  4. I'm not to sure where Taro is in this pic but those are some nice fish... Maybe I should edit that pic...
  5. gee fang, I'm going to have to try your brine with the sweet chili thai sauce now. it sounds good! Oh Paul, when you make the brine put some in a spray bottle. every time I check on the fish I give it a spray to keep the fish moist.
  6. Hey Jet. I have a clam 2000 and just got some ski's to do the same thing! I got the ski's for free using freecycle.org... Now my question to you is this. How long are the cross members at the pin/hinge/bending point? I'm not good with metal but I'm sure I can try and make something out of wood... Let me know when you can, cheers. Geoff
  7. Josh, how's he doing? I'm going to guess your not reading posts right now but let us know when you can, cheers. Get better Darryl.
  8. For brine (when I do salmon) I like to use 400ML of soy and 100ML of honey. Mix the two in a pot and heat but not boil. If you get the brine to a biol it's too hot. Let cool after the honey has mixed in nicely. Then when cool add the fish to the brine and let sit in the fridge for 24hrs. I have used apple wood and alder and I like apple wood much better. Also you don't want the heat over 220* as an FYI...
  9. well said.
  10. someting tells me you trust tubes on that lakeX...
  11. I will set it up again over the weekend so I can get some good pic's in the light for you then. Now, another Q for everyone. Seeing the other post about runners... If you have an old set of downhill skis that are in decent shape but will never be used for skiing again...would you mount them on the base of this hut? The clam 2000... I will be walking most of the time but the odd time I will have a atv or snowmobile, thanks.
  12. Not yet, I just got it late last night, LOL. What do you want to see and I'll take the pic's.
  13. got a pic of that by chance? I just got a clam 2000 and want to keep it in the best shape I can, thanks.

  15. Sorry to bump this up to the top but I have to say TKS Ab!! It was nice to meet you and thanks for a great deal. if you ever find those missing blades and can't use them with what you have drop me a line. PS, it's set up in the garage so when my wife goes to take the kids to school tomorrow they will see it and freak out... HAHAHA
  16. cork here. I hate the foam grip for all the reasons posted so far...
  17. That's about right, the cost that is... you can get the cement at the $$ store and some of the items needed as well to dress the hook. go check out the fly tying section at your local tackle shop as well as craft stores...
  18. All I can say to that is.... DANG....
  19. From my understanding they both say "Eastman" on the zipper.
  20. I think the Sub Zero is for the CTC stores and the Ice Cube is for Walmart. I was looking at those units too. I just didn't see one at the Walmart by me...
  21. now that's a good one... I would hazard a guess that GOOD livewell isn't going to hurt the fish at all but improve the odds of its survival if it was a long fight to land the fish.
  22. What I wonder is why it's taking so long for WFN to take it off? "oh, I hooked it in the bum"
