  1. he seems to be walking on water? two lines in the river? awkward reel setup?
  2. Hey guys,Tim has dragged me out for whities and lakers a few times. Those few uneventful trips have led to me refer to them as unicorns and bigfoot,as i saw no evidence of these creatures.Well no more ribbing him about whitefish. What a day.He landed 3, I got 1(the little guy). The two other he didn't note weighed 9lbs7oz and 11lbs5oz.He was aware of the record and against the advice of all present, simply slipped her back.Congrats Tim.
  3. post the head shot of the big one, it shows the massive shoulders.
  4. wow...pretty good trip,or season,or decade.
  5. stupid question, what was your buddy "pre-fishing" for?
  6. x2 took the nefews on monday eve they had a blast(ages 2 & 4).caught a half dozen rainbows in about 2 hrs.red and pink powerworms did the trick.
  7. Please don't ruin this bridge club cat fight with posts that include logic and common sense (you may just get this thread off track!) My wife and I are enjoying it far too much!!
  8. Agree, and this year as four years ago less harvest will occur due to the large number of fish that will be done and back to the lake before the open season.More eggs laid plus a cool/wet summer,if we are lucky, should make us happy in another four years.
  9. unfortunatly a lot of 'bait' anglers are taking spawners (in many cases not fit for the table)out of the system solely for roe. A bait ban would be a positive step. Bumper runs like this year are perhaps the result of early runs four year previous (when harvest was limited and redds left unmolested)
  10. Glad to hear you put them to use. Lots of guys harvest big hens for the roe only and too often these fish end up gutted on the bank in a dumpster or in a garden. You would be suprised how many guys openly admit it when asked the question I put to you earlier.
  11. How do they taste? The ones from lake Ontario that you fill your (hopefully small) freezer with?
  12. I was checking them out at dusk in scarborough. Thanks for clearing up what it was, the kids had me stumped about the bright stars.
  13. A friend went out to BC last fall and told me the most popular set-up he saw was a 10 1/2 -11 foot rod with a small bait-caster.Does anyone have any experience useing this type of set-up on smaller warer situations?I often use a bit heavier combo for chuckin spoons and bottom fishing but wonder if with the right gear could you have agood all rounder.
  14. Guess I was wrong.Thankfully everones ok.If the outcome was worse your comments would have offended more.
  15. I'm with Cliff, I must have missed your sarcasm too!
  16. I used to fish pigeon alot in the 90's. I first started hearing about friends targeting them around 92 93. Soon after they were so abundant we would stop at a weedline at dusk and catch as many as we wanted.Good eats and was a nice end to many musky outings.
  17. Some gear and baits right now in the OFC cassified.you may find musky first, musky hunter and next bite sites worth a look.
  18. Great advice so far but the required equipment could easily run into the thousands in rods, reels, net ,giant needle-nose, bolt-cutters etc. I'm sure once you try it you'll be hooked but considering the investment it may make sense to drop a couple hundred on a guided trip to one of the Kwarthas (numbers lakes) before making the large financial committment. This way you can get a chance to see how useful and necessary all the specialty equipment is and also get to see area specific techniques and lure choices.
  19. I don't think your feelings about a tv personality says anthing about how patriotic you are.Like with don,I don't always agree with your opinions but find your views often give me something to think about.I find this place full of people who "speak their mind" and have "cherry-sized" pairs.
  20. Could you expand a bit? I'd like to know your opinion. Agree or disagree gotta love Don.
