LOL how is getting the money you overpaid beating the tax man? If you break even, that means you kept your money in your pocket all year.

  4. That was cool. And the kids looked to be really enjoying their time out there.
  5. I still swear I seen one walking along the hwy heading to my parents place near Burks Falls. This thing was huge and stood out. I was driving in a group of cars and trucks, so pulling over quick was out of the question. Today I heard that a cow moose and 3 calves were walking through the town of Waubaushene.
  6. Did they say why, "No Pesca a playa" Cool looking fish.
  7. Maple Leafs Recall Kapanen and Sparks from Marlies
  8. Thanks guys for all the replys. Wow, they sure are not cheap. Which is why I asked, looking for a better deal then I have been finding. Im not looking to break the bank, and really dont want something fancy. Just a cover. Something I could go away on a weekend and sleep under cover. Maybe look up making your own and see whats out there. Finding used ones online is limited. And when I do, they want the same close to new cost.
  9. Mud Line = blood line. Bleeding the fish out after you have caught it, will eliminate most of it. I noticed you didnt cut out the Y bone. Does it desolve in the cooking process? I like the add salt, but would add onion. Fusing the onion into the fish. Oh I need lettuce. LOL Nice Thanks for taking the time. Enjoyed.
  10. Always wrap in BACON. Every goes with BACON.
  11. Thinking of going with a cap instead of the hard top cover I have now. Looking for some links to places to buy. I want a solid no window cap, straight out from the top of the truck. Not one with the step level up at the back..

  14. Fish cakes Ya it,s simple, but taken from my nan Boned salt cod. Chop into small pieces and soak in water for 6 hours or over night. Depends on your salt intake limits. Sometimes I punish myself to enjoy the real. Boil potatoes. Cut/dice, 2-3 onions. I like the purple ones. Mild and sweet. Back in the day, nan didnt have that choice. Put in a large bowl Add pepper, bit of garlic, dill and savory. NFLD Savory. Leo,s. You can get it Sobeys. The only place I have been able to buy it. Mix together with a fork. Once potatoes are soft, not to soft, you need texture.put in the bowl with the onions and mash together. Here,s the trick. Add the potatoes hot. You want the onions and spices to penetrate in to the potatoes. Once the potatoes are cooled, add 1-2 eggs and mix. Then add the cod. Mix it all together. Using a wooden spoon. Scoop out a hand full size. Form like a hamburger paddy. Have another bowl with either bread crumbs or panko. I know you like your panko Cliff. me too, but bread crumbs are lighter for these. Once you have the patty made, just dust the cake with crumbs or panko. Lay on parchment paper and repeat till all the cake mix is gone. Frying is up to you. I like to slow fry in BACON fat. If no bacon fat, I will use granola. Just fry til sides are crisp. A nice side dish is savoy cabbage. Enjoy B
  15. Jigs dinner is not that cheap anymore Cliff. 14 bucks for a small pail now.

  19. On the weekends, I buy for the nights dinner. It,s the way I roll on weekends. Dinner for two is not that hard to buy for and watching the price is easy. Today I stopped in the local grocer and got a big bag of boned salt cod,bag of onions and 6 taters. $7.37 was the total. I didnt need to look at the bill, as I already did the math before going to the til. $7.37 for 20 huge fish cakes. Oh and ya, buying gas at Costco is the best gift card I ever got from my company. 2-6 cents savings a lt,is 2-6 cents savings a lt, no matter how you look at it.
  20. Got a few hours on the riv this morning. Water was prime. Then the rains came again. Sure felt good to be out drifting a float again.
