  1. Great job. It looks like an episode of the New Fly Fisher. Great Pictures.
  2. Thanks for making my Friday morning so great guys. haha
  3. Welcome Greg, and congratulations with the baby.
  4. Hey Mike, I just posted a similar topic the other day. Have a look and see if you can pull anything from it. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17247
  5. Sounds good. Well I guess the shimano guy either didnt understand what i was talking about with the "Clicker" or he just didnt know. Either way, I think I may go for the Tekota, if I can find it on sale again. 2 weeks ago they were on sale everywhere Alumacraft, I will be testing whatever I buy in the River this year. Never been out on it, but I am going to give'r a shot this year.
  6. Oh no Bill, please dont tell me you were a fan hahahaha
  7. I second that. I will be there tomorrow to have a look.
  8. This should be posted in all schools. I wish I would have had these before. Now for some Reality TV, there must be some show on about how to make money quick
  9. No no, it does have to do with the phases of the moon. Moon Phases are huge in the Musky world. A lot of guys wont even fish if its not during some Lunar event. Day or Night though, the moon will rise at all different times. You can just see the moon at night a lot easier. But the moon can rise and set at any time and does. Just like the sun rises and sets. Read the links that everyone has put up so far. Some people believe that Lunar activity has a lot to do with fishing, some think its a load of *(%. I am one who believes it does help in the Musky world. But thats just me. Stoty, on the other hand, thinks its all blah. But we both still go out and catch fish. So I guess what it comes down to is, keep a log of your catches. You can go back at a later date and see when the lunar activity was on the days when you were fishing. See if it has any bearing on what your results were. As for "What is the affect of Lunar activity" I am not getting into that. Its far too complicated. You will have to read up on it. There are tons and tons of source available on the net. When I get home from work I will try and post a few quick ones.
  10. So what everyone is trying to say is, if there is a full moon fishing is good, if there is a new moon fishing is good, if it is 3 days before or 3 days after a full or new moon fishing is good. Quarter Moons, fishing is okay. Cloudy fishing is good. Weather is bad. Changes in weather are good. Moons are good. Weather is good. Moons and weather are bad, but can be good if the fishing is good. If good fishing is bad and weather are moons then fishing moons with weather on a calendar should be good right? Or is it if weather is good and moons are fish, then the boat will float.........I am confused now Look up Joe Buchers Moon Secrets, he explains everything. If not try and understand what I just wrote.
  11. Ahh Belleville, a little too far and I would love to get a feel for the reel but $71 you cant go wrong. I will continue my search ....
  12. I havn't been a member of this board for too long now, not even a month I dont think, but things like this are really impressive. I am glad I joined and glad to be a part of this community. Everyone on here are truly unique people and a great bunch.
  13. Good job guys, I gotta get into Steelhead in the offseason I think
  14. The Tekota's have a clicker? I played with one at Lebarons sportsman show booth and the Shimano rep said they didnt have it???? Did i not hear him clearly? I loved the feel of the reel, and i would gladly purchase it, just i am really big on the clicker (personal preference)
  15. Hey guys, I am going to grab a new Line Counter for Trolling. I have never used LC's before, just traditional baitcasters. I have been looking around and not sure what to get. I dont know anyone personally who owns one, so I am hoping some of you could help. I have looked at: Diawa Accudepth Shimano Tekota Okuma I want a clicker system though, and the Tekota doesnt have it unfortunately. Any of you guys own these? How do they fair? I appreciate the help a lot.
  16. Hey guys, I need some places where I can hook some fish in a few weeks, please let me know the time of day, exact location, what tackle and techniques I should use .....oh wait, wrong thread....
  17. Promoting other boards! Uh-oh. haha I know there are a lot of members on this board that are members on that board. I need to read the rules....even if it is help haha Stoty, thanks a million.
  18. Bill, My buddy has 2 Lowrance LCX-113C HD's and they are fabulous. I know you probably dont want to spend the money on one of these things, but if money is no object, look into them. Its like watching TV. They are huge. But far too expensive.
  19. GO LEAFS GO! At least we are consistent. That counts for something.
  20. Gotta love that one pic of the guy snowblowin' with the Tent attachment. It must have done a lot hahaha
  21. I agree with Justin. Get a tripod. Its not worth killing the fish just for a picture. Especially a Musky of that size. I wish they were release only, but thats only me. Even prop up your camera and put it on auto timer. Keep it in the water and when you are ready then take the pic. Justin, I like to call 'those' days', "Sample" days too. But I am not proud enough to take a picture Yes...checking the zoom
  22. I think Gerritt is referring to the MuskyMike Charity Foundation for Broke Fishermen and Women. Gerritt handles all the grunt work for it. Gerritt, forward everything to me. Great to see they came through, maybe some people will sway back to the show now that they have shown they care about the viewers and their opinions. Well done FNC
