  1. Thanks. I noticed the pedals were all from newer versions. Shame they can’t be adapted.
  2. Isn’t it? I was sitting at a traffic light heading in elmira and saw a young man at the light with a horse and buggy selling maple syrup. A bad storm was coming, and he was standing there looking at intently while checking the weather (assuming) on his large smart phone/fablet. No word of a lie
  3. Thanks for the idea. My coworker knows of an old order mennonite who’s supposed to be electronics wiz. Go figure! If I can’t fix this or find a pedal for it I might just go and see what he can come up with. I don’t really want to spend a ton of money on an antique, but I sure can’t afford a new one!! Especially when I have to re-power with another Outboard soon and want a really nice fish finder... New floors and carpet and seats and a transom. That doesn’t even address the work I’m trying to get done on the old wooden classic in the pictures background. That one gets peanuts and hardly that
  4. Oh that is cool. By the way, your regular catches are lifetime fish for me. Those are awesome fish. I’ve never really looked at one of these rigs before. Did not know you could use flippers. I might have to get me one of those rigs. I can’t seem to catch anything around here with a powerboat. Might be time to go back to the quiet lakes.
  5. I think I got a real mouldy oldie. Maybe first Gen? Anyone know where I would begin to test whether the pedal is gone or it’s the motor ? I’m not that much of an electronics guy but do have some basics and a digital multimeter
  6. Best of luck to you. I hope they and mother nature can knock this one into submission.
  7. Most welding shops will sell off cuts for cash. Even better deal ?
  8. That rig looks cool! how long does it take to set up? Are the the sponsons double chambered? how well does the troller work in windy or breezy conditions? what is the purpose of the footwell being open to the water? Could a mesh or screen floor be added? (For people like me who tend to who tend to drop stuff)
  9. They are putting in a wind farm in the reserve. I heard they got a piece of machinery stuck in the bush that sparked a fire. Can’t say if is truth
  10. My brother gave me a 50 pound Minnkota powerdrive trolling motor that does not work. Has anybody got experience fixing these? Wondering what to look for and what the typical failures are. I’d like to resurrect this thing if I can. Thanks advance.
  11. Great to know. I’d like to check it out. Need to pick up a bigger transom mount elec troller or fix my front mount 50lb
  12. It’s a small hand held metal anvil with a dome machined in it to match the dome shape of the rivet head. It prevents the head of the rivet from being distorted by imperfect hammer strikes and keeps the contact pressure uniform
  13. Oh cool! Are you the guy with the light green one? We’ll have to do that
  14. PM me if you can’t find another. I’m in Guelph and can fix it this winter if you can wait
  15. I’ve never thought about these planes before. That must be tough to fly. Surely they can’t carry much water? id like to see how it works to keep water from sloshing and how it dumps quickly
  16. Awesome, thanks! Hope to see you out there, I’m in a 70’s Starcracaft Supersport. White and blue with an equally antique merc on it
  17. Suggest a heavy wall tube. Stronger to use 2.5” tube with 2” stub into your receiver. How much tongue weight?
  18. Thanks for that, I just might take you up on that sometime. Any specific colours/patterns that seem to stand out?
  19. Thanks, I think that is the MAitland I hadn’t considered Orangeville
  20. Also check your keel plug. Some early Boats had a sealant in the keel exposed at the bow where the bow halves start to come up together. The sealant shrinks and allows water to come up from the keel vent hole near the transom
  21. Gluvit is a great seep in epoxy sealer, but no good if you have a finished floor. How fast is it coming in? do you have corrosion around rivets? Any missing? 3M has a good mini syringe epoxy applicator that you can use around questionable rivet heads. any OB connections (thru-bolts)@ Transom?
  22. Those firefighters and pilot are a wildly brave bunch. I hope they can save everyone's properties safely. Those guys are unsung hero’s
