  1. That was pretty damn funny. Looked like a fairly decent sized bass too.
  2. Thanks Roy. Next thread from me will hopefully be a fishin report
  3. Thanks guys for the suggestions. Checkin them all out.
  4. Thanks for the replies guys. He will do any kind of work, mining, construction you name it. Really no jobs down in London and he is starting to get into that depressive funk..... I really appreciate your suggestions.
  5. Doing this out of hope more than anything, but you are a good bunch of people on here so I am hoping someone might have some info. I have a buddy who is looking to work up north (lives in london and wants to maintain it as a base). I have tried to help him look for jobs, but apart from the odd job on the HRDC website, we are clueless as to what companies operate up North. I am talking about mining etc, he has an excavator licence. Could anybody enlighten us to what the main mining companies (or anything else) up north are? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Doug. P.S, I haven't been fishing and won't be until bass opener, but I continue to live vicariously through all the reports on here
  6. Great photos. Thanks for sharing
  7. Its certainly unusual, I thought the exact same thing as you. Maybe it was a cry for help and he didn't mean to kill himself.
  8. can't fool me dan. Those mountains are near Kitchener. Nice try though :whistling:
  9. Awesome stuff. Was just down there myself. I must concur, the lightning bolts in the ceiling were awesome. Edmonton was in town when I was there...........I have to say I thought the organ was pretty cool. Somehow you found bigger grouper than me........................... but how many grey grunts did you get :jerry:
  10. Currently Canon I would say have the best technology. I run a research group and we have some very high end cameras ($10K cost) and canons just dump on the other brands for quality of image. Sony's cybershot was good, but because they had Carl Zeiss lenses (Zeiss manufacture microscopes so lenses are their business). They lost that deal with Zeiss and the cameras are now crap. They bumped up the pixel level to compensate, but the new cybershots suck. You cannot go wrong with any Canon quite frankly, but for the price, the PowerShot ELPH 300 HS is a great camera. The photos are awesome, and I use the camera to tape concerts and the videos are excellent. It also has better sound capability which may not be a dealbreaker for you. It also has optical and digital zoom, tons of presets for different conditions, and it nice and compact.
  11. Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS is the best by far in its price range. I have this, quality of videos and photos is superb.
  12. The best way of treating arthritis is to target tumour necrosis factor alpha which is secreted by the inflammatory cells. TNF alpha is very damaging and sort of causes a perfect storm as it causes joint cells to secrete more TNF alpha which then recruits more inflammatory cells. The current best medications on the market are etanercept and infliximab. These are recombinant antibodies which are injected into the joint and neutralize the TNF alpha and it last for about 6-8 weeks. So you need multiple injections. Problem is that they are expensive and most healthcare providers baulk at paying it. Its about $14,000 per year. They do work though. There are currently clinical trials going on which target TNF alpha using gene therapy, ie they inject DNA into the joints which switch off TNF alpha in the cells. Unfortunately there is no one size fits all treatment. The other thing is if you are overweight, drop it as quickly as possible. The heavier you are the worse the joints will deteriorate. Obviously if it in your thumbs, this is irrelevant
  13. I can add to the smoke cracking at the MNR. When I called them about the whole postal code thing, I said I tried to change my address for my outdoor card online, but it wouldn't let me. She told me I couldn't do that as my card had actually expired so as far as the system is concerned I don't have an outdoor card, so I cannot change the address. er OK.......
  14. Snap, tis what mine looks like. Did have to go through the whole postal code not valid, call them up, wait 30 minutes to talk to someone, and then wait 5 weeks to get the card.
  15. Pats didn't lose, the Giants went and won it. Wasn't a great game, but I am so glad the Pats lost.
  16. Lamb of god - Insurrection. Unreleased, no video yet. :whistling:
  17. Call the cops, report it, let them sort it out. Then you are covered.
  18. Well Crosby's good, but he's no Phil Kessell
  19. Unreal. Late getting home from work and he already has a goal and an assist. :worthy:
  20. Queenston/Lewiston I have had less hassle. Truth is it don't matter. If the officer you get is in a pissy mood, you're screwed. When I was getting my PR, I had to "leave" Canada and come back in, so I went across at Niagara Falls. The Canadian Border guards were cool told me what to do. I went across, you tell the US border guards about getting your PR, they send you back after unofficially refusing you entry. You get a piece of paper for the Canadian guards and your done. This happens every day. The US border guard kept me for over an hour for no reason other than he could, I didn't even want to enter the US. They are complete :asshat: Thats all I have to say about it. I should add that I was the only person there. He kept my passport and spent all his time organizing a trip to see the Detroit Tigers. I go to the US only if I absolutely have to and nothing is going to change my view on that. That said my friends in the US said they get treated just as badly when the reenter the US from business trips.
  21. Nah sorry I don't, it was a good few years ago now. I caught it at a place called Limpley Stoke just outside of Bath in England. The fishing was amazing, big chub, barbel, tench, zander, bream, roach, lots of big coarse fish. Highly recommend that area for anyone who wants to try their hand at it.
  22. I've caught one, but in the UK. Used a swimfeeder with maggots. They fight pretty damn hard, way more so that walleye.
  23. Yeah I thought the same thing.
  24. Nice job Shinny. Some beauties there. Josh, was good to meet you yesterday
