ya good idea not heading out....about 8-10 inches in Fort Erie for me....shovelled the driveway twice today and will have to do it again soon. But I love the snow so no big deal...stay at home and have fun.
-
ya it would have been...would have taken you 6 hours to get here thou ...dang snow storm.
-
thanks...I think it is nice too....LOL hey do you put your boat in storage in the winter? If not you should make a trip down for drifting for steelies.
-
yep....car was going dead on me, I got a new job so could afford to buy a dakota, so I spoiled myself...I am so happy now...LOL. Now next year I hope a boat is in the horizon...lol
-
any ice reports from north of simcoe...anyone....LOL
-
Well if the leafs can stay out of the penalty box which they have been as of late, then they should have no problem tonight.
-
if anyone is planning on making a trip down here for some steel, don't bother...visibility is less than a foot and brown.
-
I am getting one next tuesday...I was a little late getting it this year.
-
don't think you will have aproblem...they don't really look at the licence type I don't think. If you have a passport then your golden and good to go. I use to go over with my G2 all the time and never got hassled....but I would make sure if you are in someone elses car to get a note with permission to drive it....been sent home before to get one!
-
give it a little time and the river will be on fire....we are about to get some snow down here and that will drop the water temp and the fish will run up stream....a couple more weeks I would say....ther are fish in the river just not the late fall numbers as usual..... nice pics by the way!

if there is a hall of fame for concussions maybe. Man he was my favourite player in 1990 draft...still have his rookie cards...what a dissapointing career for such a young talent at the time.

I would move near the Kenai river in Alaska for the fishing...LOL -
try the niagara some still there
-
there is a place here in niagara falls too...they splice it but it will only play 1 time after so your better off to dvd record it once you get it fixed

mine is the "SS PIECE OF CRAP" ...hopefully next year I can get rid of her! -
I went 3mm but found my toes froze...nothing else was cold so I looked online at mountain equipment outfitters and they have neoprene socks for $10-15 delivered....so instead of paying another $100 or so for 5mm I just bought the socks and pocketed the rest...well actually spent it on fishing gear...LOL. and if you buy seperate boots make sure they are alot larger...i am a size 9.5 and had to buy a 12 to fit all the neoprene. and all I do is wear my work long johns underneith and polar fleece on top all winter long!

Like the guys said you can just put it over top...never be afraid to stick alot of screws in it either...the more srews the tighter it will be. I hope your house isn't a really old one like mine...I did hardwood all summer long as a job so i tackled my house this summer also as soon as I bought it...put down a subfloor and screwed it down really good. Then found out after that they use to use 2x6's as joists back like 50-60 years ago....well this causes alot of movement over a large area when there is high traffic and stuff as I found out cause I have a ton of hardwood boards splitting now and I figure within a year I will more than likely have to replace it...there is $1000 down the tubes....oh well live and learn I guess. I would also recommend putting screws down on the original particle board to tighten it up first, before putting the plywood on top.

when I cast my left hand holds the line and I make sure it doesn't stop touching my hand, don't grab it thou...and with my right hand I kinda cup the reel unederneith so that line can't jump off....doesn't work all the time once your line twists all the time....but hope this helps...its how I do it. Good luck
-
water is still fairly warm...salmon are there...might be a few steelies in the mix if your lucky.
-
pretty much just the Niagara River around this area. There are some small streams but hold pretty much just chubs.
-
ice flows were not all that bad last year...only happened maybe 3 times during the winter for a day or 2 and of course the spring. But you are fine with a fibreglass for sure....come mid november the steelie action will be on fire....I float fish the shore and it can be crazy loaded with them. If you have room when you come down I would love to join ya if ya don't mind...up to you! Plu s when it gets really cold alot of guys don't like to go out...not this guy...I like it when its cold outside...nobody around!

there is a parking lot across from the golf course....not the clubhouse but near the end of it. Park there and head to the right, you will see a trail going down, careful cause they are doing construction on the trail. Good luck, might head down on Saturday, not sure. Look at my musky post to see what I look like and say HI!! There are a few parking lots but it is the one closest to victoria avenue, just before the bend.

Don't do it anymore...vcr busted.....its easy.....just buy a dvd recorder....it comes in handy for other reason's other than to do that, you can hook it up to your camcorder or record your fav shows...well worth the investment
-
I didn't have a leader, just had 12 pound test on, had to use my 12.5 foot rod cause I busted my salmon rod last year, and had an old real that my dad gave me, said it was my grandpa's....so it was nice to catch it on my grandpa's reel. If you start focusing on catching them you probably won't....LOL. I see tons of them down there when the salmon are in but this is the first one I caught

There are definately some monsters in there, I have seen many. Also some DOH HEAD last year caught a 52 pounder in the winter and dragged it in by his boat to Queenston launch, weighed it and then asked us if it was out of season......he released it to the fish gods cause it had drowned of course....some people!
