  1. So now that my parents and kids are aware of the trade in on the truck for the 2017 Cruze let me say a few things about it. One; this little turbo 6-spd manual goes like hell when you want it to! Let's just say a 3 car pass takes 1 to 2 gears and seconds to do even at speed... Gas use? Well I got it with an 1/8 of a tank and took $45 to fill and as of today I have gone 550K and still have another 260k left according to the computer based on how I have been driving. So needless to say I am VERY happy I made the change! The only issue I see is having the kids and fishing stuff when I bring the 1pc rods. Otherwise I'm loving it. When I rolled my Subaru years ago it changed me. I hated driving after that hence why I went to a truck. Now that I have been driving this car for a week and a bit I'm back to enjoying driving again and a drive doesn't set my anxiety off knowing I have to do a longer trip. Oh and I cannot wait to highway test it some day soon.

  8. I have heard of them as a "couple of college guys who love to fish so they made a company with good product at a great price". I even checked out the baitcasters they make and some great reviews but never seen one. As per line. I like the PP superslick 8 for spinning and also sipderwire stealth. 15 or 20lb in either. I walleye fish and with the areas I fish I tie direct to the jig with no leader. Sometimes I will bass fish but still tie direct most times as I too am not the best with knots but I have used floro as a leader on clear lakes. I also learned the hard way NOT to spool a spinning reel up with thicker floro as it just sucks. I pulled that line off after a weekend...
  9. Kids weekend, oh yeah...

  10. good to hear all will be well and it's been found. Chain from dock to tree vs rope is how I'd go.

  13. Same. However Eric you and your father are are covering the best of both worlds at the same time. I don't troll often at all because I have my areas and key spots. Also the spots I go to the weeds come up to about 7" to 12" from surface to top of weeds even in 14' of water

  16. Well last year for me on my folks lake was either BIG one's well over the slot more so than keepers. Yeah I still got the odd feed here and there but not as much as I had in other years. Not to many under's last year either. Now Sturgeon lake on the other hand was a lot off keepers and under's with very few over the slot for me and my buddy.
  17. good on you bro! your injured and have had just as much time out as I have and I'm NOT all messed up, ha! Just no time here as you know...
  18. Even good old Matthew Barnaby is a class act off the ice and I hated him, till I met him. I said please don't give me that $%^& eating grin you gave in fights or I'll have to pop you in the chin then turtle on the ground like a scarred little school girl. He gave the grin and said "go for it, naw lets go for a beer instead" and we did.
  19. don't get this either!
  20. my folks live on 4 mile lake and have been there for 15+ years now and the lake has never been as high as it is right now. Burn River is all flooded too but that happens every year.
  21. There are many companies out there that can "engrave" or 'note' your special gift but if you are going for a 'special fishing knife' well then I'd wait and see what a few members here come back with as some do that. What is your timeline like? I'd PM Art to start and see what he says or who he directs you to.
  22. toss it! I had a spool for the same intent and lost more fish than landed and I'll never by "vanish" again cause that's all your lures and fish do is vanish...
  23. Same, I just got in from work.
  24. as per the other quoted here starting with B: Yes it went up do to "MY" safety in a crash. I'm much safer in a truck vs a car is what they claim and also it's a car that is 10 years newer than the Ram was.
