799 / Helix 10 Sonar GPS - 599 112lb Terrova's and Ultrex's 50% off Shimano Calcutta 200D - $199 As well as all sorts of other rod, reel, terminal tackle, accessories deals going on. I find myself going in there every other day to see if some other deal pops up. Picked up 2 Legend Xtreme casting rods taxes in for almost $150 less than what 1 rod would cost at regular price.
  11. Resized to fit right from my phone. Just for iPhone users using their phone photos. Take a picture or pictures you want to post and send them in an email to yourself. It will ask you if you want to resize the photos and hit the small option and hit send. Then open the email you sent to yourself and download them. The photos will now be the proper size for uploading. A little complicated but it seems to work well. Hope this helps. Cheers!
  12. I heard it OI. What a complete piece of work that guy is. I would hope they fire him immediately.
  13. The plane was amphibious so there could be a chance he could have been looking to land on the water. Me got be the reason he was flying low. I have been in one of those types of planes. A super Petrell which is the same type of plane. They are very cool to fly in.
  14. I asked the guy there if there were any left. He said as soon as the price list came out employees at the store bought them all. The were a couple GL3s on sale for 199 as well as IMX float rods for 199. Even a St Croix legend extreme in the 500 range on for 199. A couple of them in Ottawa as of 430pm today.
  15. Just got home from my local Cabelas here in Ottawa. Seem that they are having an end of year clearance on high end rods. Certain Legend Extremes and G.Loomis NRXs (all sold out in Ottawa) Were on sale for 199. Along with lots of other rods and reels on sale at clearnece prices. Also some terminal tackle as well ( tungsten weights on for 2.99). Just a heads up since they will be gone fast!
  16. What was that about Karlsson being the best player on the planet? A -6 for the game last night. Just for reference.... The single game all time record is -7.
  17. Great bounce back win for the boys handing LA their first regulation loss. GLG
  18. A great way to start the season. Matthews and Marleau put up 3 points a piece and Freddie looks solid between the pipes. Our powerplay looks deadly. On another note..... here in Ottawa it looks like even with removing 1500 SEATS the Sens currently are not tracking to sell out their home opener tonight against Washington. Sounds about right.
  19. Costa... bought a 98 touring SLE 500 fan last year and love it. Great sled for both trails and getting through the bush. Built on the same frame as the Skandic minus the gearing. Hey Matt, Planning to go brand new? A Tundra, or Skandic would fit the bill for what you are looking for. expect they are both 4 strokes (as almost everything is now). The new Yammy VK-540 is a work horse as well and its a 2 stroke. That being said all 3 of these sleds are quite heavy.... but I guess most sleds are now a days. The used sled market will be heating up soon........ good luck with your search. O... and of course GLG.
  20. Awesome Chris! I had a flight like that out of Nakina last year. Although we had a very low ceiling and there was a reason for it. Average altitude was 350'.
  21. Unfortunately having any sort of intelligent conversation about hockey with Matt it out of the question. It has been several years of emoji's, large red letters, and spelling Leafs wrong. It really is tough to take anyone like that serious. Also the fact his team is the laughing stock of the Canadian hockey market must hurt as a so called "fan". But I digress. As a Leafs fan we must remember back to a year ago to when we had a whole bunch of unproven rookies and a lot of uncertainty in every zone on the ice. The difference was (as a true non homer fan) there was actually a bit of optimism. I don't know about everyone else but when Bozak was our best offensive player I didn't have a whole lot of confidence the team would be successful. I am approaching this year the same as last... with 0 expectations. Year 2 of a rock bottom rebuild is not the time to be thinking about the cup finals. They still are missing a few pieces on the back end (obviously) which will hopefully be addressed with the amount of solid prospects we have coming up. Will the rookies have the same production as last year? I would say probably not.... for some reason I do believe the sophomore jinx is a thing and the production might drop a bit. All in all though this will actually be 2 years in a row I have been excited to see what this team can do. The future is bright in Toronto for the first time in a long long time. GLG
  22. Actually surprised since you love jig fishing so much you weren't jigging those Lakers!
  23. The Sens have had 4 arena name changes since 1996. I really don't care since they are an irrelevant franchise in the NHL.... But I just thought i'd point this out. Don't like the name change myself but money talks obviously. I am sure by the end of this 20 year contract Ottawa won't even be in the league. GLG
  24. I have a NOCO Mini Gen2 and I am pretty happy with it. Yes it only charges at 4 amp per Bank but I don't run my trolling motor batteries down under 60-70%% very often. One of the bonuses of having a 80lb thrust motor on a 16.5' aluminum boat. So if you are draining your batteries every time you go out you might want to look at the higher amperage charger vs a lower one.
