I didn't realize how serious the storm was yesterday for you guys. I have to go to the airport this aft and I had planned to take my kids to wonderland today or possibly Chuck e cheese/vaughan mills if it was raining. My question is: Is everything open or are there streets closed for cleanup etc?

I am looking for specific tackle taht is not sold at BPS. I seem to recall someone saying there is another shop near BPS. I know about the one on the highway called Fish-Onatio but I think there is another. If you know the name and location that would be very helpful. Thanks

Jaydub will trump his smallie easily by the end of bass season.

Hey welcome. Just a heads up. Pretty sure on the grand you are nly able to fish with one rod at a time. Other than that, I would say go with 10 pound test. Good for csting and stil strong enough.

Was wondering what lakes around Temagami are the best for walleye, bass and pike?

My buddy sitting in his cottage on present island in Georgian bay said he just watched a funnel cloud form over the water about an hour or so ago.

I like BPS but I always buy most of my stuff locally at Simcoe Bait and Tackle. Just trying to keep the money in town. If we don't support the little guy, they leave and that would leave no fishing stores in Barrie, which would be a travesty.

motor alone was probably worth about 750. If youhave the time it would be worthwhile. If you could sell the pieces seperately it would have worked out for you.

nice win despite the adversity.

Jaydub and I went out fishing this evening. We fished when there was light but I was just waiting for the sun to go down for the real action to begin and sure enough the Simcoe smalljaws did not disappoint. We were both throwing the similar baits and things were going fine until I lost a big fish. I was pretty cool about it and kept fishing. Jaydub in the meantime is easily outfishing me 3 to 1. Now I have another big fish on and close to the boat I let him jump and in the air he looks at me, smiles and spits the hook back at me. Are you kidding me? Second big fish lost. Then Jaydub hits paydirt and lands a beauty. A new PB for him. I am happy for but I want my big fish. Sure enough I get my chance. Big hookset this time and tell Jaydub to get the net. It is big! I really stuck this one this time, no getting off the hook. Yeah right. This was a big fish and it tore the hook off the lure! Again, this must be a joke. I catch my fair share of big smallmouth to know that this was a big big fish. Anyway, I decide to change rods and go with a stiffer rod with 30 pound braid. Immediately it pays dividends and I manage to land a real Simcoe Hog. After all was said and done, Jaydub outfished me handily catching about 3 times as many as I did, but my fish was a bit heavier We didn't take that many pics because we didn't want to stop fishing. I have never had a night like this. Without a word of exageration I lost 5 or 6 4+ pound smallies tonight. Makes me sick. I also had a lot of big fish miss my lure tonight. Too many to count. Oh well, I will have to go get them another night. Nice smallie for Jaydub Jaydub's new PB My big fish of the night

Very very cool indeed. I wish I had the time to do this. Man I wish I could turn back the clock 15 years and I would be able to make every one of these cahrity events. Sorry I couldn't help this time. I got back from the cottage adn didn't even know it was on.

I was kind of messin with you with regards to the ugly stick. Although I really do not like them I don't think that the rod was the actual root of your problems. The rod is a problem but if you were getting hits but not setting hook I would try 4 things. 1- buy good sharp hooks 2- tighten your drag 3- use braid 4- let the fish take the senko in a bit longer (if you are fishing with such a bait). Fish will actually eat senkos if you let them (don't let them), so there is no real rush to set the hook. I usually give them 2 - 3 seconds after I feel the hit.

It is ok to be ignorant. That is not a crime. Neither is slothfulness. He clearly knew it existed at some point but obviously wanted to know if it was a whorthwhile reel. Again, legit question.

Serioulsy? Where can I find this? Do yo have to be a member or pay a monthly/yearly fee? Your other option, if you have a question about a fishing reel, is to ask on OFC. That is what I would do. It is afterall a fishing forum. Legit question A2F.

Nice job. Those are nice fish. I love Bill's swag. That is a sweet look with the board shorts and rubber boots. I will have to try that!
-
The fault lies in the fact that you use an ugly stik. Sorry, but that is the truth.

It is not ideal but a boat is much better than no boat. I can't complain at all but would love to have a bow mount electric. It is a bit tough to land fish without a net as it is quite deep. That will teach me to forget my net at home when i go to a cottage.

Hmm, might want to pay a bit of attention to that facebook stuff.

That was cool. OFNers!
