Another good man gone.

Wow, what a difference a couple of days make. After work this morning I headed up to Collingwood again to try my luck. There was, plenty of open water to fish. Tie up some floating roe bags and get heading. Caught my morning sunrise in the rear view.LOL To my surprise, all that ice I could see way out there on Friday,was blown in. There was just enough open water to wet a line though. I have not used this rod in probly 35 years. 12ft 2pc lamiglas. Figured it was doing no good just tucked away collecting dust, so rigged it up. Still love using it. Gave it a couple hours then I got a call that I was needed at work again.Always the way. No biggie though. They paid for my gas.LOL HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY ALL

LOL Ralph. Thanks RB I found some open water and the water friends are there. I,ll be out Sunday after work, honing on my picture taking. I watched some buffel heads (I think) when I was up at thornbury. They were too far away to take a good picture though.

Simcoe? East or west? Yes it matters. West,I could be in trouble. East well, that would be a drive to buy anything. I could be safe. LOL

Those docks look to be secure there Wayne. Have you seen the one that was out and about? The bay here is very grey. You can see the 3 transitions of freeze up very clearly from the shore. I,ll bet I,ll be perching from the toon by the end of the month. Would like to be crappie fishing by then on another lake though.

For those that get to Collingwood regularly,you have seen these. For those that have not been,I thought I would take some pics and share. It,s the old ship yard area. To bad there was not more equipment saved and shown for the public to see. I like when I see this old stuff. Hope you did too.

Like Terry said,access this morning was not in our favor. The ice is going away fast. So we packed up for last time this hard water season season. I decided to take a mini road trip to check out some areas for up coming birthday annual weekend fish. Came across a wood pile and thought this would make a cool shot for my album. Anyone remember those what do you see cards? LOL Cat face Baby turtle Larger turtle Flower Made a stop at Collingwood. Use to perch fish here 30+ years ago when Betty and I were dating. A couple more weeks, then we should be able to launch bud. Went a little further up the road and well,it,s open,but very dirty. The live counter at the dam was not on,so no idea how many fish had made their way up the ladder. Well lets hope things clear up and out in the next couple of weeks.

That was the winter I fished the river all winter long. Wonder when I will be able to do that again.
