  1. I totally understand pulling the goalie when you are down by 1 goal with a minute or a minute and a half left in the game. I can even (but just barely) wrap my head around pulling the goalie when you are down by 2 goals. I just watched the end of the leafs' game and they are down 4 - 1 and decide to pull the goaklie with 1min 30 left. Maybe it is just me and I am not being an optimist but come on, really? Am I missing something here? And yes, Phoenix scored an empty netter to make it 5 to 1. I just don't get it. Losing by 3 or losing by 4 I guess makes no difference.
  2. Target's fishing dept in Buffalo was craptacular. Hopefully that one store was not a representation of all others.
  3. Rollin in my 5.0 with the ragtop down so my hair can blow. The girlies on standby waiting just to say hi. nice ride
  4. nice fish simon! congrats
  5. try starting it without the gas cap on.
  6. I hope you have aat least 3 kids.
  7. Good stuff. Nice meeting you Terry. We stayed out for about 45 to an hour later. I was not a fan of the water coming into my shelter everytime an atv went by. That guy was not too far from us who fell in. Still a bit shady if you ask me but we were more careful than most (except for that time all four of us were standing in a 6' diameter circle by my hut which had 3 - 8" hole bored into the wafer thin ice ) We didn't exactly crush it out there but most perch (70' of water) were keeper size. Jaydub and I managed to take enough perch home for a nice feed. I actually just finished eating them and they were great. Surprised none of us even hooked into one whitie. This was my first trip out on the ice this year and I was trying out some new thing. My shelter worked really well and is a really slick unit to put up and take down. My new auger worked really well getting through the soft thin ice in about about 7 seconds, and my heater was about perfect size for the shelter. Good start to the year. Look forward to fishing with you kids again.
  8. WOOHOO!! Nice shootin. Misfish PS I love watching my vex and getting fish to chase. You should see how fast a laker can chase a bait. It is like playing video games.
  9. I beg to differ Wayne. That parking lot is not a good place to buy crack. There are undercover cops who pull guns for no reason. The parking lot 2 blocks south is probably a better location.
  10. Are you going out Sat morn Brian? I am going out, just not sure where. Wanted to catch some lakers from oro but no ice as far as I know. Probably end up going for perch down gilford way.
  11. Those are some nice fish indeed! Congrats on a great start to 2011.
  12. I got a pass to go out fishing on Saturday morning. From what I have recently read, oro is not yet safe. Is this true or will it be by saturday? Is BBP or Bear Point at all solid? Thirdly, I looked at the mnr regs but can't seem to find the answer. What is the max number of hooks I can run from one line 4 or 5? The reason I ask is that if I am going perch fishing I want to try this new sabiki rig I recently got from the states. thanks
  13. I ordered mine already but have not got it yet. It gets great use. I use it as reading material on the toilet. Pretty much memorized from cover to cover. I am very regular.
  14. Oh, here is a good one. I have fished Simcoe for quite some time. Lets say the better part of 25 years. I have caught a total of 1 herring. Weird.
  15. Too late. Edgar retains LW title with a Draw.
  16. As if edgar even got out of the first round . wow!
  17. Brandon Vera left his nose in the octagon and Chris Leben just got out Lebened
  18. pm sent.
  19. lol. Yeah a few more hot dogs and she could reach her 10 pound potential. Long fish though.
  20. We were in Orlando for Christmas so I brought a single spinning rod and reel on the off chance that I could get out for a fish. I deceided to buy a 1 week freshwater licence and try my luck. I only brought 3 lures with me so I was going to give it a go. The first place I fished was at my cousins house. They live on a lake in a mansion but are avid waterskiers, not fishermen. In fact, my cousin is one of the best Canadian waterskiers. Anyway, I sneaked out of the house for 20 minutes of fishing of their dock. I threw a wacky rigged senko and managed a total of 5 dink bass (caught 3 on the first 4 casts). They were all about a pound. Later on in the week I decided to try my hand at fishing a pond in the middle of a very busy and popular area across from Disney. I watched a guy catch an 11 pounder and 5 pounder using shiners. He gave me one but I only fished for 10 mins with it and without success. I thought the small lake was shallow but turns out it was 20ft deep. So much for my weightless senko. Either way, it is a learning curve and that is what I was doing. Share the water with this cool little alligator as well. Knowing there are big bass there I decide to go to BPS and get some weights and some drop shot bait. I go back to the small lake and this little kid of 10 years old is slammin fish. He has caught about 4 catfish and a nice 3 pound bass while I am there. He is a british kid and I ask him what he using and he tells me sausages. They are hotdog wieners. I laugh but I take a couple from him and sure enough I catch 3 or 4 catfish. THey are all the same size I actually stop laughing about the hot dog when the kid latches onto a legit 8 pound largie!! On the last day we are there my wife suggests that I bring the rod and try for about an hour for a bass. I cut up the oscar meyers and away I go. I manage a bunch of catfish and then a nice little largie. With only 10 minutes to I am watching my line and I see it move. Something has picked up my 2 inch chunk of hotdog. I pick up my rod and set hook hard. Solid fish and it is coming to the surface. It tries to jump but only the head comes out. There is a huge crowd of tourists around and manage to reach down and lip the big bass to roaring approval of the crowd. It was so funny. People were cheering and clapping. I held the fish high as if I were Ike and had just won the Bassmaster classic. The fish had a big big head. In another lake that fish could be 9 pounds. It was very long but not too fat. I didn't have my scale with me but it wa a good fish and a PB Largie for me. It was fun for sure. Fitting that I caught my PB bass at the headquaters of B.A.S.S.Might have to try the old hotdog trick on Simcoe this july. lol
  21. Of a seven year old girl? jk. I am just waking up from a nap. Got home at 7am

  23. looks yummy, but I thought we were actually going to see an ice fishing report from you. I must learn patience.
  24. just in Florida. No martins but I wish.
  25. I should not be throwing out numbers like 7+. The fish was very long but not fat like fall smallies. It was a bit lean. Def 6+ lol. It did however have a mouth of a 7+ pound fish. Caught on, wait for it. A hot dog wiener There is a story behind the wiener but I have to go to bed now. Will let you know about it Saturday.
