  1. PS, what is that unit KVD uses to win FLW events (others too use them) that sends sounds into the water to attract fish?
  2. My boat is a "pleasure craft" for family fun but I fish from it as it get's me from point a to point b faster than the tinny. If you looked at the pic it's a bowrirder and not a bass boat... just saying...
  3. Not an auto one, I have to flip the switch to turn it on and off. Either way I have a few ideas now and thanks all!
  4. The funny part about that is I have one and the darn thing was dead too!! Couldn't boost a cricket after being plugged in for a few hours too! As for the stereo I honestly think 2 years ago I unhooked it (fully) because of the kids. I'm 99.8% sure of it that I did. No GPS in the boat and the sonar it is VERY seldom I use it as I know my spots and the lake very well after 15 or so years there. I really think the bad bilge pump somehow pulled power and when I go there next in 4 - 6 weeks a full wire test will be done then with the aid of my father.
  5. Thanks Tom. The radio hasn't been on in a few years so I hope I can check that off the list as the cause and no I do not have GPS. Just an old "bird 525" that I don't even use.
  6. Also noticed a chip in the hull at the back of the boat. I have never hit anything in the boat so I am going to guess a big flipping jig did that as it was in the back left of the boat (right by the owl in the pic at water level). Noticed the chip when on the trailer and strapping it down... ARGH...
  7. Well I did my typical visit to my folks place on my kids weekend (Burnt River) and was all set to get out on the lake for a bit mid day for a fish. Recently the bilge pump died and the boat needed some bailing (done). Go to start and lower it a bit on the lift and for some reason a thought popped in my head to "try and turn it over it hasn't been run it two weeks that I know of". Yeah it was stone cold dead. Hooked up the tester and it was showing a 0.55 for power... UGH. So much for fishing and the kids tubing... Rigged up some extension cables to stay dry and toss in the charger. Let it sit from 2 pm to 6 pm and it had enough power to get me out fishing for a bit (all close to home and not my normal spots for walleye). In the short time I was out (went back before dusk to not need the lights and worry about being stuck to paddle an 18 1/2' bowrider solo) I was able to find 4 decent SMB and 2 decent/good LMB. When I'm solo I don't take pic's as I cannot afford to buy a new cell right now... Went to fire up the boat today for a quick fish and or kids to go for a tube ride and I was able to get it to turn over enough to fire up after a few tries. All the electronics in the boat were off and the battery was recently replaced too and this is the fist issue battery wise in a few years. So needless to say that the boat is now going to be out of the water till next year as I won't be going to visit for another month or longer... *sigh* Is there a way a NON-WORKING bilge pump can still draw power even if the switch if off to cause this?
  8. What time were you there? I drove by at noon on Sat to see if I could see you but I didn't see anyone fishing. The only people (2 cars were there) was two guys in a car with a small boat. Did you check out the ramp of the lake by chance? I had seen someone cashing off the dock there Sat around 2 or 3 pm. If I wasn't having boat problems I was going to log on to the site and PM you for a trip on the lake.
  9. Do you have any boat or canoe? Options open up big time if you do or can borrow one..
  10. Very true. I put stuff out one time with a sign saying "donations are accepted" and ended up with about $25 or so in my mailbox.
  11. No prob and it's called "burnt" river for a reason, haha. Like fishing in cola and water.
  12. That's the spot. There is a decent amount of space there. LOTS of the area is all farm land and a few cottages at the other entrance. Worst case you can also cast off the boat ramp dock at the base of Hillside Dr for bass at the lake right there. My folks live there and that's why I know it so well... I'll be there at the lake with my kids Sat and Sun.
  13. There is a decent area to fish from shore right off the 121 on 44 (second access rd). If you hit the 1st access rd by mistake then go to the stop sign and hang a right back towards 121. You are right with the fish in the river. More likely for bass and musky (small ones)
  14. I'm free for a bit later if you need a hand Cliff. Text or call me
  15. fished 4 of the past 5 days, man I'm sore and tired...

  17. This old map may help you a bit...
  18. We had 9 boats out there for a 'fun day' and we were only to fish from Sandbar Rd and North to the 1st bridge. Fished from 630AM to 3PM and MAN was it a tough day! Some boats even got We did manage to have 4 keepers for 2nd with a total weight just under 10lb and the winner had barely tipped the scales over 10LB. All in all it was a fun time. I NEVER fish pads for bass and for those that don't fish that way as well, it's not that easy... Well not to me, a walleye guy (on other lakes). Went out yesterday for 5 hours trying the same thing in the same spots and only managed to land one bass and a musky. The musky wasn't measured but in the high 30's to low 40's and was very, VERY clean! Nice and dark on it's back and the belly was very light. Never had a fish jump like this one did!! The jumps were 3 to 4' in the air. It was great to watch and fight with (again, a walleye guy here). The surface temp's both days was 77 - 79* for those wondering. oh and the musky wasn't in the pads. I turned around and fished open water with a spinner bait looking too see if it was a reaction strike kind on day as the bass in the pads was SLOW...
  19. The pic Cliff sent of the hutch...
  20. Thanks Cliff and it looks very nice but it's too big for her. Next person needing this should be very happy with it. If I can get the pic off my phone and one to the PC to post it for you I will.
  21. Send the cash and done deal as I'm Po... (so poor right now I cannot even finish the word)
  22. I have a friend that might be able to use the cabinet. Have any pic's so I can see the size and to show her? I can make it tomorrow during the day to get it if it fits in her place.
  23. Very nice man! Congrats!
