Day three of fishing and Im pretty much torched from the sun.LOL One of my favorite ways to catch active buckets, is to boil a spinner bait. I was throwing top water at first and getting fish, but I had to grab the spinner bait and start boiling with fan casts. It,s a great way to fish over weeds and cover alot of water. Shallow or deep water, this method is very effective. I managed a few this morning this way. I was lucky enough to get a video of one hitting and landing it. This one was over weeds in 12 fow. Hope everyone had a great fishing long weekend like I did.

Im sure this person will not post again Art. When someone is full of it and takes advantage of a good member, it needs to be said. This site has rules, YES, but when rules come to this, it needs to be brought out in the open. Im being polite by posting in the status.

It isn't about what was done it's about the disparaging insinuations that were made about being a liar and lacking honesty. I have NEVER knowingly lied about anything (a fish tale or two). To have it insinuated that I knowingly misrepresented something, to have my honesty and integrity questioned was an insult. The instigators name has not been mentioned but the reputation is apparently well known. I was warned before hand but couldn't believe that anyone could be that way. Lesson...

Firmly set and ready for the bbq. You know it,s ready when it holds in your hand. After a 2 hour slow cook, and basted. it,s ready to rest . How is the secret sauce kept? Well in a bottle of course. Look at all the fine herbs and spices in that bottle. A family secret even I dont know. Just glad to get me some for the bbq.

Theres always McDonalds I tell them. LOL Big roll of ground extra lean beef, with,garlic,pepper, onion, bacon and old cheese stuffed in it. No bacon wrap this time. Theres enough 2 lb,s of fried bacon in the mix.. Will be smoothered over with, a fresh batch of an old bbq sauce recipe that my great grandmother past on to my parents. It,s full of herbs and spices. I was given a bottle yesterday. Grilled cob and taters as a side.

Didnt get many this morning. Seems they are moving on to new areas. When I would see one, I would throw a tube out in front of them. They would just skitter away. Im wonder if my new over size flippers are scaring them. Maybe they think it,s Kempenfelt Kelly.LOL So decided to start casting some long bombs. That seem to be more to thier liking. Same set up, tubes and spinner baits. They would just lightly pick up the tube. Really had to watch the line. The spinner , they seem to attack it, but bring the bait towards me. Really wierd bite this morning. Four hours and a bit of flipping away, the legs started to get tired. North wind started to make it a bit harder, so called it a morning. Nothing like a work out and getting to fish. 5 AM on the water. And a few pics. Going to play with buckets sunday morning.

Thanks fellas. Was well worth the early rise. I was to have breaky with the parents in the morning. Figured I had a few hours to get a fish in before then. Me pops an early riser aswell. I was on the lake at 5ish. He texted me at 5:30. Breaky is ready. LOL He kept things warm til I got off the lake.

Lake O. July 1 few early hours at the West end

Nice fish guys. Looks like the bite was on for all of us before the rain hit. -
Departed at 3:30 this morning and made the 1.5 hour drive . Knew they were calling for rain, but was still heading anyways. Get there, lake is nice and flat. Unload and fished for 3 hours. Lots of pound and a half fish. Lost a a nice tank. Knocked it off with the net. No matter, managed about 30 fish in the limited time. A few pics. Good mix bag lake. A fun lake to fish. Just park and slip the toon in and go fishing. Everything on the white spinner bait. BOOYHA.

Was more of a vinyl listening guy growing up. Did see Max Webster when I was like 12 at Massey Hall. First time I was told what that funny smell was. LOL Seen him again at a high school concert when I was 17. Attended some of the old CFGM Country bashes at Molsons park. Attended one lallapalloza,s when I moved to Barrie. Crazy partying.

Leave now and take 4 hours to get 1.5 hours away, or leave at 4am and get there in 1.5 and fish. 4am is my choice.LOL
